On the mend, will try to catch up tonight, but first I better take care of my treasure hunters, I left them on a dark and stormy night.

Glad you're feeling better, fella.

Hopefully Falk hasn't eliminated anything quest critical or invented capabilities beyond those of the arbites cartographic records

No, far from it. My idea was that the station would hold something like and 'Esper' machine anyway, so you've nailed it. In fact, you've actually simplified a few things for me, so kudos.

Well played, sir.

Grasping at a few loose strings with Falk - his original assignment came from the Praefector Absolom who was aware of Voyager but hasn't been seen/contacted since (as it was the Praefectus Secundus on the vid) so Falk would first hope that that he is either still active or else left behind some form of deadmans switch data drop.

The identity of the assassins may or may not go anywhere. Beyond that any outstanding warrants from recent events such as the starport attack, particularly those issued by the Secundus in the past few days.

I'm sure i'm missing more than a few so OOC - if anyone has any dangling threads?

Just dropping in as a GM: If you need to shout up to the Praefector, that's possible, but he is as much in the dark about Voyager and the Cell as you are. He was basically told - "We want Falk, and don't ask questions." If you need him to do some digging on your behalf, he certainly can - for example the fate of the would-be assassins would be an easy ask, but the deeper stuff might bring risks.

Just an option for you to consider going forward.

Hang on, the Praefectus Secundus is the second ranked Adeptus Arbites on the planet?

I read it as being the Planetary Governor's second in command, as his name was Aldario...?

If he is an Arbitrator, what the heck is going on here on Damocles? Arbitrators aren't ever supposed to be assigned to their own homeworlds so there isn't any conflicting loyalty??

EDIT: Sorry mate, I'm not sure if you're asking me to clear something up, or if you're speaking rhetorically to your other players. It's just been one of those days.

I will say that the position of Mr Aldario will get cleared up if the meet with Her Upstairs goes ahead, you're right, he is the 2IC of the Arbites on Damocles, but there is a reason.

Does that help at all?

Edited by Mazer Rackham

Seriously though... as I understand the fluff, Arbitrator recruits go to the Schola Progenium(sp?), are selected as Arbites and then never go back to their Homeworld...

Is this Aldario an actual Adeptus Arbites Arbitrator (like Falk, etc)... or is he 2nd of the local police (don't know the exact local name, but I mean like Enforcers)

Arbitrators equal Enforcers, I'm getting that right aren't I?

Yes mate - I've edited my post above instead of doubling up, if that's any help.

You're not going mad. I just wasn't sure what/whom you were asking.

Sorry boss, your edit came in as I was typing... thanks for the explanation.

Ok cool, we'll get to it.

Wish I'd spotted it IC a bit earlier, as I would be a LOT more suspicious that the Governor has managed to have her brother/uncle/cousin installed as 2IC of the flaming Arbites!! (who are supposed to the primary check against a Governor going rogue against the Adeptus Terra)

That's fine - Falk doesn't know what he knows, just that he is the only one (as Absolom) that ties Falk and his clearance to Voyager and the others. If there is no sign of foul play the he knows better than to compromise himself by probing too deeply from here.

The assassins were a public enough event to not be a suspect inquiry and Falk would likely leave it at that, at least for now. After that he would likely make quick use of the facilities here to clean up his appearance, polish his boots, and otherwise adjust his appearance appropriately for going up-hive such that by the time he gets back to Bardas he can rejoin that part of the narrative.

Oof. 50 Thrones to talk? Damn. Guess I have to pony it up- Nicios will move to 73 Thrones left.

Sigh, I'm never going to be able to afford my cool carapace chestpiece....

The money can be paid communally.

Doesn't matter whose pocket it comes from.

It's how the Damocles rich stay rich, brother.

Ye of little faith.

I'm sort of debating the usefulness of Reynard paying for the fancy robe...? Point being, I'm pretty sure he's going to get recognised from the picter footage immediately on entry - his face has plainly been plastered everywhere and these are intelligent, observant people. At which point he'll have to reveal his Inq credentials anyway to avoid getting arrested/killed?

(And that's assuming the Spyrers aren't in the Assembly - if they are, they will ID him as an Acolyte as well!)

So trying to hide seems kinda... pointless? (Plus I don't think an Inquisition agent would want to wear something that names them as a 'Petitioner' - seems like you're admitting to being the Governor's subordinate, which feels like a bad idea to me?)

I think he'd be more likely to get a decent Quality clean of his own garb so it is looking its best... and then just walk in next to Valkyrie, flash his electoo and publically demand that Aldario stop hunting him...?

As I've said, it's a risky ploy so I'd understand if the others don't want to be stood anywhere nearby when he does it, though!

A quality facemask perhaps, or a bag over his head?

Right, sorry for the delay, place holder has been updated.

I have not, at the time of posting, read past this point, so will edit post if needed to fit in with whatever may have happend.

Time to read a week’s worth of developments, curse you nurgle.

As for the XP spend, I have taken an Intelligence advance and Tech Use + 10 as I seem to be doing a lot of tech use tests. Banking the remaining 100XP (as I had 100 already saved up from last time).

Edit: done all my reading, what a week it has been.
is Una the new potential plyer then?

Am glad you're feeling better, chap. Your loyalty to the Emperor has not gone unnoticed. You will be preserved from explosions for at least a couple of encounters.

No, just an NPC, but I do have drop in opportunities for replacements reinforcements.

For my own clarity, as my edited post was only yesterday with Bardas’s request, is the faraday cage constructed in a side room/storage room to shield it from the rest of the shop/provide privacy and is there a mini cage for the skull inside the main cage?

Yes mate, you can have the layout like that if you wish, apologies not more specific - have been very busy.

It can certainly be a sideroom/old storeroom of the machine shop, so off out of the way, if you want. Feel free to fill in the gaps as you wish. Falk will be lurking somewhere as well, as I don't think AT has gone to investigate what's behind his doors yet - although if you want to do that solo @A.T., that's possible.

No, I took it that your command and Tech-use was good enough to "get the skull's attention" as it were. You can just keep asking, but keep the queries specific for my sanity, eh? :pirate:
