I've been on a hardship vacation for the last week and am really glad to be heading home tomorrow- I miss my dog, I miss my work, I miss my paints and minis;) I've had at the beach with wine and internet mode and have ordered a set of Iron Tyrants for my tda heavy warriors, a moritat with twin volkites, a anvillus and a glaive for my blood angels and a solar auxilia command squad and xion for the heck of it. Upon my return i will be busting butt to get the 10 man IW cat squad finished as well as the 10 man Fists breacher squad ready and I'd like to finish up the 20 man BA assault squad so I can prep the 20 tacs I have on standby. Should have he first box from overseas coming soon with the laser destroyer and javelins for the warriors. Every time I lay eyes on a squad like that, I imagine the Sergeant with tactical delusion, shiny and chrome, behind a bush, like "I AM THE STEALTHIEST MAN IN THE GALAXY!" And his poor squad just accepts that camo cloaks are a thing that's happening now. "LOOK HOW INCOGNITO WE ARE!!" "Very much, sir." "I PUT A HANDFUL OF LEAVES ON MINE." Basing has yet to be decided as I don't know if I will tie it into my Tau and have them both fighting over the same planet. I shall however have my Apothecaries done shortly, a redo of Van Galen and my latest character, Oleander Koh. I'm just being lazy with the Deredeo, really just need to scorch the las cannon barrels and stick it all together and then varnish! Should be on track to finish my own vows by friday. The abhuman auxilia is up first, pending bases, have to see what I'll do with the Armies on Parade board before I do any basing. fisheyedbunny Posted July 12, 2017 Share Posted July 12, 2017 (edited) thank you Lemainus I just paint the yellow base first then use the red run up the line to the edges, use a fine detail brush for the lines and go slow then fill the rest in with a normal brush. Only difference is I airbrush the yellow (averland sunset) over black primer then a fine detail brush and Mephiston red for the other quarter. In other news vow 2 for this month is complete. She missed me (and the open kitchen I was standing in) and ended up clearing off my hobby table with frightening efficiency.
