Today my IG (AM)....

Didn't realise the RR were out yet Duz; can't wait to see what you do with them.

Meanwhile I have a heavy bolter team nearly finished for the Yantar 8th- Victoria Miniatures bodies with cadian heads- And a sentinel pilot with an arm posed holding the converted door open also nearly done. Four more infantry on the way too. Might be a little while til I get round to finishing them, but progress is progress!20230316(2).thumb.JPG.3c01563bbcb2d8d332482e259aa0e55b.JPG

@Boneheadyes they've been out for a little while now. Although are hard to get now from what I've heard.

I'm not sure how I'll paint them yet. (Knowing me I won't ). I thought about 3rd Ed colours but they're too close to my Mordians so maybe a take on their current box art.

VM does great stuff, I use head swaps for various things.

Great work @Ramellcan't wait to see the final product.

I've just seen that Victoria Minis will be doing their own rough riders- I guess that settles what I'll be doing when it comes time to add my own. But I'll be taking inspiration from what you work out to do with yours, Duz.

In the meanwhile, here's some more finished infantry: three troopers and an officer. Definitely not my worst work, if not spectacular. They'll join the growing horde on the shelf for now. I must be near 70 finished models by this stage.

I have been running a stormlord competitively now for a few weeks in our league - with 4 heavy bolter sponsons and ingrained precision strat auto wounding on 5+ is very deadly, my next list will be a stormlord and a Banehammer both full of infantry, command squads and Kasrkin and all I deploy are the two superheavies and a fully loads Leman Russ.

I went with full 4 sponsons just because the extra lascannons added a lot of much needed dedicated AT firepower that my army generally lacks.

Looking pretty amazing, Inso! Did you have a blog on warseer called 'good, old-fashioned squats'? If not there's someone else out there doing the same thing as you, but it seems unlikely.

This week I decided to lay out everything I'd built and painted so I'd know what to do next. Blimey. 71 infantry and a sentinel. Not bad going. Just a few more models needed here and there to make a pretty decent little force, even if I don't play any more. Another sentinel, some more weapon teams and a few troopers to flesh out a squad here and there.

Then what? I'm running out of AK lasguns so I think I'm going to top out at 6 infantry squads. RR will come when VM do the kickstarter campaign. Vehicles? Artillery? Suggestions welcome.

Finished a 2nd sentinel, with a nice little converted driver and open door. Also a couple of specialists for a command squad and the last HB gunner to finish a fire support squad.

Damn. I can see in the picture that I've missed the final washes on the leg pistons to make it look oily. Oh well, not a big job.

Happy easter/ weekend everyone.

Beat Eldar in my league game with the baneblade!

Then switched lists and losing to noise marine spam when the store closed and we had to quit. He was running 6 units of noise marines with 4 units of cultists and a big 10 pack of possessed. Vanquisher did exactly nothing, even with full rerolls from Lord Solar. 2 rerolled into a 1 or a 1 rerolled into a 2.

  • 2 weeks later...

Six more Troopers of the Yantar 8th done. I must be up to 80 models by now. Not quite up to the speed of certain unstoppable nutcases of this parish but they make for a nice mass of co-ordinated colour on my shelf.

Just a few odd models here and there to finish and it'll be time to move on to regimental advisors, and start thinking about vehicles. Two sentinels are not going to achieve much on their own.

Today my IG... kicked ass. Player Placed Terrain for our League, that GW wood in the middle is an Obscuring/Light Cover "Glass Box". It was added after some feedback from other league players to help those not great with player placed terrain.

He was running a DP, Lucius, MoP, 10 Possessed, 8x5 Noise Marines, 4x10 Cultists.
