Okay so some WIP shots. I first started with the crates as I had been looking forward to painting them. They are nearly finished, the blue one I might try dry brush to a brighter shade and for all 3 I will add some basic weathering. The red and blue crates have had some typhus corrosion in the corners so the green still requires that. The Leviathan and the un-base coated members of my 2 squads have received priority too, just getting them all past the metal stage and into the blacks and hazard stripes etc. The Warsmith has been left untouched for now, still trying to find the right helmet that will fit the slot made for a bare head.

I am going to have to make an amendment to my vow, due to an incident earleir in the month i didnt have access to my models/paints for over a week. thus i would like to commit to only finishing the Helbrute and csm squad.

 

If i manage to get them done, ill try and squeeze in the heldrake

Current state of my 2nd deathwing squad, Still haven't received my Primaris and Dreadnought for this months vow (*shakes fist*) but I'll get them done

Will hopefully have these guys done before the weekend and start on the dread when it arrives (still deciding on scheme for primaris)

  I'm with you. My Malal army is defintely half and half, in spite of established canon. Because nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooope nope nope nope.

A little late on my vow on account of a bout of mononucleosis. I'd love to be painting, but my painting equipment is stuck in a cellar in the middle of heat-blasted Prague, and it's dangerous for me to leave the house in this heat.

Update on my vow!

 

My little Killteam is shaping up, having been color blocked. They await detailing, shading, and a wash... and they'll be good to go! This was fun for me, as three of the guys in the squad were character submissions from people keeping up with my WIP thread. It was a cool challenge, so keep your eye on my narrative if you wanna have a character of yours turn up somehow someway. I'm totally gonna do that again.

 

 

They're rough, but they're shaping up nicely.

More updates. - 2nd Vow

Build and paint second tactical squad, Squad Agravail, Second tactical are armed with a Grav gun and a Grav Cannon

I also decided that Sergeant Agravail would have some bionics, and this was built by removing the rear of the right grease and the foot, before rebuilding both using plastic rod and small pieces of sprue

And then we have veteran Lueius, first of the Shield Bearers. Lueius is armed with a powerfist, plasma pistol and storm shield.

Finally managed to get my pledge sorted out, I've had a few airbrush problems so had to steer clear of my main Black Legion force.

So first of all is a counts as Chaos Lord, having just finished reading the Primogenitor novel I really wanted to knock up a few apothecaries from different legions and chapter who work under Fabius Bile.

Togusa-san, how do you get the metallic reflection on the turquoise? They all look great, especially the special Contemptor.

I have been away for a week so have not made much progress but I did manage to undercoat the two squads (first black and then grey) and start tinkering on count as Heavy Arc Rifles for the count as Breachers and a Bone’head head for that squad.

For my Alpha Legion I primed black, then airbrushed Vallejo metallic air steel over that. Then I base coated with a 3:2 mix of Createx Pearlized Pearl Blue / Createx Iridescent Green. Then I did a zenethial highlight of 1:1 mix of the above. For shadowing I add a drop of the base mix with a drop of the blue, and highlights a drop of the highlight mix with a drop of the green; both just brushed where it needed it.

I, Eidolon, Lord Commander of the Third Legion, Pledge to complete what I started ..... namely, a corrupted Apothecary and a Deredeo dreadnaught!

 

Really busy period in the real world, hence the delay in writing stuff and posting pics. I will probably add more, particularly of the apothecaries, as I am re-doing a previously painted apothecary, I have one i'm doing for the march of the legions and i've a biker to convert a little! Haven't got pics of these bad boys handy at the moment, hence just putting two things into the ring!

 

This guy was all but done, but a lack of parts, namely the backpack prevented him from being finished at the end of the last tale. I've since been re-doing bits of the white armour and i'll probably do some more tinkering with the skin tones. Anyhow, here is how he stood at the start of the month....

Everyones favourite Deredeo, Ancient Kurama - alas it hasn't been my favourite project!! The missile pod didn't arrive promptly for the last tale, so that delayed him. Then me redoing the pink delayed it, then i decided i didn't like the head,then i've pulled of the etched brass and lastly some super glue got spilt on it, which didn't help. I've spent what limited time I've had today picking the glue off and re-doing the paint that got wrecked.

I'm certainly hoping to get more stuff done in this nice clear up month! Still got my big plans!! I've yet to decide the exact nature of the project, I still fancy an Airborne themed force, but it'll largely depend on who I want to lead the army, I've got Solomon Demeter, Julius Kaesoron and Marius Vairosean in the pipeline! Decisions, decisions!!

After having to wait on several ebay auctions, and a small wait on Dark Imperium, I now have everything I need to begin my project. I'm going to have plenty of hobby time tomorrow, and will begin to post updates.

 

I do have all my Primaris Marines from one box all built, so I can at least start working on them.

I am changing gears completely on my vow pretty close to the 11th hour, as anyone who saw my last post in my thread knows that I am setting aside the marines for now and focusing on Eldar. Long and short of it is that I've wanted to do Eldar for years and I'm pretty well burnt out on marines at the moment. The original plan was to do a Corsair list when the FW Xenos book came out, but no such possibility was in that book. Instead, I'll be doing an Ynnari list so I can make use of the loads of both Eldar and Dark Eldar models that I own and it will be a counts-as Corsair army. Now for the official part: 

 

I, Brother Chaplain Kage, vow to complete a Void Dreamer (Warlock) of the Sunblitz Brotherhood Corsairs for month 1 of the challenge. 

 

I plan to have a good number of conversions for the army but due to how late in the game I'm making the swap, this first entry will be little more than a test of the paint job.

Don't remember my first vow and the site on my mobile is not the friendliest for going through pages...

I have assembled and primed a 10 man IW cataphractii squad, 6 dudes for quad launchers, 3 quad launchers and am have alsmot built a full 10 man Fists breached squad... this squad kinda came out of nowhere but is full of individuality and character and I'm plannin on the iron IVth being polar... SPARTAn and utilitarian in their presentation in line with their fluff.

Have been developing some ideas on the differences between my siege of Terra armies and have my Fists and angels as. Very mobile responder army with rhino tac and vet squads with assault squad, lightning, jet bikes, predators, a venerator and 2 knights.

The warriors are going to be heavy assault oriented with contemptors and termis with big blocks of tacs, tyrants, vindicators and a warhound with Perty swinging his hammer.

Of course my pics were crap so I'll try and get some together tomorrow.
