The Anvils of Konor - Champion Grune Thrael painted!

Already seen on instagram but bigger pictures really do justice to your brilliant work. The hair is looking fantastic, the evenness of sculpting is perfect! The closed fist does seem a tad lacking though. Looking forward to seeing more work done on him, hope the flight to Australia is good.

Wow those corrupted deckhands look amazing, exactly what I picture when thinking of what lurks within space hulks. Fantastic concept with stellar execution, hope you have a good trip.

Very much this, nice job.

Tarvitz looks very 'Come at me bro'

Morning all!

I am finally back in the UK after a crazy year away! I have neglected this page recently, and plan to keep you all better informed of my conversion (and painting ;)) moving forwards!

Since returning, I have been mainly prioritising my time on my DG ZM force, and tweaking my list to ascertain what modelmaking and converting is left to do.

As it stands, I'm pretty close, needing to make the following;

Force Commander,

8 x levvies,

Contemptor Dred,

1 x Grave Warden,

9 x Breachers.

I've been using a nice range of bits lately, and am immensely lucky that GW decided to release DG when they did, as it has made my life much easier! Suffice to say I'm very excited about the upcoming releases.

So, this week I've been working on my levvies, which at 2 points a model is quite the labour of love. But then, Grandfather Nurgle is quite a sentimental fella...

These guys are all wip, and will need some sculpting and tweaks before they're ready to paint;

As always chaps, C&C welcome.

so much awsome here its almost overwhelming, the sculpting details i am very jealous.

Thanks a lot Thamier! I'm really happy you like what I have to offer!

Excellent work as usual, those poxwalkers look AMAZING :)

Thanks dude! I hope this latest batch shamble their way into your heart...!

Thanks Vairocanum. The flight wasn't too bad actually!

As for the fist, though I see what you mean I think I'll wait and see how the finished model looks before playing around too much :)

Have been working on him this week so should be ready to share more pics soon.

Perhaps you should take Tarvitz on a little jaunt around the streets of Perth......

Stunning work on the hair mate, it's high time you became the Third Legion Chief Hairstyling technician.

I hope you'll give him his bolter and a cape, it's all about the cape!!

They've got to look fabulous, after all! Really enjoying this IIIrd Legion streak...

Loads of incredible work in here chief, I don't have enough superlatives to express how much, hah.

Can I ask; what is the head you used on Solomon Demeter?

Thanks Yodhrin, that means a lot!

The head is actually from the Sternguard kit if I recall correctly but I have actually swapped it to something more suitable. Should be able to share pics later this week!

Thanks man, I aim to please! The trouble is trying to make them all characterful and unique when it's such a large squad!

So you are back in the U.K. for some time? If so does this mean we will also be treated to painted models?

The new additions look great. I was thinking you were making 8x leviathan dreads though. I was petrified and amazed by the pure shock of such a feat.

Also, Saul looks sweet. Still waiting to see your take on a kakophoni.

Afternoon Brothers!

Switched up my building focus to breachers since my last post (been desperately trying to get hold of the DKOK Engineers and Commander to fill out my Auxiliaries, in vain :(), and am now, excluding sculpting, halfway through the unit!

Been trying to minimise the 'contagion' to fit better with the 30K aesthetic and my narrative, and trying to give each miniature some personality and 'charm'.

They've been really fun to out together thus far, and I look forward to the new multi part kits that should be released soon so I can complete the unit!

I also ordered magnets last week and have had some fun with those, particularly for weapons so when I become more experienced in game and require different loadouts. Magnets are fun!

Got a slightly 'larger' update for you guys in the pipeline, but for now, some WiP breachers;

I hope you enjoy, and as always C&C welcome!

Some more fantastic conversions! The levvies are looking awesome and the bits use on these guys looks very well incorporated! Excited to see what you'll do for the force commander and dreadnought. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks buddy! I feel I've really pushed those kits to their limits! Granted I now need to spend MORE time on poxy 2 point models to fill gaps/add rot etc.!

Your conversions are just... wow. You've taken so many different models and made them look so cohesive they could have been designed that way.

That's very kind of you to say! It's crazy how much time I've thought over aesthetic and what would work will scale/design. Glad you're a fan!

Here you go again, giving me great ideas for nurgle cultists/mutants. Won't you ever stop? :P Really like these conversions, well, all your conversions.

Help yourself man! I'm trying very hard to get hold of more humans to convert up but I'm too tight to go to FW, lol!

Spectacular improvement on the pox walkers, you've redeemed the models. They actually look evil and creepy as opposed to the stupid spiky clowns the stock models are!

That's a relief! I want to move away from 'komedy' Nurgle of old and make these guys look genuinely horrifying!

Great work the whole way through. Great little tutorials. Would enjoy seeing some more. The detail your sculpting is just incredible.

Thanks dude! When my plate is a little less full I'll have to cook up some more tutorials!

I'm back until further notice and have been consulting with friends about the best way to tackle the painting! Very excited!

8 Leviathans would be mental! Perhaps one in the future?!

If I had any doubts that I need to buy a couple boxes of gc acolytes to splice with my pox walkers cultists and aos khorne dudes you've put them to rest. Very inspiring!

Glad to have helped with that decision buddy! The scale is perfect, and really if you're precise you can get away without too much sculpting.

You are playing ZM, right? Just imagine how sweet a Leviathan would be stalking through the corridors! If you get one please let me know as I would love to see the work you would put into it.

The new Plague Breachers are also sweet. As always you have used some great bits in awesome configurations. Definitely like the last one you put together. Painting is also fun. I am not great at it and every time I pick up the brush it feels like its the first time all over again. Hope you get cracking on it because I need to see these awesome minis with some color.

Morning meatsacks!

Thanks to a very generous user on Instagram donating a load of the new DG plastics to me I was able to add to my breacher squad the other day.

Thanks to a friend I helped do a little hobby tidying for, I was able to make a levy 'drill sgt.'!

A good few days all round! The new plague marine kits are looking very tasty Indeed and will help flesh out the force from ZM to proper pitched battles!

With the breacher, I used a pad from a Master Crafted Miniatures set, cut down with mk3 trim added. The besegews are from an old skellie kit. A little cleaning up and sculpted needed but otherwise he's good to wreak havoc!

With, who I have cunningly named 'Drill Sgt. Beubeau', I took a poxwalker head and shaved that down to fit a shaved down Astra Militarum beret. The axe head is from the First Strike poxwalkers. He looks ready to add some cockney discipline to the horde of levvies stalking the decks!

Let me know what you think!

P.s. In the process of ordering all I'll need to start painting. I'd really appreciate some advice on how to reduce my anxiety at finally putting paint to models!

That first figure looks so menacing - excellent work!

Glad you approve brother!

A Leviathan is an awesome idea and an essential add on when I've finished this current batch! A little nervous to start painting again, but I've been given loads of support by experienced friends :)

These are going to be awesome!

Thanks Markus, I certainly hope so!

Great work on the breacher, looks great and the shoulder pad works really well! The drill sergeant is also a great idea, the beret meshes really well with the head. I'm not sure about your views on the nurglings being everywhere on the new DG stuff but I think having one hanging off his back/shoulder could look nice (sorta like a nurgle version of a parrot). Looking forward to seeing more!

The new breacher is looking righteous! Cannot wait till we see a group shot of them all.

And the Drill Sgt's grin just sells the whole deal there. He is making me think of the Nurgle Guardsmen from the Atlas Inferno novel.

Morning all,

Time for something a little different today, in the form of Kyr Vhalen, Warsmith of the 77th Grand Battalion of the IVth Legion.

This is a WiP for a client, and it still needs sculpting work done, but this is generally how he will end up looking. It wasn't too tricky to remove any of the growths on the original figure, and this chap cuts quite the intimidating figure compared to normal MKIII marines!

I plan to change his sword and will need to add scar tissue to his face, but he should be done next week!

As ever, C&C appreciated;

Glad you like it chap! The FW DG sorceror has a tiny nurgling on his shoulder that I may use for my High Admiral conversion. Great idea!

Thanks Hushrong! I'll have to get some group pics up soon for everyone.

Loving this!

I am having a few issues with a conversion I am doing would love to get some advice!

Hey man, send me a message and maybe I can help you out?

Damn that looks great already! That sculpt its my favorite plague marine out of the set. I love the pose, the longer set of armored tabbard, and the cowl like shielding behind his head (even though I think that could cause a bullet rounds to ricochet into the back of your head and neck).

That Warsmith is going to the IV proud!
