Actually, I just remembered back in the glory days of Cityfight we could take single snipers, that would be nice, a unit of snipers sat in a building within a few feet of each other doesnt really feel right to me.

If I recall sniper rifles are special weapons? Shift them to heavy and bring back the heavy weapon splitting off from your squads.

Well sniper rifles are Heavy 1.

As far as i know 'army' snipers do not work alone. At the very least there two soldiers: the shooter and the spotter. Often snipers are accopanied by a small squad of riflemen to cover sniper's position. In urban combat snipers can be a part of small independant groups of 3-6 troopers which depending on their task may include: Sniper(s), Machinegunner, LAW/RPG and their spotters, ammo carriers, radioman and medic. Snipers are not 'ninjas' or hitmen. They can't vanish in a crowd after a single shot.

Okay, I know this is a looooong shot.

I've heard there is an image of a plastic Macharius floating around some Guard groups on Facebook. This has been "confirmed" by someone I know personally, and by confirmed I mean they flat out said it's legit. Now the thing that got my attention was the post with image of the Macharius was it stated, but didn't show, that a plastic Malcador also existed and both are slated for release "soon enough that you shouldn't purchase that 3rd Malcador from Forge World".

Please...in the name of Him on Terra can anyone verify this? I trust my friend completely for reasons that require I be vague about how he got the information, but I need to see it for myself. The Malcador is my favourite tank in the entirety of 40k, warts and all.

Tanks must have an invulnerable save! I played Nids yesterday with their new codex rules (that had been leaked) and one weapon (model was 82pts plus 1 CP for relic) it had -5AP and flat 5D - it was killing my tanks in one shot! And I got no save. Edited by TCC

I too have become a fan of the malcadors, especially the one with like 6 HBs.

Honestly I also kinda want to replace conscripts with militia.

And they can have an interesting mix of weapons, las/autorifles, shotguns, hunting rifle(sniper rifle) could be an option for every 10 models in the unit, and some new interesting special melee weapons in a similar vein as GSC, and necromunda gangs.

Rumours for the new codex

Just came here to share this lol.

I hope the T rumor is true.

The T8 ceiling made no sense to me especially when some weapons could hit at like S12, or maybe more even?

Disappointed the new tank won’t move a malcador…unless they just renamed a variant.

Turret weapons +3bs would be nice on all tanks - thinking Baneblade gets a nice boost

And if that BS change for tank commanders is true, sponson weapons may be dead to me unless their points change appropriately

Thanks for sharing that vid TCC.

Was wondering if they’d raise the T8 ceiling and by the sounds of this they might.

Hopefully it’s on Russes as well as the Rogal Dorn.

I have 2 Battlecannon Russes ready to build, I’ll wait until we get something concrete before modelling them.

Krieg being included in the Codex is a massive boost for me too!

Is there a non-video write up?

Not that I've seen but it's basically:

New tank confirmed as being called Rogal Dorn and will be T9

Tank commanders BS 4+

Turret weapons gain +1 to hit and can fire even when in combat

Krieg are in the codex as their own regiment

Deathstrike has been upgraded to do damage to a single unit and then 3d3 mortal wounds to everything within a certain range, more shots and a re-write of the firing rules were mentioned alongside the possibility of a new kit (though I found this section very vague in all honesty)

I'm not a fan of the tank commander BS reduction, it just doesn't feel right and it could mean sponsons take quite the hit

I think the krieg rules are a no brainer after we got them in plastic, interesting to see what relics they get (momento mori back maybe?)

also in the comments the video creator confirmed Rough riders

Cant wait for the codex.

No mention of regiments? I was sure I read somewhere about Cadians getting a new kit.

Not in that video, it was only 2 minutes and very light on details.

One of the rmour engine picks is definitely Kasrkin so I wager we'll also get a new infantry squad (god knows we need it)

Guard codex is so far away* chances of reliable rumours at this point is probably questionably dubious at best:ermm:

*assuming that it will be last dex of this ed:mellow.:

I agree, guard is usually very late in the release cycle. I'm taking the video with a good helping of salt, it was very vague (especially in regards to the deathstrike) about the only thing that sounds likely is the new tank

I just want to know what Guards turn based doctorin system will be like. It seams that armys getting one is a big part of 9th and for some armys it makes a huge diferance in their play from previous codexs. Maybe the ability to choose a turn to get a bonus to blast weapoms, a turn of bonis commands and a turn for bonus movemwnt?

Hot Takes, incoming! This is what I'd like to see to keep Guard in line with the power creep:

  • Orders – 6” Aura; get rid of “Move, Move, Move!" (but keep it as a warlord trait)
  • Vox Casters – 10pts; If OFFICER is within 3” of a Vox Caster unit, any unit with a Vox Caster counts as within the order aura.
  • Lasguns – overcharged profile; S4 AP1 D1 Rapid Fire 1; unmodified hit rolls of 1, unit takes a mortal wound, to a maximum of 5 per unit/per phase
  • Leman Russes Chassis – +5 wounds, 2+ save, 5+++, +1 T, -1D (to a min of 1), BS 3+, but no points change (other than weapons coming down)
  • Baneblade Chassis -- +6 wounds, 2+ save, 5+++, +1 T, -1D (to a min of 1), BS 3+, but no points change (other than weapons coming down)
  • Chimera, Hellhound, Sentinels – cheaper by 15%
  • Earthshaker Cannon – Heavy D3, S10, AP -3, D3; can shoot twice if remained stationary
  • Infantry Squads – Sergeant can take a Lasgun
  • Veteran Squads – Sergeant can take a Lasgun, gain ObSec; Faction/Regimental Doctrine that lets them be taken as Troops
  • HWS, SWS, Command Squads – BS 3+
  • Ogryns/Bullgryns – cheaper by 10%; all get +1 S/W/T and 5+++

A small thing.

I’d like autocannons to get bumped up to Ap-2

Wouldn’t make them massively good, but would widen the niche or reason to use them over HBs a little bit more.

Completely agree with this. Currently they’re only better than HB’s against T6. Against anything else they’re roughly the same or worse. AP-2 would make it better against heavy infantry and light vehicles.
