Picked up #15 in FP yesterday. I don't even play deathguard and wasn't aware that i was collecting them until recently.

Put together the easy build blight hauler the other day and enjoyed it far too much.

note: They are out of #5 now on the shelves.

Forbidden Planet is a surprisingly good place for stock for me. On Tuesday I was able to walk in and find three issue 5 (lieutenant) and around five of the Librarian on the shelves, along with various other issues. Look like they get a steady supply of back issues, at least in my local store.
Just finished cataloguing the articles in the folder they give you, nice idea but the choice of organisation is confusing, like 'painting with leadbelcher' page, which is depicting partially painted intercessors, goes before the 'painting intercessor' pages. Edited by Viridia

Just watched their video thingee for the first time, it was more interesting than i expected tbh, apparently after the Terminators and Containers we should expect more Reivers a tub of astrogranite, a new brush and a rules leaflet, presumably the full 40k rules.

The Opt out thing for the art book is cheeky... I mean the book might be good but im not buying it blind...

It does feel a bit underhand. Almost like they're hoping to get a few extra sales from people who just throw away the letters without reading them or forget to cancel. An opt in option for the book would have felt a lot more honest.

If they make you pay for return delivery it will be very cheaky. I understand returning the subscription issues not being free but this out of the blue item is a bit crap.

Toxit Hobbit do you have a link to the book? I saw the rumor that it was an art book but didn't see we had an exact name to the book.

Bit disappointing that there are so many repeats this early on considering the range we should be eventually getting.

Finally found a stockist but unfortunately they're up to issue 17 somehow which is just another container.

Edit: here's the background image from the homepage:

I don't know whether it's been mentioned in this thread, but Issue 20 is another set of Munitorum Armoured Container stuff.

No link, because it comes from the letter you get with this month's delivery rather than something online. I would take a photo but it's not exactly a clear image, just a black and white photocopy. The artbook doesn't have any kind of name on the front, just Warhammer 40,000 Conquest. It's just refered to as a limited edition artbook in the text. There's also no mention of a cut-off date as to when you need to cancel by, but this might vary from person to person as the date that people recieve their subscriptions seems to vary.

I'd guess the repeats comes from them finishing off units before moving onto new stuff. It kind of makes sense from a certain pserpective, even if it has lead to a bit of a lull. I've been enjoying the Deathguard releases much more than the Primaris for this reason. Hard to get excited by my third set of Easy to Build Intercessor's or Reavers. That said, early Deathguard issues were the same, when it was repeats of the Poxwalkers or Plague Marines (and again, I now have three sets of each).

Yeah thanks ToxicHobbit, we are verified upto Issue 23 I think now. No idea how the guy got all these later issues are people upto Issue 21? I've only just gotten 10....

This is a magazine for beginners so I think they just want to get the basic units sorted and move on to the ones that have the more sophisticated rules later.

I have been playing the missions with my wife who has never played any warhammer before but she collects the models. Some missions, especially the starting ones, have not been tested properly but they get alot better as they add the more advanced rules. We spent almost 20 minutes slogging it out with 3 Reivers and 3 Plague Marines in close combat because we couldn't kill each other. A few Issues later they introduce rapid fire and plasma and it becomes alot more fun, less of a slog.

Just remember when all these doubles are done, there's nothing later to bring it down.

I am actually interested in the Art Book, says its in a sleeve so sounds "fancy".

I got it slightly wrong:

From DakkaDakka: Also, with the new double sided play mat, the side with extra details shows positions for the placement of three new terrain sets - STC Ryza pattern ruins, Thermic Plasma Conduits and Battlefield accessories.

That may indicate what scenery we are getting next.

Individually I'm finding there are issues that have allowed me to expand into Primaris for my Deathwatch collection to make a quick fortis kill team without spending big retail money.  A couple of the cheap early magazines, aggressors which I hope to convert at some point and the latest one gives me two kill teams for a lot less than you can pick the models up on ebay when people split the large boxes.

The Death Guard cohort looks like an excellent buy, my 40k DG force is the older FW stuff, but I really like the new models - just haven't been able to afford them.  I am hoping to pick up a Primaris Librarian if a store still has them.

Is conquest really worth it?

In terms of raw value, yes. You make a significant saving versus buying all the kits separately and some individual issues can save you as much as 68% against retail price (£25 Tainted Cohort for 8 quid).

That said, obviously if you have no interest in Death Guard or Primaris, it's not going to be of value to you.
