Seen this on instagram a while back, very cool idea! If I get doubles of this figure I'll definitely try something similar, never really thought to use it for Iron Warriors even though it's so simple, definitely looking forward to seeing him completed!

Hey all!

Glad Vhalen went down well. I need to do more sculpting before he's ready for another photoshoot, but until then, here is a recently finished commission for a client to add to the ranks of his VIIth Legion.

The client wanted elites who could reflect the harsh, icy conditions of Inwit, homeworld of the illustrious Imperial Fists and their gene-sire Rogal Dorn.

However, we wanted to avoid making the beast pelts look too much like bears or wolves so I went for something a little different!

Since these pics were taken, I'll be swapping out the main chaps thunder hammer head to something a little more substancial as it currently looks a little feeble atm!

Hope you enjoy!

Damn that looks great already! That sculpt its my favorite plague marine out of the set. I love the pose, the longer set of armored tabbard, and the cowl like shielding behind his head (even though I think that could cause a bullet rounds to ricochet into the back of your head and neck).

That Warsmith is going to the IV proud!

I'm glad you like! I definately agree about that body, it's also my favourite from the Dark Imperium set.

Great choice of bits for Kyr Vhalen, can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks dude! Seemed to scream IVth Legion after a little cleaning up!

Let's hope you don't have to wait much longer!

The Warsmith looks great, very dour and fitting to his legion.

Thanks Pearson! I actually have a lot of respect for the IVth of late. Total badasses!

Fine work there dude! Great to see the new models used for other Legions!

Glad you like good sir! I'm looking forward to getting him done!

I scrolled through the pics first before reading text. I have to say they didn't come off as the wolf pelts of the mongrel-dog legion and I am even happier to have that confirmed. I used to want to try the wolf pelt on my old Imperial Fists similar to some Roman legionnaires but never came out right.

I do like that these look like boars and that hammer terminators would make King Robert B. proud!

Good morning all!

I managed to finish off a commission for Saul Tarvitz, Captain of the IIIrd Legion, this week, and wanted to share the end results with you chaps!

Elegant, but lacking the opulent trappings typical among officers of the Emperor's Children, I hope you all agree that this 'toned down' version captures the character well!

As ever, C&C appreciated.

Good Robert B.! Glad you like buddy, my main concern was people mistaking them for Space Wolves!

Hey guys,

Sorry for the absence, I've been working on a few projects and wanted to share a couple of the HQ options I've made for my DG ZM auxiliaries.

I'm all about the narrative so these were very fun little projects to work on :)

Enjoy!

~ It is said that the gibbering fanatic known only as 'The Deacon' was the first acolyte of Nurgle within the millions of human souls who served Mortarion and his warriors.

If the stories are true, many decades before the eruption of the Horus Heresy, a lone Chaplain of the Word Bearers covertly passed a grimoire filled with scrawled incantations and hexes to a lowly urchin aboard one of the many ships in the Death Guard fleet.

This seemingly insignificant action planted a small yet potent canker within the bowels of the XIVth Legion. This rot would slowly but surely spread to the far reaches of the fleets, preparing countless mortals for the inevitable civil war that would split the Imperium in twain.

Many years later, with the tome still chained to his waist, the Deacon walks the rusted halls of the Scythe's Edge with his disciples to heel, his dirge-caster ever blasting memorised passages and prayers dedicated to the Lord of Decay. ~

~ It was not his noble heritage or hereditary status that saw Leon Pudentius elevated to the rank of High Admiral of the 19th Fleet, XIVth Legion, but his efficient manner and lack of sentiment, bordering on callousness.

This, twinned with his cast-iron loyalty to Mortarion and his adherence to Death Guard doctrine attracted the favour of influencial figures within the ranks of the Astartes and won him his commission.

It therefore came as no surprise that Nurgle's touch did little to poison his blackened heart, and Pudentius embraced his new gifts as a grateful subject should, gleefully crippling loyalist fleets and bringing genocide to Imperial worlds with the use of horrific plague weapons.

Though merely human, through these barbaric actions he has earned the respect of his masters within the ranks of the Death Guard. His influence and reputation even permeate throughout the warp and the denizens therein, who deliver twisted advice in the guise of a diminuitive Nurgling who perches on the High Admiral's shoulder. ~

Like I said, seeing those tusks made me think twice about wolves.

Tarvitz also looks good! Like you said he is elegant but not flamboyant which fits his somewhat humble character.

Thanks Hushrong, I'm glad you found my Tarvitz convincing!

The Pose on that EC char is epic, great model alll round!

Thanks Sagentus!

Saul looks brilliant, its amazing how well you can sculpt the small details on the knee pads. The toned down look definitely fits well with the character.

Thanks Vairocanum! I thought those little details would really show his colours without going overboard.

The Deacon and the Admiral are wonderful models, but there's just something about the Admiral that is especially attracting. You've done a marvelous job of conveying his complete disdain for everything around him.

Brilliant work.

Very characterful conversions! The Deacon is cool, but Pudentius is definitely my favorite of the two. I love how casual he looks, with cigar in mouth and the nurgling on his shoulder right by his ear. Would love to see a group shot when you've finished all of your ZM models, looking forward to seeing more!

Oh man those two new guys are my favorite thing. The deacon is a lovely construction of the right bits and pose. The admiral is also awesome and I love the bloated chin, his smirk, and the cig. Also, he has a nurgling parrot!

Hey guys,

I thought I'd post up the remaining breachers for my ZM squad. They all need some refining before paint, but when I've sorted the last touches I'll upload a squad pic for your enjoyment before getting the paint on!

C&C welcome as always.

And the last Grave Warden WiP for good measure;

Really nice work on these two, there's just such character about them, especially the Admiral with that jaunty pose and cigarette dangling from his mouth.

Thanks dude! They were a lot of fun to make!

He may be a lapdog of the XIVth Legion but he still commands all humans in the fleet! Glad you like him.

The new batch is looking good. The Grave Warden and the axe-Marine are some instant favorites for me.

I also like the use of the bare heads you have. The green one just shows that these Plague Marines are bloated with Nurgles blessings. While the more shriveled head looks more like a dried corpse that died in its armor but forgot to stop fighting. It also looks just like how I imagine a DG character from the Black Legion novel.

Also, any idea on the chain size you have used on the green head's tabard?

The deacon and high admiral are positively oozing with character. Fantastic conversionwork once again.
Where did you find the small chain for one of the breachers? The smallest loop I've come across is 1,5mm.
