I think, since both the Plantation soldiers and the Vale soldiers are armed, we would just have to supply some extra explosive/incendiary items. Whether or not those can be made (Molotovs out of Fuel/Supplies maybe?) or have to be sourced is up to the GM/our ability to make them (maybe??).

Simple explosives can be made from Fuel (quite rightly identified there) and Components. Unfortunately, after everyone's ACQ's you're hurting for bomb making kit. Molotovs, however can be made by the bushel by anyone with any Weapon raining (Flame) Talents. 3 Fuel, 5 Per hour. Be advised, whilst doing this, you're doing nowt else, or there could be....sparks.

NPC's can't do this for you. They are not all trained in the proper talents.

I was just looking back through the IC for the info on the Bounty troops. So far I can see we've got:

150 Best Quality Soldiers

200 Common Quality Soldiers (civilian conscripts)

I can't seem to find their equipment, but I'm guessing the pro soldiers are PDF/Guard equiv - have got lasguns, flak armour... anything else? (Mortal frags? 1 in 10 special or something?)

And the civvies probably less well equipped (farmers guns? Shotties or hunting rifles or whatnot?)

Sorry, just trying to get a sense of what we might need to Acq.

And we've got Eisner and his 150 Armsmen, if needed, though I'd prefer to keep them guarding the Razor.

Side point, but I think this:

GM: I'll make no secret of it - once the Bounty Op is finished, or an alternative proposal is completed to a satisfactory stage, Part Two will be a wrap.

...is probably a very good thing. We've been kicking around the Ithyca system for quite long enough (all the business at Brimstone and surrounding asteroid field, the prison break at Penitence, and now the reaving of Bounty) that the Imperials are almost certainly starting to take a much greater interest in the area? Time to go somewhere else entirely, find a new hideout, new targets, etc, etc?

Well I cannot add anything to the conversation.

I'm stuck in the IC Waiting Room of Doom waiting upon a possible Infernus Pistol shot of Ukalegon.

They are well-armed and trained. You can expect IG style equipment or better.

  • Lasgun or equivalent on the troops, Specials (Flamer, GL), HWT's (HB, Mortar).
  • Combat knives, a chainsword here and there as a 'leadership' gift.
  • Solid Ld on the Section and Platoon commanders
  • Dedicated Leadership element and Elite squads
  • Independent initiative and tactical understanding
  • Tactical and integrated comms
  • Armour, Flak or better
  • Equipment, some bombs, some tools, etc.

You can break them into Hordes (Troops) of 10 - 30 Mag as you wish and label them.

You have 20 Mag's worth of 'Elites' with Stormtrooper equivalent kit. You can break them into 2 x 10 Mags, no less.

They are reasonably armed and moderately trained. You can expect PDF or less:

  • Common grade rifles, shotguns, some autoguns on troops (Lasgun Profile for Hordes).
  • Pitchforks, clubs, machetes, sharp sticks.
  • Some discipline, need leaders to function.
  • Poor comms, maybe one guy with a radio per 50.
  • Armour, Flak equivalent, no better
  • Equipment, some bombs, some tools, etc.

You can break them into Hordes (Troops) of 20 - 40 Mag as you wish and label them.

No comment here, they're your gang.

Does this help at all?

I will be making a random roll influenced by the factors and operations you have conducted to this point.

This will determine any Complications from the Imperial side. Of course, I will keep these as a pleasant surprise should there be any, since I know you all love surprises.

Very much, ta! Much better equipped than i was expecting, in fact.

Would it be reasonable to assume the 150 pro soldiers breaks down to something like:

4 x 35-man Platoon (3 10-man squads and a 5-man command squad) = 140 men

I'd guess 20 MAG of Stormtrooper equivs might be the last 10 men, whether divided into 2 5-man combat squads or not?

And then Tyro and Cain?

As to the civvies, I'd say keep it simple. 8 25-man squads, but assign them to have 2 squads work together so there is a radio with all groups?

That's maybe more detail than is needed, but I find it helps me to picture it in my head...

In terms of trade value to offset the somewhat high difficulty of the scrap code blueprints - what kind of value could Xerxes get for an unmarked Legion bolt pistol, stripped down as required for human hands (effectively upgrade suspensor/downgrade single shot)?

Something suitable to grease the palm of a seller.

(accounting for the -10 market adjustment and +10 component rather than item modifier both the pistol and blueprints would have the same rarity I believe)

Pushed back in Rakash‘s response so as not to leave another question open

(Events moved a bit faster than I was able get something meaningful in on the Vashtor thing sadly )

I‘ll try to catch up inbreeding Occ

but one of the things I intended for Rakash picking up Projection was to provide the group with a psionic switchboard which should enable the character to assist in the OP even if / when  I am  not

Yes, that's fine.

That's a very good point.

I had considered running my trade through Crux'as to rope another player in to the narrative, perhaps a brace of pistols that he might have motivation to profit himself.

@Lord_Ikka

No acquisitions for me, though a new silk cloak wouldn't be too bad. Perhaps some furs to go with it?

Also, I looked at my character sheet and realised I put down Imperial Guard as my choice for the Hatred rule. Would this extend to the local PDF, or to members of the Guard specifically? I'm ok with it just being the actual Guard if it would be too powerful to have it apply to the PDF as I chose this rule based on his background.

Strictly speaking, a PDF formation is a different entity, as they are not as 'indoctrinated' as the IG, the former being part-timers, like reservists with real jobs and family men, the latter being the hard-bitten and experienced campaigners (ish), but I will leave it up to you.

I know we were also discussing an explosive collar for Kraggan, which will be very rare per the "enhanced" availability rules, but someone will need to actually acquire the thing. Or perhaps Xerxes, your friend and mine, would like to take a go at manufacturing a makeshift collar from a spare legion krak grenade and a bit of scrap metal and some wiry gubbins to give Hagga (or someone else) a remote for an exciting single-use shock collar.

It's disappointing to know 'throwaway culture' is still alive and well in the future.

@Mazer Rackham I'm happy to see the (presumed) return of another character from the Mazer-verse (this time as an actual adversary, as opposed to a defacto adversary)!

Thought you boys might need someone to keep you all on your toes...

I just have to say that you guys putting Obi's Unremarkable-ability into your narratives, especially the way it's been done so far, is just filling me with joy.  I literally laughed at Varne's double-take.

That being said, rules question for the GM: In the gift of the gods description, it calls this version of Unremarkable an "active" ability.  Does that mean I can like, suppress it?  Turn it off if I'm in a situation where I want to be loud and large and intimidating?

No. Afraid it don't work like that.

Obi: 'I am death, fool! I am the night, I...am BATMAN! Rawr! Raaar!'

SM1: 'Aww, lookat'im. Want uppies, halfling?'

SM2: 'Give him boiled sweets, kids love those.'

Obi:
