Unfortunately not (though I tend to agree that it should be a starting Skill) Demolition is a Rank 2 General Advance 400xp. Elvrit has Int40 and Tech-Use+10 (if that is considered to have any bearing on the issue) but if someone has got Demo Trained they will likely be more capable? (I don't think in this game we've got access to view each others' sheets, so I don't know who has what abilities?) That said, @Black Cohort did say: Quote you could easily set a charge to detonate a couple hours after the time required to chase down the death guard ship and return to the garrison so possibly he's not making us roll for it on this occasion anyway? Lysimachus
Edit: I just remembered that most of us laid out our xp spends on the first few pages of this thread! It looks like Ravyx has Demo Skill trained and an Int of 54, so maybe if a roll is required he will be the best one to make it? So maybe one of us can stand in for Mazer to do the roll? Mazer Rackham
Ninja'd by an Iron Hand, the shame...! Yeah, essentially what Lysi says: but as an NPC, Ravyx will allow the GM to sort that out if no-one else is availble, because he has Trade: Chymistry as well as Demolitions at Trained, so with an INT of 54. The dude can McGuyberTM whatever you need within reason. Using a Krak grenade, magnesium and rust, for example, the Jackdaw could bake you up Thermite charges. Not as good as a melta bomb, but if you want to reenact the boarding scene from Episode IV.... Lord_Ikka
Ugh, I should probably just have looked at my Purchase History tab instead of assuming....Took Demolition for Kraith. He's only got an Int of 41 though, so only so-so chances of making it work. This is what I get for not doing my normal "plot out my character's general arc of skills/upgrades I want" and just going with the flow. I don't remember why I took Demolition, but I assume it was for doing saboteur-esque stuff... Mazer Rackham
Won't butt in too much here, but if Kraith helps Ravyx using his Int, you're up to 64. If the GM allows a FP, that could get you up to 74. Bombs away. Might be useful for future DW games to consider swapping out one of the Assaulter's Abilities for Demolitions, or perhaps reworking one of the R1 BA only Deeds (Assault on Baal Veteran) into something everyone could take. Anyway...exeunt, stage left. Black Cohort
also because you aren't in a huge rush and what you want to do isn't particularly complicated, the test would be at like +20 or +30 anyway. Lysimachus
@Machine God do you have a description of what Ashmon looks like? Is it obvious that he is a psyker, or is his armour still that of a line Legionary? Elvrit will obviously want to talk to him when he arrives, to find out if he knows anything about what happened to the Primarch/Morlocks/rest of the Legion... Lysimachus
I'm not sure how Elvrit will respond to what he has heard (and I need to research the 'death shriek' thing, I hadn't heard of it) so as far as I'm concerned feel free to move us on. It will give him some time to process the news? It will give him some time to process the news? It's Old Fluff, it always used to be 'A Thing' like the vision that the Blood Angels got upon the death of Sanguinius. I've been playing Iron Hands since 3rd Edition. Alas I think it has been Ret-Conned out of existence as I cannot find it in Lexicanum. Edited Sunday at 03:41 PM by Machine God 3rd Edition. Lysimachus
Ah, fair enough. I did start a thread in the AoD subforum to ask about it, but nothing conclusive yet. I suppose, though, with Ashmon being a psyker he might still be aware of it, even the rest of the IH (not being very psychically attuned at all) didn't feel it?
