Oh, and in case you are interested in the Grotsmas detachment, you can find it here - as probably came across in my previous post, I really like it and prefer it over the one in the Index, and I think its a particularly good fit if you ever want to make your knights their own force.

 

BTW, was the cultist painted by you or your friend?  Either way, I really like him - I like the limited blood effects and the fien detail of the mouth really add to the model, and the use of browns as well as greys make for a model that is quite dark in pallet that still has a lot of visual interest.  I imagine he will fit in great with your Black Legion marines.

I painted the mini! My friend just gifted me the models :)

Put together the Slaaneshi champion today. I was going to wait for some of the emperor’s children releases, but I decided to just get on with it using a normal chaos terminator as a base.

Whole host of weird parts at play here to give the Slaaneshi touch I wanted - points to anyone who can name all 6 kits I used parts from! Still early WIP. Let me know what you think!

Got my hands on someone's print of the dead terminator from the space hulk box. Always wanted this mini, never actually knew what I'd use it for - until it hit me!

A trophy! For a dreadnought. I've shown it here mounted on the back of a Contemptor as proof of concept, but he'll be ending up on the back of a leviathan helbrute at some point in the future - just because the silhouette is almost as big as the contemptor torso itself! That's a project for another day though - I'm happy to let this sit as it is for a while, now.

 

Lore wise, I like the idea of this actually maybe being an honoured enemy - His corpse has been allowed to rot, the black legion have not recovered his armour, or mutilated the body - they haven't even pulled that big old daemon sword out of him. Maybe this guy is being ferried into battle atop his final opponent - he may have died of his wounds, but he injured his opponent badly enough that his opponent had to be interred within a dreadnought.
