So, it'll be something for the Fists today, probably the SoH character next week? Then more tanks? We're starting to run out of chassis now given the retooling announcement (disappointing as it was that the Javelin is remaining resin, the others I could kinda understand even if I hoped for plastic) so maybe we'll start seeing some infantry soon or characters for Legions sorely missing them.

Whipped up a MkIII heavy squad for a game this afternoon.

I found some excellent shoulder mounted heavy weapon STLs a while back.  Initially I just printed lascannons, but now I’m thinking I’ll print up some Volkite, Multi-meltas and maybe a few more sets to magnetize the squad for easy swaps.

My store’s community seems to range from total scrub to tuned vets, so being able to swap weapons without having to make a whole new squad is pretty appealing!

Looking good.

Impressive feat to print and paint this big squad before afternoon.

I’ve been working on some additions to my Raven Guard, in preparation for Warhammer fest.

I’ve made a lascannon support squad as well. These are basically straight out of the box, with a few resin heads here and there. I used a Mor Deythan one for the sergeant to represent an infravisor.

Im also working on a command squad. I’ve made a couple of test models with twin claws and a power axe. The left hand claw took a bit of work, cutting up the fist and sticking it back together the other way round.

For the axe I searched a lot to find one I liked, unsuccessfully. The I just cut off the curved part of the blade, which has created a bit more of a utilitarian appearance that I quite like.

C+C welcome.

Making some SoH veterans with power mauls, lighting claws and banestrike bolter ammo. I still need one guy but for now the painted one is fine as sarge. And an extra troops squad with some heavy reinforcements.

Soon...painting!!

@AGRAMARl the edges, studs and boltgun are neat and tidy so I'd say your brush skills are fine. If you can get two light sources on the model from different angles that will improve the photos. You can of course go deep into making lightboxes etc. if you wanted to but just experimenting with different lighting is a simple first step.

Is that a decorative cake pillar he's standing on? It's great for showing off minis.

@AGRAMAR the most important skill is basically to keep it simple and tidy. The paints these days make it easier than ever to get great coverage and get smooth results, so just keeping the colours blocked in does the rest. Good paint jobs are as simple as a solid base coat and a recess shade.

You don't need eavy metal line highlights, airbrush gradients, osl, or nmm.

Thanks! Taking notes of the counsels! Is good to see I'm not absolutely rusted after 8 years XD

That's a candleholder i found in second hand store time ago. Is broken but still useful. And handily enough to use it for candles and miniatures!

Thank you so much! That miniature is just for testing one ( it was paint and I just painted ovet)but you're absolutely right about painting. I want to keep it simple for twi reasons: one is for having units ready in short time and the other to use as less color to be possible, because I live in a quiet but a bit isolated area and ordering paints and other stuff  every few weeks, is quite painful XD

Time to post some WIP pics of my Heresy Ultramarines. I finally got around to assembling the Contemptor I bought years ago. Weapons are magnetized and the head will be painted separately. I also kitbashed a Cataphractii Primus Medicae to go with either a command squad or a Cataphractii squad.  And last but not least, my take on a Locutarus Storm Squad :)

Been away for a few months to sort my head out. Feeling much better in myself now, so thought it was time I picked up a brush again :) getting back to my beloved XVth Legion.
