Has anyone gone for horde clearance stuff?

I know we've got Boros' HB, anyone taking Flamer?

Now I'm wondering if I should swap to Dragonfire Rounds (Respected so we can have them now, right?) for my TacM freebies, just as a balance in case we come up against multiple weaker enemies...?

Additionally, what is the craftsmanship of the Crozius Arcanum, considering they are chaplain-only gear and have no requisition value, being functionally signature Wargear?

Edit: and there was that sidebar staring right at me on p. 147! Thanks!

I would say, having looked at it, that the profile provided in the Errata is for a "standard" Crozius, even if that is a contradiction-in-terms. An Exceptional or Master-Crafted Crozius would be where we look at relics or the like.

My thought was that Yeng would pick up some Metal Storm ammo – precisely to fill in a perceived gap in horde clearance, and secondly because (as he'll make clear in the RP chat), old wrecks are notoriously dangerous, particularly around gravity distortions. Stuff that doesn't break hull-plate is to be favoured. Close-up and personal in melee is the way to deal with hardier stuff.

That's more or less what I was thinking too, just wanted to run that by you first.

Good thing we're hunting a ship then, lots of long straight lines

Not far from Ork speech there Reyner, be careful around the Inquisitor

After some discussion with Mol, Yeng is going to dig out Begtse, his chainsword (and one of Exceptional quality), and request the following:

An Exceptional-quality Narthecium (for keeping people alive)

A hand flamer (for horde clearance)

Two hopper mines (for... uh... ASPLODIN things).

That leaves 2 REQ to contribute towards the boarding shears or a similar group purchase. If we need more, I'm happy to drop a mine and contribute 7. Space Marine Apothecaries strike me as making quite good 'pack mules' for kit, as they tend to be in a central position, away from the front but within easy distance of individuals.

According to the Chicken Run translator it would look something like this:

Sez ah'm allowed terminator armour 'n eur cyclone missile launcha pass it o'a champion.

Bloody hell it's not far off Ork speech there not sure what's worse Yorkshire or Cockney Orks...

Apologist - I've emailed giving you a few options. I would strongly encourage you to upgrade your Chainsword to exceptional quality at the very least. AHP has referred to purchasing the Bulkhead Shears as a group purchase, so that's certainly something that could be done.

Yeng's knowledge of voidcraft is definitely something that could come into play, both narratively and mechanically, once the Kill-Team reach the Abyss. Regarding Wisdom of the Ancients, the rules seem to specify "during a combat", so I'm going to do some reading around to see if I can find out how other GMs have applied it.

CM:

In the past I've worked with WotA (Wisdom of the Ancients) in a way similar to divination in D&D, give an answer that is both helpful if a little vague.

For example:

(Player): Where is the most likely ambush position that the stealth suits would set up?

(me, as GM): Form inside of you, you have a feeling that it would be to your left, and very close by.

Blackthorn could probably do with a multikey, auspex, and melta bombs scattered around appropriate members if we are looking for things.

Does anyone have the demolitions skill? I could swap out one of Atratus' new purchases for it but his INT stat (which it is based on) is average at 45.

An eludicator (translation device) may also have use, but is costly.

What does Blackthorn think about using whatever's left over of the squad-wide pool to get a hold of one of those advanced assets from RoB? If our targets get wind that we're coming and try to escape or offer strong resistence, having say Orbital Surveillance to track any incoming/offloading vessels, or just give us a greater image of the Hive and the House Desiato estate could help. Or something like a Vox Transmission Net could leverage the fact we're with a card carrying Inquisitorial agent and allow us to coordinate with loyal PDF or other elements on the Hive, in any case, and can't be jammed as easily. If this pretend Rogue Trader is as resourceful as he appears to be, he's likely got an exit strategy, we should consider Meggdon's status as a major hive city and all the chaos that will entail when we make landfall to pinch him.

As a Hullian, I can confirm that I have a lot of experience with Yorkshire Orks

Looks like we're sitting at 124 excess points currently before Brother Pallan's equipment.

Well, I've got Wrathful Descent, and with my Power Sword dealing an additional hit, I should be able to do some real magnitude damage on a charge.

Take your Liquid Greenstuff.  It'll be fine. :biggrin.:

Wait - isn't that what Repair Cement actually is...?

*cue x-files music*

MR.

Speaking of repair cement, considering we'll be very close to a lack of atmosphere quite often, maybe we should pack some extra, in case someone gets a leak?

Either of those particular choices is costed at 15 Req, so even if Pallan bottoms out and takes his full 45, we still would have a bit left over.

I'm happy to swap out my choice of grenades for an Auspex, it might prove more useful in the longterm than one stinkin' stikk bomb. Auspex coupled with the Cartograph and one of the advanced in-orbit requisition choices could give us a great package of information on the Hive, and the Desiato estate.

We have a fair bit of spare requisition at the moment so no need to drop anything yet.

There is also the siege auspex (13 req) which can be used to locate hidden passageways and saferooms, which may well be worth taking.

Okay, so Swordhand is sitting on 120 spare Req at the moment - that'd be more than enough to pay for the Bulkhead Shears. Perhaps Argus or Gideon could carry it, seeing how light their own equipment is?

In case we're still worried about horde-clearing capabilities, I could also spend a further 43 on Boros for that dragonfire ammo supply? Might be worth discussing.

After all of that, we'd still have 60 Req left over. Other ideas would be another flame weapon (on Achillion or Kol, maybe?), additional clips of special ammo for the tacticals and a teleport homer in case we need a quick getaway.

Does the Xenocide have a teleportarium? If so it isn't in the stats.

I'd be happy to upgrade to a combi-flamer.
