@Quixote- Not enough flames :laugh.:

@Bjorn - Rock on man :happy.:

Admittedly, the name "Morituri" came from an old Marvel comic series from 198 … last cent … many years ago.  I'll link the Wikipedia page later (I should have done so with the post :facepalm:)

Nice work. And there's never enough deathwatch models around, with funky specialist loadout.

Only downside of LotD is that they removed several wargear options when going to 8th edition - from my guys, 2 out of 5 don't work any more.

@TWH - you know, the lore came to me in the shower a few days ago.  Maybe TMI, but the foundation was always there, the details came quick.  I couldn't wait to write stuff down.  Honestly, I reread it thinking of ways to improve it as I believe it's the only lore I've written in this plog :unsure.:

@Vyper - I really appreciate that ^_^

Thank you :tu:

Frankly, this is a unit that may never get used.  But on the chance they do, then I wanted their points low, so I didn't go crazy with options.  Between me and you (and the internet), I'm really not a fan of Storm Bolters being so readily available.  That's a selfish PoV, but it's mine ^_^

The shower SQL thing is normal, I have that too. Okay, without a dog (or showering during work), it's happening when I go get a coffee (or do the exact opposite). After reading articles about that topic - that's the way focus works. If you direct your full attention to one topic, it narrows down to whatever is directly in front of you. If you take a step back and unfocus, you'll find new solutions.

Same with how I do the trickier conversions - when something doesn't really fit together, just let it sit on your desk. Tinker around when you feel like, and at some point you'll find the solution by "accident".

And here I was, considering a sternguard unit with 10 storm bolters, just to pile up the most enormous amount of dice that ever came out of 10 PA dudes... :whistling:

Dude dude, DOOO EEET!

After my SG is a demi-squad of Combat Veterans and they are going to get SB and Chainswords ^_^

Sternguard ... oh yeah, that thing before there were Aggressors ;)

Aw man! I missed this.. Really good looking counts-as squad.

Might have to steal the Morituri idea for my eventual Revilers Pinion demi-company, as an extra CAD thing, along with a Land Raider or something. It would fit the Revilers more than my DIY chapter who would never be trusted with such secrets.

I bet St.Lazarus would be the best bet to ask that question. He's working on modifying a Corvus at the moment so I bet he has some insight on flyer conversions.

Hmm, I've used a Corvus as a Stormraven myself, yet I may have to troll his thread again because he has good ideas.

I think I need to settle that I am not likely to use one and my thinking is an excuse to build something different to satisfy my snowflakeness.

Thanks Dracos for forcing my opinion :P. I'll build the Stormhawk and see it with my own eyes before I dedicate more brain cells on the thought.

Looong time no see stuff :wacko.: Frankly, life has a way of distracting one from being as relaxed as one would want. But enough with the excuses. I finally got some stuff done. Again, I'm using a cell phone camera in a room with a desk lamp about 6 inches away from the model :tongue.:

Vindicator Laser Destroyer

(The Storm Bolter is backward but I was too lazy to retake the shot)

The main weapon uses the Quad Lacannon from Kromlech. I had to get the Vindicator bits separately because I have enough Rhino chassis. What I'm not a fan of in the pics is how obvious the decals came out. Adnmittedly, I did NOT use the gloss varnish-application-gloss coat-repaint method as before. So I think the result of that decision speaks for itself :facepalm:

Otherwise, this is a realization of a long-term dream for my army that was more affordable than the FW version :tongue.:

BOOMDICATOR!

The markings show this is (obviously) a Heavy Support vehicle and 3rd in the unit. The upside down Ultramarine sigil represents a noteworthy campaign in this vehicle's past.

The Vindicator's side armor has a BIG open area and I happen to have a BIG decal that fit. The V indicates this vehicle is assigned to the 5th Company.

Another angle of the main gun. There were no fancy attachments to make the thing fit, nor any special cuts to the resin or plastic. Looooooots of glue though.

This has been on the desk for months and I'm happy to see it finished. There is a lot of the list and I have to decide either another vehicle or a squad of dudes. I'm leaning toward dudes because change is good for the soul.

Thank you for looking and your patience with my absence :sweat:

Thanks gang ^_^

I may work on Primaris Intersessors I got with the Intro box set.  But with the nifty RG upgrade stuff because … Raven Guard :woot:

And let me just say: I'm slowly becoming convinced the non-Primaris units are going the way of the Dodo.  This is total speculation, conjecture, or guessing.  It may be another edition or two away, but I have this weird feeling about it all.  Then again, when the leak came out about a new power armored dude (that really was a Primaris marine), I openly guessed it was a conversion.  So … yeah that.

Regardless, I have way Way WAY too much unbuilt stuff for both traditional (?!) and Primaris stuff so I'm not without choices.  It's just making that choice ...

OH, and I thought to trash my PA Shrike model because he's officially over the Rubicon, but then dismissed the idea as heretical because dagnabit I really liked to conversion.  Just a little insight into my thinking about my stuffs.

Glad to see you've emerged from the warp. I agree that old-marines are on the way out, I was calling that when 8th dropped (and I'd only started the hobby about a year prior) and at that time I said it was probably a ~5 year cycle before they were phased out.

I think it was a fluke that Assault Centurions got the boost that they did with the new book. Old-marines will be around for a bit longer but eventually they'll get moved to Legends status. CA will ignore them for points changes, etc.

Now, quit musing and start building and painting.
