Thank you, damage updated accordingly. Shame about the lasgun, was rather hoping to retrieve that as melee is probably something to be avoided until he is more recovered. Pistol it is then, if needed.

XP spend went on more sound constitution, the recent experience was rather close to lethal for comfort. Also picked up Evaluate, seemed useful.

My plan for Nicios' advancement is on my work computer, so I'm not going to be able to look at it until Weds night, but looking at the tables I might be waiting to try to get his Toughness up anyway...

I'll let you know if the plan changes and I actually spend the XP (might need to get Tech-use since Bardas is currently indisposed), but for right now I'll hang onto the XP.

Idle curiosity at work here, but is the break between chapters 1 and 2 planned to be a matter of days/weeks/more?

(Not intended to rush you GM, just trying to manage my own expectations! )

No worries - it's handy that you asked.

It was going to be a break of a couple of days to allow players to adjust sheets, spend xp, ask questions and generally goof off, but it's getting busy here, so I'm going to push the start of Chapter 2 to Friday 26 Aug, or Saturday 27 Aug at the latest.

Cheers!

Double-checked and my guess was right, Nicios will be hanging on to the XP to get either a Toughness Simple boost or Willpower Intermediate boost. Unless someone thinks the train crew will need Tech-Use, as he could pick that up if so.

Dark Heresy: Core, p152, Table 5-17.

There's a list of stuff there (with prices and quality).

In a hive of this size, you can get Plentiful/Abundant in about 5 to 10 minutes, but for good quality/Scarce and up it will be longer, 15 - 30.

I will say, most of Nicios' nonplussed attitude came from me not really thinking about Tertius' destruction, but I actually think it works better for him as a character- he is focused in on the mission now, and putting extraneous thoughts out of his mind. Tertius is not the hive he is in, nor is it impacting his direct duties, so it is now a thought to be put to the side until he can deal with it. Nice catch @A.T., helped me access the character's mindset.

@Necronaut @Machine God Reynard was thinking the priests might know a short cut to the Sanctum as it was formerly run by Ecclesiarchy Order Hospitaller... but if they're gonna take a chunk of our limited cash, we might prefer to go another way?

I know Reynard is posing as the boss, but I don't want to make decisions for all 3 of us?

@GM: Am I just wasting our time/money with this idea?

@Lysimachus - It's ok by me. We could always use our Inquisition Discount Cards to get a cheaper way?

Wasting time? That's for you to decide...

The donation can be as much or little as you like - and after all, the Emperor sees all donations given in his name, no matter the size, no matter where it might come from...I am dropping options in front of you.

What would Reynard do? :pirate:

@Machine God Discount cards! :D

Always an option...

Reynard would definitely pick the priests' pockets... if he was on his own time*. As it is, I think he'll hold himself back for now and resist the temptation, as getting caught would be a good way to lose time... and potentially get linched!

Plus he's probably not 100% sure how Scourge would react to him robbing clergymen...

@MG: OK cool, if the required donation isn't too steep I'm inclined to keep going...

*all of the above being said, I think Reynard really doesn't like the Ecclesiarchy. Growing up poor and seeing how they hoard the wealth would probably make him eager to stick it to them if and when the chance arises!

EDIT: Just to note, robbing the beggar is an option too.

Well, Reynard is definitely half way to Robin Hood... unfortunately it's the first half (robbing the rich) and not the second...
