Here's a WIP of the second unit of spawn for my ETL vow. I've tried 3 different brass/bronze paints for 'em:

Pretty sure I'm gonna fail my vow, but it's good to get something done, at least!

Great to see some progress here! If it is any consolation/motivation, I could never see myself painting two huge units of juggernauts like that, and I applaud you for having soldiered through this task! And they look awesome to boot!

One question, though: I realise the paintjob on the champ is still very WIP at this point, but why did you paint that Inquisitor's severed head red...?

Anyway, keep up the excellent work! :)

Finally did some painting, as I'm on a short break between classes.

A while ago I screwed up a shoulderpad on the above guy, gonna need to start it over.

I decided to instead get back into hobbying with my 10 man squad of CSM/KDK from the warband I've dubbed the Fangs of Cerberus. I'm still laying down the first layers, and soon I'll be applying the washes:

Agreed, design is killer

I actually remember seeing you start this side of the project... been wanting to see you really take off with this aspect of your force for a long time. The Juggerhoard is an idea I've always been completely gaga for, and in another universe (where I actually had time to be involved in 40K properly) I would definitely have a crack at it myself. Roll on, fellow Jugger-fiend, roll on - you're doing great, and have at least one diehard fan here :biggrin.:

I've been slowly painting, haven't taken any pics in a while.

I'm wondering what you all think of this graphic for the sigil of the Fangs of Cerberus:

Quite "catchy" I´d say. Is this the name of your Khorne worshipping IW´s? Sorry, just stopped by didn´t watch your thread that closely lately, tbh...

That running champ is just looking awesome! Fantastic kitbashing, and the painting seems to be coming along rather nicely as well. Seeing another power weapon painted in the Midnight Runner school really made me smile ;)

I also really like the warband logo, although I would argue it might look even better in all black on a red background.

Anyway, excellent stuff! Khorne is pleased! :)

Wow, thanks everyone! I'll try and add more contrast to the eye lenses. I've used a lot of paint so far, so I don't want to add too much lest I cover up details. Would yellow be a decent idea?

They're not Khorne-worshipping IW. I haven't solidified their background, but the entire warband is partially possessed by Karanak. That's where the Cerberus nomenclature comes from, Karanak being 3-headed and all. The "Fangs" part is because the warband does his bidding and paves the way to summon him into realspace (even though Karanak can't be taken in KDK, this is more a codex CSM army; he'll, I don't even own the Karanak model).

These are Traitor Space Wolves, one way or another. It could be that a great company was sent in force to annihilate a Word Bearers army led by a Dark Apostle, but had no idea the killing floor was covered in runes thirsty for blood. Once the killing was done, the ritual was complete, and Karanak's consciousness crossed the veil into roughly 100 hosts, rather than the single Dark Apostle.

They're supposed to look very beaten up, as well. Another possibility is that they slaughtered Wolves and salvaged their armor to replace their own, but I like the loyalist-rage-inducing aspect of them being traitors, albeit unwilling ones.

I did want his power sword in MidnightRunner style, Kraut. :) For a first attempt, I'm happy with it.

I have my army all over the place, but when I get them to an acceptable state I'll definitely take some pics.

I think I'm gonna finish my 20 Berzerkers next, since I'm partway done with them, anyway, and now I'm used to painting this scheme.

All of my Khornate forces are based on "sand" made of the skulls and bones of billions of life forms that have been ground beneath the boots of warriors facing off for the amusement of the bloodfather.

See the juggernaut spawn above for an idea of what it looks like.

Now that's a truly menacing champion. The colour combination is lovely and you've really made it pop out. More depth on the power sword and, as Biohazard mentioned, a bit more contrast or a brighter dot on the eye lenses would go a long way to make this a stand-out.

So now I'm playing the waiting game for that unit of CSM. Letting my bases dry overnight (glued grit onto them), and I ordered those transfers so that could take up to 2 months to get to me.

So now, I return to my passion project:

Just gonna make them World Eaters since I have the FW transfer sheet. I'm looking forward to building the other ... 18 of them. :)
