I've sent out the first email on the new email chain - hopefully you all received it!

Looking forward to your posts over this weekend, and seeing what you all come up with!

Received the email, and have been catching up on the thread – some really lovely writing, all.

Quick thanks to Mol for the excellent quick reference in the updated opening post of the character topic. A great thing if, like me, you're rubbish with names! :)

Minor query – should Yeng be noted as 'Claviger-Gentle [apothecary]', for the same reason as Solastion is Sanguinary Priest? Or is that too granular for the summary?

Mol, I'll set some of my post in the Apothecarion – are there any NPC apothecaries in attendance? Are you happy for me to outline the non-Astartes staffing and general appearance of the area? Finally, who is making the summons to the others for the revivification? Is this something you'd like me to RP through Yeng, or is it the task of an NPC?

Necronaut, I'd like Yeng to visit Azurea's Shrine – it's very different to what he's used to, and he's got an inquisitive nature. I think the Gatebreakers' attitude to death – something that is inevitable, but that should be delayed as long as possible – would be nice to play off the Doom Eagles' more fatalistic (but not nihilistic) outlook. Are you happy for me to establish a fairly cordial relationship between the two?

I'm thinking a sort of 'odd couple' of the amenable (even impish) Yeng with Helgrim's more hardline attitude. I thought it'd be a good way to show how Helgrim might be forced to weigh his duty – of care for different Chapters' spirituality – in the Deathwatch against his personal thoughts and the Doom Eagle's philosophy. It would also force the Gatebreaker to understand that the Core Imperium is not forced into pragmatic defence (as are the Endworlds of the Rim, where the Gatebreakers operate); but rather that it has strength enough for expansion.

- Solastion is noted as a Sanguinary Priest because it's a special sub-class of Apothecary in the Deathwatch game. I'm happy to add Yeng's appropriate titles, though!

- I mention that Azurea is a small station, so there's not likely to be too many (Astartes) Apothecaries, though I imagine the serfs are rather well-trained. Obviously you've had Solastion with you in the last nine weeks as well. I'm happy for you to add any details you'd like about the Apothecarion. My thoughts are that Yeng (who obviously did the bionic replacements for Montesa and Varvost) has also worked on Embe and Boros - particularly Boros, I know that AHorriblePerson mentioned he will be receiving a bionic arm and a bionic heart from his injuries on the hive ship. You've also had the opportunity to do the more delicate surgeries on Varvost's eye whilst you've been here.

- I'm happy for Yeng to be summoning the brothers of Swordhand (not Blackthorn) - this would be Montesa, Teralil and Vorr.

- I've seen your notes about character upgrades in the IC thread and will work out some options for you.

Oh I would love to do an odd-couple back and forth between Helgrim and Yeng.

Pyke is a late addition; Ancient Sobek, his player, is a long-time friend of mine and was going to play a different character. He's got a post in the character thread now.

Loving all the posts so far, guys!

Reyner - I've emailed you a link to Vorr's character sheet!

Apologist - I have emailed you some suggested upgrades.

Would you guys please stop writing such a lot of great posts - reading them keeps me from writing my own ;)

I seem to have stretched my notes over tablets and mobile phone - could  I get a quick heads up what Rank / up to which Rank are Blackthorn characters now able to spend their do on?

@apologist, I just posted, and took the liberty of mentioning an interaction between Yeng and Helgrim in the Apothecarion per your placeholder. Feel free to DM me to flesh that out a bit more if you like.

@ashlander47, let's collab on the first (second?) interaction between Helgrim and Incariel when you're free. We can keep it to DMs if you like.

Cheers got it! His sheet says he has MK5 armour not MK6 can I edit that?

You should be able to edit anything on there - I'd just check if he's got the requisite Agility Modifier (Mk6 should give him +10AG)

Let me know via email if you need any help.

Think I'm almost over Corona now feel loads better today compared to yesterday. How do these skills sound for my 2000xp:

Sound constitution

Hip shooting (does this work with heavy weapons I assume it does?)

Target selection (for some danger close fire support!)

Sounds good, mon frère. I'll shoot you a DM tomorrow at some point, I haven't the time or focus to do much this evening except reading the great introductory posts in the thread. I'll get word to you soon.

Type on, brothers.

Yep, Hipshooting will work with Heavy Weapons using single shot.

Glad you're on the mend Reyner. :)

MR.

Ta :) luckily I didn't lose my smell and taste but can't say the same for my wife. Must be so odd not being able to taste anything.

I'm pretty sure I had it back in October, as for about two weeks I couldn't taste a darn thing... and yeah, that was really weird to see what I'm eating, but not taste it.

You boys are lucky.

Back in my day we couldn't afford tastebuds.  Shaved 'em off so we didn't have to taste the stuff we were eating, and we had to share a spoon between thirty of us.

Don't know you're born, you lot. :tongue.:

After eating MRE's there were times I wish I didn't have tastebuds...
