Don't forget Bardas has a medikit, which is a +20 to Medicae tests, so you're all good!

I had completly forgoten that, I really should put that on my character sheet so I remember it for next time.

With 17 out of 19 wounds Bardas is feeling positviley healthy for once. I wonder how long that will last...

Thank you kindly, sir!

Hmm... do I want Deceive +10 for 200, or Heightened Senses (Sight) for 100 and save 100 to put towards a 250 Characteristic Increase next time...?

HS(S) is perhaps more useful in general, but if we are bluffing our way in anywhere Deceive might be better right now...?

Question: why are the mercenaries looking at us? There aren't pictures of anyone except Reynard and his face is no longer bearded and is also covered by his hat?

Interesting that Lecroix is now held by the Arbitrators and an Aldario, suggesting that either we are wrong about who the thugs work for, ie. not House Canthus... or Canthus were happy to pass him along to higher authorities?

Edit: I'm more and more inclined for Reynard to go directly to the Planetary Governor, he's no good for covert ops at this point and he might be able to do some good up there? And without him here, the enemy has a blurry pic of Restal and nothing else?

I'm happy to go it alone, though, as it's obviously a high risk tactic?

Edit edit: Also, I think we need to lay our cards out with Seb, he's going to start causing trouble otherwise...

They're just double-taking everyone. I'll clear that up.

When the GM speaks, it's wise to listen...

Gonna go back and edit that last post to stick with Nicios as courier, Reynard playing mercenary guard.

I guess if MG wants to come along, though, two guards for an important courier isn't outside the realms of what is likely?

You know, I gave a Party oodles of free kit once, and one item was a respirator, but one dude was adamant he didn't want it.

I didn't warn him about it, I just said "are you sure?" and he said he was. One of the other players, a veteran DnD and regular of mine (I don't do DnD btw) turned to his friend quite calmly and said: "If the GM offers you gear, you take it."

"No," the player replied, "My faith will sustain me!"

Let us just say, that Commissar-Captain Kitchener did not last very long in the acidic poisonous death swamps of Slaughter VII.

But he died nobly. And in character.

Trying to work out if this is a really weird autocorrect of Inquisition or some sort of in-universe joke that I'm not familiar with... :laugh:

Nah, that's just Tro.

Talking about mushrooms, he's a real FUN GUY. (Fungi, fung-i? No? Never mind I'll see myself out  ).

Not sure where it is from, and I have heard a few variants over the year, but the gist is:

“Being treated like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed manure (or explitive of choice)” as a way of saying that one’s superiors (or even higher ups) are deliberately keeping you ignorant of key information, potentially by stating a lot of nonsense.

Too many escorts for a courier would look odd so Falk may accompany him, depending on how many leads we decide to chase.

Indeed, though I am sure if you really wanted to go uphive we can up wit ha reason.

As far as I see it other options include going with Bardas, or for Falk to take Seb and try to follow up on Tracer’s information sooner than if Bardas did it after his other task.

@Tro: Oh, gotcha! Not heard that one before but it makes perfect sense now!

@MG: A respirator would probably be quite useful as a disguise... unfortunately I fear that Mazer wasn't offering one to Reynard!

Question for you, boss:

Would I be right in thinking that this close to a Dispatch Office, it would be logical that there would also be some sort of transport hub nearby for couriers that need to travel to (or have travelled from) further away? Kind of like a taxi rank with aircars…?

20 Thrones for a mid-expense single journey is quite a lot, but it would get us up into the Spire a lot more quickly - and, importantly, privately! - than walking and taking the lifts? Reynard can pay, of course, assuming everyone thinks it's a decent idea.

If so, would we be able to ask the driver to take us directly to the Governor's Palace? Or would it have to be somewhere else near there? Spaceport, etc?

The Dispatch Box is close to what is called a 'caravan station' which operates a lift/elevator service which is booked by 'car' to a destination further up the hive. Regrettably there are no aircars this far down for personages of import such as the PC's, but to all intents and purposes, operate in a similar manner, providing different quality transit. For example, a sole courier could rent an express 'seat or hoop' (basically a magna-grapple attached to a lift cable, omitting stops, and moving with great speed), whereas something requiring delicate transit could rent something a little more furbished.

Each multi-person car has a caravan guard to prevent...joyriders.

It is essentially a vertical train.

However, this mode of transport will terminate at the foot of the upper hive, and transit will have to be secured from there. At that point, aircars of every make and stripe can be found at ranks, which can carry you to the Governor's Estate if they have the license to do so. After that, you will be required to use Shank's Pony as you pass through opulence and exceptional security both.

Ground cars can whisk you about the Upper Hive to find clothes or equipment, which will of course, be utterly exorbitant.

That sounds fair enough. I'm assuming - given that it sounds moderately terrifying! - that the magna grapple is the cheaper option and hiring a comfortable lift car is more expensive? However, how many people would need to share a car to make it a better deal?

A single person could rent a multi-person car, obviously if you have more folks in there, spreading it becomes cheaper. A car can hold a maximum of twelve people.

It's 20 Thrones all the way up for a car, or you could pay 5 and ride the wire.

Hey it's affordable, and if you fall off, no-one will know...

Ok cool.

Well, at 5 Thrones each it will equal 15 Thrones total for the wire anyway, so paying 20 to hire the lift car and ride in comfort isn't much extra?

Also, Reynard would probably rather pay the full 20 himself rather than offer to split the cost of the car with random strangers? Empty seats are wasteful, but it means less opportunity for someone to spot us and start asking questions?

Edit: Or am I misunderstanding... is it 20 each for one of the twelve seats in a lift car? At which point it becomes 60 for the three of us... and 220 if we want a car to ourselves (plus the lift attendant).

If it's that, I'd say it's getting a bit steep and we should probably just stick to the wire?
