I was considering having Eska chase the cat, but even before this bit...

Quote

The cat leaps away, to strut atop another console, from whence it stares at Rakash, before leaping to a lintel further and higher up, slowly settling down to watch him intently with unwavering gaze.

GM: Rakash, (Warp Sense) the gaze is thoroughly unsettling, and quite, quite otherworldly.

...I thought to myself 'Nope. If anything on this ship is Delly's physical form, it's probably the damn cat...'

Sometimes, foreshadowing by other means works, no?

EDIT: In other news, Varne right now.

@Mojake - A modifier given as Hard - 20 makes the test more difficult.

It would be:

Perception: 39

Target: 19

Rolled: 98

That's what I get for rushing! I rolled a 98 and didn't think too much about the sums, only the consequences of Varne running through a foggy battle with his eyes closed

@Xin Ceithan Am I right in thinking that your latest post slots in just before mine and Mazer's, so Hagga has answered by taking Rakash to one side and giving him a full account of what he saw, and now the daemon-cat has appeared and is staring at you?

Indeed. I already tried to reframe my original  post a bit when I found your post up this morning already.

Next,  I was ninja’d  by a cat !!

I have edited the post - hooe it makes more sense now….

No, no, your post made perfect sense.

I was just debating whether I should hide and repost my post so that it was after yours (and possibly Mazer might cut that bit re: the cat from his post and repost it at the bottom) so that we were following on in proper order? I dunno, probably not worth playing with it, I think we all know what's what and when's when!

What's the benefit for an assist on an action?  I couldn't find a reference in the BC book.

It's up to the GM, but it's generally a +10 to a test.

Yes he's had a habit of doing that lately.

Like I didn't miss out the Roll for Initiative that @Mojake reposted after the GM had edited an earlier post as I was interacting with later posts.

The blasted servitor prepares to exchange blows, but at the last moment, it twitches, stays it's hand, and is cleaved down by your axe.

GM: Anyone may notice this with a Hard (-20) Perception Test.

GM - I take it that this doesn't include Kraggan?

Ok, no idea what is actually going with the cat...

...but wouldn't Hagga at least notice that Rakash is having a full on staring match with it?

Ever seen the film 'The men who stare at goats'?

It's like that but it's a cat.

A heartbeat is a lifetime in the realm of the mind, so you wouldn't notice immediately, but would certainly cotton on after a wee bit. Feel free to ask him a query IC, and then realise his eyes are streaming from the staring contest.

That's cool, I'll leave it a bit longer, and let Xin respond to whatever you just said, and then maybe (assuming he doesn't move or say something or whatever?) I'll check in with him?

Or just remark ":cuss: Psykers! Its just a Cat!"

@Xin Ceithan ONLY.

Spoiler

You're in a fight now. Your opponent won by a substantial margin (I rolled 001) to direct your narrative, post to me (GM ONLY) the psychic struggle, but have a teeth-gritted call to Hagga or something as you sink to your knees.

Your opponent is clearly toying with you, like a ball of string. You know how evil felids are...

Just leaving this here:

Acquisition:

  • Water Pistol (Rare)
  • Range 3m
  • RoF S/-/-
  • Pen 0
  • Clip 1
  • Reload (Half)
  • Damage 0
  • Weapon Qualities:
    • Felid Repellent
    • Cooling when hot
    • Can be filled with various ammo types depending on mood.

hmm... would we trust a bound daemonic cat to be a warp navigator?

Fast reactions, self preservation instincts. We could hang some kind of dangling toy off the bow of the ship.

It's not about trust so much as managing expectations and creating the proper incentives. With the correct application of warp lightning.

Are we, uh, asking for a friend here?

I think we're just waiting for a post from our resident Boom-Tuber, and then we can roll around for another go at the slaughterhouse. For reference, anyone can call the Dredge and speak to the Players there. We will assume comms are working.
