the BIG 9th edition room

Recommended Posts

I've got Lazarus painted up in BT colours inside my glass-topped coffee table. My wife hasn't said anything yet, I think she will when other crusaders turn up! If GW have been listening to feedback at all then I think a mini dex might appear. It's probably too early to tease it though because after the new edition drops it looks like necrons will precede the release of the full kits for the marines.

Everyone knows when GW will give new informations like a new QandA? Tomorrow (1st June) they will start like in 8th edtion with articles about it but I remember (maybe wrong) that this weekend will be a reveal too.

If they're doing more reveals I don't recall the annoucement. I'm assuming a 1 June date with the edition change likely being around July 4.

Its 3:30pm BST every day in the coming week.

about half an hour. Do anybody from us have an account for Warhammer TV on twitch? Maybe they will answer a few questions. We could write there some of our most important questions

With the latest announcement (intercessors goes from 17 up to 20 points and cultists from 4 to 6 points) i think that cover could be a own kind of saving throw again. That would make sense after all other announcements seem to bring advantage to big models like Tanks and monsters. That would be the worst case for a 20crusader squad.

They said moral will be more relevant and of corse we have a few items that give us the ability to fight first.

New "cut them down" stratagem seems great, hope we can stack it before our deny fallback strat.

We also have a built in FNP to avoid it, seems pretty good.

Seems we are better in espace then others ... not really lore based rule but however....

And I dont like that stratagem because it doesnt make any difference for the whole situation. Its just each 6th model which get a mortal wound. It should be d3 mortal wounds fix so that one model cant escape.

Look what will happen if a 10 man squad will escape -> 2 Mortal wounds doesnt change the situation in any case

and what will happen if there is just one grot which leave combat -> you have to throw a 6, thats not worth the CP

No. Its nothing bad because it wont make things awful but its simply unneccessary or better said completely none relevant for the whole game.

What I like to know is if we can TENACIOUS ASSAULT in addition. That would be nice ->

It may be worth noting that it says result of 6 and not un-modified 6.

I can almost guarantee there will be a way of boosting that to a 5+

Right, but since it doesn't say 6+ that means modified 7s won't do anything.

i dont think so. Tenacious assault on 2+ would be funny^^

Vehicles will shoot in combat at -1, -1 for shooting Heavies after moving only applies to Infantry. I need 5 Predators :smile.:

Edit: And no blast weapons in CC

- notes by Joe#0064 on the Warhammer 40K Discord.

===== RULES =====

- tanks can now shoot into combat. They may engage units within an inch as well. -1 to hit if you're shooting with your Tank/Monster at something you're in combat with. You can't fire blast weapons either.

- reasons for change; as an example, it was frustrating and immersion breaking that a Nurgling could stop a Land Raider firing in combat. Ultimately, for balance and narrative reasons.

- Monsters benefit from the changes to fighting in buildings; e.g. a squad of Guardsman on the first floor is no longer safe from the Hive Tyrant eye-level to them.

- Stu Black; "Tyranids and Imperial Guard will benefit greatly from the new rules. In general, anything that is a mechanised force or able to field plenty of monsters."

- "sticking a model together because it looks great" is less of an issue now. Specialised / general loadouts on models are much more useful.

- the changes should encourage more dynamic / mobile play, as opposed to "WW1 bunkers engaging each other at a distance."

- challenges; changes to terrain make it harder to get a clear view of the battlefield, so units will need to move around more.

- -1 to hit for moving and firing a heavy weapon only applies to infantry.

- Stu Black; "with the new CP / Detachments I think we'll see more vehicle/monster-heavy armies as a result."

- Eddie Eccles; "people have rightfully pointed out that the Land Raider (and variants) will benefit greatly from the changes."

===== MISC =====

- Snuggs is bad.

Happy about these rules as they make sense, now hoping vehicles won't double in cost.

Would've been even more realistic if you could choose to fire blast weapons but incur a wound for doing so.
