Steel Company
Map is up, ready for Akkad. Steel: I'd seen the Dodge alterations, and was considering proposing them for Episode III. Hadn't seen Swift Attack/Lightning Attack - it makes a lot of mechanical sense to make it like Semi/Full Auto. I'll definitely give it some thought! CM: Just remember those changes to Swift Attack and Lightning attack were done in a system that made attacking +10/0/-10 for single/Semi and swift attack/Full Auto and Lightning attack. So I'm not sure how things would change in a system where it becomes 0/+10/+20 for the same series of attacks. This is something I'd be happy to try out, but would fully understand it would need refining.
Mazer Rackham
@Mol, why thank you good sir. Akkad does his best, inviting Greysight, Varvost and Sabaan to aid in the vanquishing of the enemy. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/344357-dw-blackthorn-and-swordhand/?p=5652906 MR. A.T.
Atratus back to windmilling at his opponent. Glad we aren't using the alternate lightning attack rules for this fight at WS 10... :p Edited January 12, 2021 by A.T.
Commissar Molotov
Just as a note, the Tyrant has stopped the Paroxysmal, so Atratus is at his normal WS for this fight - I will leave it for you to edit!
A.T.
Just as a note, the Tyrant has stopped the Paroxysmal, so Atratus is at his normal WS for this fight - I will leave it for you to edit! Updated. Hope Atratus isn't blowing all his good dice in one short spell - he's had hardly any righteous fury the whole game and now it's every other attack. Warrior M takes a total of 47 damage from the initial barrage (taking them to 62 wounds overall I believe) If that kills them i'll switch targets to K for the bonus hit and run/furious assault attack (20 damage after adjustments) and i'll update the text to reflect that. Commissar Molotov
I've checked and your post didn't seem to have altered in the ways that I was expecting. Please see my post in the thread. Your first four attacks all hit - I have resolved damage for the first two, you just need to roll damage for the next. The Warrior is at 30/48(+10 Critical) so it needs another 28ish (depending on critical results) to be dead dead. Then you can try your Hit and Run. Let me know and I can change my post. A.T.
I've checked and your post didn't seem to have altered in the ways that I was expecting. Sorry - I had appended the extra rolls to the end of the post (along with a summary) rather than editing them into the middle of the original one. 8, 10 / 10, 1 Righteous fury dice: 8 / 2 So 34 damage and 28 damage for the additional two hits, before armour and toughness - righteous fury on both of them. Commissar Molotov
Thanks for that, I have amended everything and worked out most of the Furious Charge. Steel, will Tyber participate? He could charge Warrior N to try to free up Solastion. You players also need to focus on some strategy as to how you want to go about fighting the Hive Tyrant! A.T.
Thanks for that, I have amended everything and worked out most of the Furious Charge. Almost - I need to better format my posts in the future. 20 was the damage after armour / toughness - the original charge benefitted from the death from above and came out to 37 damage, Pen 3 I think putting that summary in has just made my post harder to read rather than easier :/ You players also need to focus on some strategy as to how you want to go about fighting the Hive Tyrant! Amazed nobody has taken a potshot at it yet. Perhaps all form up in an organised firing line... Edited January 12, 2021 by A.T. Mazer Rackham
You players also need to focus on some strategy as to how you want to go about fighting the Hive Tyrant! Wha? Liberal application of death isn't enough? Amazed nobody has taken a potshot at it yet. Perhaps all form up in an organised firing line... I was saving up the drama! Don't worry...I have a cunning plan... MR. Steel Company 1 Back to top
Commissar Molotov
Ah, I didn't think of Death from Above. So many extraneous rules! Either way, the beast is dead. I think N is now the last surviving Warrior... Steel Company and Mazer Rackham 2 Back to top
A.T.
Ah, I didn't think of Death from Above. So many extraneous rules! Atratus is a tricksy hobbitses with his ability to jump in and out of fights. Makes his combat logs about three times as long as he does laps around the battlefield but it's much more interesting that my last character (techmarine) with his combo of swing, miss, tank hit, repeat. Steel Company
CM: That depends entirely on the distance between Tyber and Warrior N. Tyber's base charge is 15m, doubled to 30 from the Jump Pack, each square you said was 10m at the start of the combat... if he uses Burst of speed, that would boost his agility to base 6+1 from size meaning his movement would go to 7/14/21 (14/28/42 Jump pack)... warrior N is about 50m away, roughly, if I assume that Tyber was circle to circle with Warrior X... looks like he's about 8M short of being able to engage Warrior N... so sadly he can't engage with the assault. But he can engage Warrior K, if it is still alive. Never mind, I did the math, it was already at 12 base damage before getting pounded on. Commissar Molotov
After realising what Atratus had actually done I've re-worked the Atratus/Vorr/Teralil actions to inflict the appropriate amount of damage to Warrior K (who is miraculously still alive...) Also, if you're curious, I have posted a link on Reddit's r/40krpg advertising for new players for Episode III...! Not sure if it'll bear fruit, but it is important to cast a wide net! Steel Company
As an aside, with the new information from the WH30k games, I love the whole new lore for the DA. It gives me ideas for some retcons to The Dragons of Caliban now, and an idea for some personal heraldry for Tyber later. Taking the one used by the Host of Crowns, since their lore fits really well with what I think of for Tyber. Mazer Rackham 1 Back to top

Commissar Molotov
Updated through to Round 10. It is worth noting that both Solastion and Varvost have to charge the closest enemy once Warrior N is killed. Plus, Tyber will be eyeing that Master-level enemy with some excitement! Thirdly, I will take any and all recommendations for boss battle music.
Mazer Rackham
With Strongpoint, the BS 'to Hit' Bonuses are so high, the assault guys can pile into that thing I can just keep shooting. Although I recommend lots of shooting first. Don't forget if you join the SQD mode, you get +20 BS and WS against the Tyrant, plus you can re-roll your damage. As to a soundtrack for this epic battle...I volunteer a chainsaw orchestra. MR.
