[DW] Blackthorn and Swordhand: OOC Thread

I think the enemy is a wraith guard (the Eldar equivalent of a terminator basically) not a wrath lord which is more like a dreadnought. I’m unclear whether it is just one wraithguard or a standard 5 man unit, and is it the shooty kind or the close combat version?

I’ve already added my part with the Strking Scorpions, but from there Pyke was headed toward the main force so if anyone would like to have him show up in the background of their post feel free.

I meant guard

I was thinking of entering Squad Mode and activating Bolter Assault with a Fate Point to get it up as a Free Action while moving into position. Since we aren't in a real fight the specifics aren't so necessary, but narratively my intent is have it so that as soon as Varvost clears the firing line, Incariel uses Lycus's and Ekieo's distracting and disabling fire to pinpoint a spot of weakness on the solitary (it is alone, right?) Wraithguard and direct the squad to quickly concentrate fire on that spot, hopefully overwhelming it with bolter fire. You can toss grenades as part of the Bolter Assault as well (don't ask why) so I think a Krak Grenade or two would seal the deal -- I forget how tough Wraithguard are but if they are Termie equivalent as Sobek says I think it'll be prudent.

Thoughts? I'll stick a placeholder in regardless and update it later today.

EDIT: Of all the timing. Just saw your post CM! Nevermind haha, we'll make a cool squad mode assault some other time. Consider the above null and void. :teehee:

Sorry Ashlander - just part and parcel of us working across time-zones!

I guess I'll just have to give you a real combat for you to stretch your tactical muscles!

EDIT: Which is also to say - if you message Nineswords I'm sure he'd be more than happy to work Incariel into his post!

Atratus picks up a few bonus xp from two-weapon fighter and forging the bond and uses them to pick up +5 Perception and the Scrutiny skill at trained, the advances I was originally going to take but couldn't afford to with the cost of the war stratagem.

Nice, Titus gets slightly better with his bolt pistol and knife!

I'll probably use the 500XP from Forging the Bond for the first step of Signature Wargear, makes sure Titus always has his Huntsman/Stalker and I can have a bit more fun when we get around to Reqs... (will edit my character sheet later today when I get my placeholder filled)

Petragor: I'm of the mind that you wouldn't need to roll* Your familiarity with Imperial vessels of the void would give you an understanding of the craft; it would be charitable to call it an escort - it would be something akin to a corvette or (according to my quick googling) a sloop. Basically, imagine the smallest 40k-type vessel that could be fitted with a warp engine. Its weapons are pitiful, but it is designed to convey passengers as quickly as possible from place-to-place. The reports coming in to Azurea (many from the new Astartes arrivals) of the unsettled warp currents would likely also factor in to your estimations that for Inquisitor Grist, this is likely a matter of urgency - and that arriving as quickly as possible to Azurea was key.

*Because of the skills you've acquired.

So a Raider-category vessel, perhaps similair to the Viper Scout Sloop

Good to know, I'll continue working on my post.
