Oh boy. Again, I haven't followed along with a lot of the codes releases and how they compared to their original index, but it feels like an overwhelming amount of this was already in the index. Since I play pretty casually now with friends, I might just keep playing with the index haha.

I have some thoughts:

 

-Azrael remains the best chapter master of the bunch.

 

-Azmodai is a solid named Chaplain.

 

-Belial is decent but not better than a generic Terminator Captain.

 

-The Lion appears to have lost his innate -1 to wound rolls against him, but he remains the stronger and more durable of the two loyalist Primarchs.

 

-Inner Circle Companions are good. Really nice special rules that come with the unit, and they can be attached to a lot of generic and named heroes.

Unless I'm missing something the banner or whatever you want to call it for the companions has no in game effect? Seems really odd for it to be purely cosmetic

Interesting to note there's a separate Dark Angels upgrade transfer sheet as compared to the one they showed part of off earlier. I guess the general kits will have the other one, but the upgrade kits will have the one they've shown off here and is on the website?

Black Templars had the same situation where there was Black Templars transfer sheet with a lot of normal crosses in the army set and Combat Patrol and another sheet called Black Templars upgrade transfer sheet in the upgrade set that had nearly no normal crosses (since you already get sculped shoulder pads in the upgrade set) but a lot of other badges and honor markings.

Could see the same being the case here, the transfer sheet in the army set seems to be the second case as its called upgrade transfer sheet and there are only a few normal chapter markings so this will also be in the future upgrade set. 

Meanwhile the other sheet we saw seems to have way more normal chapter markings so could be in the future combat patrol and other DA sets without sculped shoulder pads

They are in different definition of "best". To unleash the full power of Helbrecht you need to invest on other units, up to ~600pts. Azreal don't need much investment, just insert to a random squad, cower in a corner and you can farm CP.

Now that's just funny. What are the odds that the rules team just didn't know they could take a banner? Or do they expect you to run it as an ancient? Hell, at this point one could use this as an argument that the precious limited edition codex might be a bit undercooked.

 

That also begs the question; will the regular codex supplement be the same, or will it be different and they hope no one notices?

I've noticed that the Internet is underwhelmed by the point costs of the units in the DA supplement.

 

I'd comfortably put money down on the prediction that GW will release a point update for the units when the book actually launches, same way they've done for Codex Marines, Nids, etc

Probably the coming week with the dataslate. Assuming it comes next week :p

Got my order in! All went surprisingly smoothly considering last week debacle.

Yep, that was a 100% better experience than last weekend..... In and out with no issues and only a 10 minute wait in the queue.

I had intended to buy multiple decal sheets but they are limited to 1 per customer, which is fine as it gives people the chance to get them but also a shame as these don't last long.

But a much better experience, hope Dark Angels players all manage to get their stuff. :)
