I'm putting paint on my various new models, and having a hard time settling on some details.

For the mk6 seeker/veteran I'm unsure if I should keep the marking on the faceplate. Something about it bothers me, and I think the whole black helmet would work a bit better.

The destroyer is obviously a a slightly trimmed angel tear. I'm thinking of switching out the right pad for the destroyer symbol one, as the current one is a touch flamboyant for the rest of the model. I was planning on doing the helmet up to a bright silver, with some bloody mary tears coming from the eyes as a call back to the Bleeding Eyes from the Night Lords trilogy. But the silver helmet is part of the blood angel scheme, so a little concerned of them just looking like blue angel tears lol.

Id appreciate any ideas or feedback!

@SimaskMohawk I like the terror marking a lot on the MKVI guy, maybe toning down the contrast by adding some grime would help it sit better with you? I'd defo recommend removing the shoulder pad from the Destroyer, feels too fancy. Bloody tears and the gory trophies should help distinguish him from the BA and cement his legion identity.

@tinpact  That's a nice build, I'd go for the bare or hooded head!

@Cruor Vault That gold and blue are gorgeous!

Thanks @Pearson73. I don't have much grime in my scheme; the blue gets a orange-brown oil wash that's present, and there's blood at the end. If anything the marking would get brighter on the brow from highlights. So I think I'll just scrap it and leave the markings for helmets that go on terror marines.

@SkimaskMohawk I do like the mask. Maybe doing him up in corpse paint like the one on the left could work? Red would stand out against white more.

The shoulder pad might be good for the sergeant, although on a Night Lord it strikes me as something of an ironic decoration.

The more I think about it, the more I don't think the bone/white works with my scheme. The blue and gold work together and grab enough attention with their internal contrast. The white just clashes.

Definitely agree on the shoulder pad, thankfully I can just pop it off.

I think the marking makes it look a bit Raven Guard-esque (Corvid skull shape?) - it’s really well done though!

Definitely shares some of the vibe, though as infiltrating units in mk6 with a lot of black in the scheme, it might be inevitable.

Hey, it’s a great look! I think it probably just pulls the focus too much from the rest of the palette - and when the rest looks amazing too, you probably don’t want that to happen. Looking forward to the rest now!

I definitely agree with it pulling away from the rest of the scheme.

I'm looking forward to completing a model soon, but both of my pots of rakarth flesh managed to dry themselves out and need to be replaced. Seeing as it's an important part of the colour for bone, it kind of stalled me on any model that has bones or skulls on it. Guess that narrows it down to the destroyer lol.

Working on a 'Warborne' Master of Signals for some Nemesis Ultramarines.

I used the Chonky Axe Praetor, trimmed most of his gubbins off, then combined with a couple spare parts from the Invictarii and UM Praetor kits and a dash of the new MKVI.

My first Word Bearer, I think I'll call him finished. A Diabolist who channels the spirits of slaughter, fury and vengeance. Perhaps he ended up a bit dark.

I've also noticed that the carapace of the calth dread should be compatible with the new heresy dread, so I'll try swapping that over on the next ones

I've been reading up on the Moritat because I love the idea of them (and really want to make a Sixth Legion arsonist backed up by his "vandals").

I'm considering a Hand Flamer and then something nasty, either Plasma or Disintegrator Pistol.

I know rules wise he can't use the Hand Flamer when making a Chain Fire attack (which is a shame, I wish there was a way that he could get one attack with it) but I love the theme of it too much to not make it up.

More progress on the destroyer, though it's still a WIP. All the colours are down for the most part, and it's really coming together for me. Obviously, I changed the helmet to black, as the silver was really not working out the brighter I made it; the black ties into the destroyer theme more and is framed by the gold trim a whole lot better. Not too much left to do now; lightning, volkite and highlighting the silver before I varnish it and add some blood and weathering powders.

Those Night Lords look amazing @SkimaskMohawk and @Kabin Miniatures ! That's a beautiful NL scheme in both cases.

I've been thinking of ways to make some Military Field Police - as they featured back in Rogue Trader, as a lot of the classic minis (and even lore) seems to be getting worked back into the new releases, even if its just as an easter egg. I have read of the Consul Opsiqueri being employed with the Space Wolves, prior to the discovery of Russ and when they had a reputation for not following orders! Was thinking for my own force, where its likely that they might have been deployed with the World Eaters after the Ghenna massacre, and the Legion got told to go and stand on the naughty step (thanks @malika666 for this idea!)

Will be doing in Epic scale (well 8mm) so the hazard stripes will probably be out.. Not sure if they would have a red helm as standard or if that was because they were deployed with the Blood Angels?

Working on a Couple of Sicaran Arcus, pretty soon I'm going to have more finished tanks than infantry models.  Some days I think I picked the wrong Legion, but then I realize they wouldn't have been blue!

Finished off the destroyer! The lightning and blood really helped tie it all together and made it look like a real night lord at the end. I think I could go back and fix the eyes a little bit, so there's a bit more volume to the glow, but they're so hard to completely see anyways that it's really just nitpicking.
