How are you getting on with this and where's the sword from? Only... Two Weeks to go! Terrible and horrible. Barely have anything done! Vow Completed: Not gluing the front piece to the main body was a mistake even if it meant not getting the dangling chain on his groin done properly. The lines on the sides are too much for me. I see what you mean about the lines. It's a tricky one to overcome; perhaps paint the troublesome parts, assemble, then paint the rest? Annoying, I know - Karlaen's cape is another one ... but enough about that as the model looks really great I like how you've painted the fabric (I often attempt that method) and the gems really pop out Congrats on earning your award! Razorback is done, and I am down to touching up the black where the paintbrush slipped. Pics will have to wait until the weekend, as that retail management life owns my soul this week. Loads of time to get the pictures up still, so don't worry about it. Looking forward to seeing them 10 days to go I think - they need to be done by end of Friday 30th local time? Or is the deadline a specific time on Friday? Low stress challenge, uuuhuh. First batch of 7 is basically done, just need more bases. 2nd batch assembled, primed and red airbrushed, pre shade. Balancing the red with a hairy stick took me like 4 nights on the first round, did them on these in an hour with the airbrush so still hope to make it! Red is darker in the flesh, it's pure mephiston as the highlight. Image borked As for the closing time, I've specifically not mentioned it More on that later but for now, everyone needs to aim to get their vows done for that date! Updated to here Sneaky. Fixed link, I hope. Done most of the metals, jetpack glow on all and Lemartes' crozius since this pic taken. Will do an updated pic later hopefully. The lines on the sides are too much for me. This should be easy to fix with PVA glue. Just mix PVA glue with water and use a brush to apply it to the gap. Bird 1 Great work, they're gorgeous, but what I don't understand is that 90% of the people I see using GW's transfers, this image of Sanguinius is always facing backwards. (no airbrushing). Took quite a bit to get the layering down right. Been painting literally every spare moment I can this last couple of weeks, but with twin 3 year olds there's not as many of those as I used to have! Faces on batch 2, then edge highlighting to finish on everybody, then I can finish tidying up the black. Then finally, varnish, finish metals and gems, then weathering. I've started on the last batch of bases. Repair work from a rogue brush seems to take forever, thus the masking tape on the power weapons so I don't make *that* mistake again. Panzer Posted November 28, 2018 Share Posted November 28, 2018 Got the bitz I was waiting for today and finished my Intercessors except for decals and proper bases tho I'll do those later eventually. They are considered tabletop ready now so I only have to take pictures and make a post. It didn't feel right not doing some additional stuff after they've been 'finished' at the end of the ETL and I just failed to upload a pic in time. However full disclousure I messed up by adding those bitz afterwards so the overall quality of the paintjob and poses went downhill a lot. I wound up with eight chaps in total, I found a bonus power fist member. Naturally, the cellphone camera and lighting take away a significant amount of detail, but I am very happy with how they look on the table. Only things I'd add would be decals and proper bases but that would be the cherry on the top and not something I'd consider necessary.The chapter emblem used to be the Knights of Blood one from Shapeways, however it's basically impossible to remove them from the sprue and clean them up without breaking the sword parts off of it. Luckily these are Knights of Baal tho so I guess it works nicely as slightly changed chapter emblem in this case. :P Also I decided to go with using the small shields for the squad markings (the colour has to be enough for now) instead of the right knee pad to make them more knightly and unique.
