Decided to go with 1:1:8 nulin wash : gloss : thinner for the floors

Turned out better than expected :D

Annoyingly my contrast paints I ordered were meant to arrive today but because my mail redirect just kicked in and its a ups usps hybrid delivery they're returning to sender instead of forwarding it <_<

At this rate the stores will be open by the time I'll get them

Bum luck about your paints getting rerouted incorrectly. Although we currently have a restriction on essential services and shops being open, the government allowed certain stores to remain open provided they reduce staff and maintain physical distancing and run the store as primarily e-commerce and curb side pickup. This means my FLGS is open noon-1600 Monday and Friday only, you pay for your stuff on the website the night before and then park in the middle of the empty parking lot and call a phone number, the FLGS employee then unlocks the door and puts your purchases through your passenger window. This means I was able to pickup 5 paint pots I was running low on this past week, they goofed up my order and included the incorrect flavour of Blue, so I called the number and he brought out the correct colour, didn’t want the original back, and I think since it’s obvious I’m a health care employee (uniform) tossed my kantor blue through the window on the passenger side like it was a grenade. Hopefully all those running low on hobby supplies find similar options if shutdowns continue.

Not sure if it matters, one thing a friend of mine did on terrain was to spray black spray pain over the top of it from about 2 to 3 feet above the terrain for that effect.  

However, I think that would work better on terrain that was textured, not smooth.

Lost a bit of my hobby mojo of late

I am super excited about 9th though especially with tanks still being able to shoot!

The last week or so instead of painting I've been playing Inquisitor Martyr since I've found some locals who have a regular game night of it

I also ordered a bookshelf for my 40k books which I must set up over the weekend a bit smaller than what I was hoping but looks good and at some point I'll have a man Cave set up in the basement

I've taken a the next couple of Fridays off work to try and unpack or house a bit more and hopefully sort out my hobby space too. That might get my groove back.

Not a lot of progress of late

Got my hobby desk somewhat situated and am slowly getting back into the painting groove :D

Messing around with more contrast paint and got these statutes done pretty please with how they came out

Attempted to paint my HSVG Scions and realised I should airbrush them black instead of trying to be semi neat with a brush so decided to hold off on them until I break out the airbrush

Annoyingly I don't know when that will be as my hobby desk is also in our office. With everything that's going on my wife works in there full time during the week and the fumes left over from airbrushing give her headaches. Will need to see if I can get some serious airflow going as I also need to airbrush my chimera entry! :ermm:

Upside with the new office layout I can plumb the ducting right out the window and the smell is minimal! :D

Made some progress on my Chimedon and also started working on repainting my Baneblade

Finished up a model for the current RG challenge

Had an awkward amount of time before packing up for the evening and these guys were staring at me after coping an airbrush on the weekend

So I began my Scion repainting.. :facepalm: <_<

A good start, I plan to get back to my Scions soon too - also need to start with a bit of a repaint but shouldn't be too bad. Maybe.

 

Your hobbying is top tier lately so keep it up, but I suppose we should expect no less from the commissariat

Actually more like I got my hobby area set up again after being between houses the last 8 months

Made some more progress today, ugh these guys are as painful as I remember even with what is meant to be an easy scheme

I just caught up - lots of lovely painting going on! :tu: It's nice to see some terrain being done too, I think most of us very rarely do any as we focus on models

 

Keen to see the Victoria minis painted up too. I ordered some infantry some time ago but haven't touched them yet

Not a lot of progress today but did get a special piece of terrain contrasted last night and dry brushed today

Didn't quite turn out how I liked it but pretty close. Probably should have primed with grey seer. Still happy with the results though need to finish the base of and build the rest

Gave my airbrush a good soak and clean think I'll go back and redo the baneblade when I have a chance :down:

Also quick update on my chimera challenge

A bit more progress today got some stripes on and started pin washing rivets and recess washing

Pretty sure I'm gonna give my self a RSI with all these rivets :ermm:

Speedy work, still waiting for my statue piece unfortunately - maybe when I finally get it I might actually paint it :P Got any particular plans for the upcoming 9th changes? I'm thinking about that second Valkyrie I have still in the box, might finally be time with the removal of movement penalties for vehicles.
