Given that me, Steel and Ferykus all have die hard, that in particular may be something we get given in top, possibly as part of the Sanguine regimental commander trait.

Molotov arranged our base talents/skills for homeworld/past regiment and doctrine off those questions we answered, so I'm not 100% sure where everything comes from.

I debated how hard it would be to get to Gunslinger a Tier 3 talent in this game but considering the relatively short nature I doubted I would get there. I kind of wanted Glitch to be a duel Pistol wielder for fighting style, kind of match his cowboy appearance and the fact he would have been more use to shooting from atop a bike. But that would take ambidextrous and two weapon fighting as well to not have too many negatives. Still would be worth it if it wasn't for the fact it asks for finesse and I don't see that on Operators. meaning it gets more expensive not less.

Speaking as someone that has a character with gunslinger on them (Tyber in the death watch pbp game), it is interesting but not super fantastic unless you can really drive you BS target number high up... this is even more important in OW/BC with the changes to single/semi/full auto.

I was looking at customization of weapons in the only war core rulebook and was thinking maybe Glitch did that to his personal weapon.

Home Materials, Custom Grip, Trigger Adjustment, and Sacred Inscription.

I would have four rolls against a Routine check for Trade (Armorer) I think.

Oh totally fair. I am just twiddling my thumbs in idle thought until CM says one way or the other. Besides I was thinking my character would be doing these things himself out of local resources. Edited by TechCaptain

Hi TechCaptain,

This game is certainly able to slot new characters in; though as others have mentioned this is only meant as a one-shot. There may be the opportunity for it to continue (under me or another GM) but there won't be any XP advancement or levelling up beyond what you get at the start.

In terms of constructing your character:

Characteristics:

+3 to any two of the following Characteristics - Ballistic Skill, Willpower, Toughness

+3 Perception

-3 Toughness

+5 Agility

Aptitudes:

Agility

Ballistic Skill

Fellowship

Fieldcraft

Intelligence

Tech

Skills:

Awareness

Common Lore (War)

Common Lore (Imperium)

Common Lore (Imperial Guard)

Common Lore (Tech)

Linguistics (Low Gothic)

Navigate (Surface)

Operate (Surface)

Tech-Use

Talents:

Die Hard

Hatred (Choose One)

Lightning Reflexes

Nerves of Steel OR Sprint

Technical Knock

Weapon Training (Las OR Solid) (Low-Tech)

Wounds: 6+1D5

Feel free to use that with your rolled stats to generate your character. As you are in a Penal Legion, your character will not have any of your Specialist Equipment or anything from their former life.

You will not start with two laspistols, but scavenging, trading or stealing are all things that you can do in-game.

I will be attempting to construct an update tomorrow (can't do much over this weekend) so will move things forward then.

There ya go Tech! Looking forward to writing some interesting interactions between Glitch and Scarlett.

So am I, I added in what he said and changed up a bit what I spent for the 600xp. I think this works better. He is a fast one now.

Sprint and Lightning Reflexes lol.

Considering his background as a mechanized scout, awareness would be better...

Making a motorcycle stealthy is kind of hard...

Lunar Venatorii uses Baffled Engines (Quiet running) and he already has awareness too. lol

Not really for the purpose of this RP but look at the spoiler.

Lunar Venatorii Cavalry Regiments are provided by Forge World Mjorn as part of their standard supply several months of Gene Therapy Treatments giving them Venatorii-Class Biological Strength and Stamina Enhancements. These enhancements allow for Lunar Venatorii to move more easily around the battlefield as well as allow for extended operations behind enemy lines. Corneal Implants for boosted perception and massively increased night vision. Nerve cells were super-myelinated to speed up reflexes, these is one of the standard genetic and biological enhancement lines that Mjorn produces. Cardiac Implants for strengthening cardio-vascular tissue and increasing maximum heart-rate to safely allow massive adrenaline flow without the risk of stroke or heart attack. Biological and genetic upgrades for increased muscular density and flexibility in the abdomen and legs, allowing for increased strength, stamina, control, and range of motion.

Mjorn also provides to the Lunar Venatorii, the Venatorii-Class Combat Bike with Baffled Engine with mounted Storm Bolter. Venatorii Carapace Battle Dress components were designed by Mjorn and given as templates to the factories on Tarakon. Anti-Wicking Body Suit that extends up to jawline, Flak-Weave Combat Pants, Armored Gloves, traditional Cavalry Boots, Carapace chest, back, shin plates, Flak-Weave Duster Coat w/ rank epaulets, enclosed Rebreather Mask, traditional Cavalry Hat w/ rank braids, and Gear Bandolier to hold power packs, combat knife, frag grenades, uplifting primer, combat rations, and medical supplies.

Electro-Vox Warfare requires an in-depth knowledge of the ins and outs of battlefield communication such as broadcast frequencies, electronic attack, cryptography, power generation, maintenance, and the dizzying array of communications gear fielded across the galaxy, electronic warfare is typically the purview of Operators, Tech-Priest Enginseers, and the occasional astute and tech-savvy Guardsman. No matter where they fight, these Guardsmen are equipped with some of the most sophisticated listening and broadcasting equipment issued by the Departmento Munitorum. This is where Mjorn comes in as a producer of this specialized equipment and trainer of the specialized operators of the Lunar Venatorii.

Mjorn Pattern Vox Warfare Variant Communication Trojan has a specialized Vox Warfare package takes up some of the traditional carrying capacity, this suite of communications and cryptography equipment is for the highly advanced Electro-Vox warfare for countering other technology based enemies. Mjorn Pattern Vox Warfare Variant Marauder Vigilant is modified with specialist Electronic Warfare Equipment similar to the Vox Variant Trojan for air operations.

Looks food to me, now get crafting a post for the pbp! :biggrin.:

Don't I have to wait until there is somewhat of a intro? as my character wasn't in the fort with you? or was he and was just left for dead?

I'd assume he was with us the entire time and is travelling with us now, but that's me.... heck I even referenced an unnamed squad member in my first post in the PBP thread, easy enough for me to edit it to be Glitch she was talking too.

I have caught up mostly on these threads. Depending on how this goes, I definitely look forward to more Only War opportunities.

Edit: By the way CM, I have tried to Private Message you but it says your Messages are full.
