Afternoon all.

House move is completed and I've been able to set up some work space and do things again!

And I've now made a start on the one and only Xenos army I'm ever planning to make: Aeldari Exodites. I promised myself that if Exodites ever came out I would dive in so I of course nabbed the kill team box and I've made a start. Please excuse the bad images. Lighting set up on my desk isn't the best.

Dragon Masters are built and paint has been applied to the Drakolithes to test the scheme for the first pack of Dragons. Going for a scheme based on the Raptors for The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

I basecoated wraithseer followed by a 1:4ish mix of skeleton horde and contrast medium. The orange starts with a 1:2 mix of Gryphhound orange and medium, the pure gryphhound further up. Then the pattern down the spine is a 1:1 mix of Wyldwood and Skeleton Horde, with some of that mix diluted further with medium for some light stripe markings on the non-feathered parts of the hide. Everything is highlighted with a light drybrush of screaming skull.

The Exodites will be a slow grow. I'm currently planning to only build one kit at a time and will only buy and start the next one when the last unit is fully done and based. I'm not aiming to build an effective army, instead it will be as many Dragon Riders as possibly backed up by a few Craftworld kits that I really like.

The Clanblade is up next, and after them I may do a space marine of some description as a palette cleanser.

I find having a 'clean palette' is a great way to stay engaged and productive... Considering the number of dragons you intend on, I'd also suggest throwing a craftworld unit into your workflow for every ~6 dragons you get through lol.

My initial objective is a mere 9 dragons, but I'm not letting myself start the first 3 until I get through (hopefully) my Imperium and Heresy Vows for Call to Arms.

Glad to see you starting things running with this : )

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

Thanks @Dr. Clock .

next unit will be a unit of Rangers to test out my Yme-loc scheme. From there it will most be Craftworlders for this collection until the solo Exodites release, which could be anytime between next week and Christmas!

I’m also planning to keep things fresh by changing the mounts scheme for every group of nine knights and masters. Currently it’s a toss up between a scheme inspired by the Jurassic Park 3 velociraptors or the original Walking with Dinosaurs Utahraptors for the next group.
