Dr_Ruminahui
I love your bone and purple scheme - great contrast, and it looks both natural and unnatural at the same time, which IMHO is perfect for nids. Also like their muddy little feet - really ties them to their bases. BrotherCaptainArkhan
Thanks, all! @Dr_Ruminahui - thanks, exactly what I was hoping to convey! I was hoping the purple/blood would convey gristle and sinew contrasting with the bone-like carapace. Finishing off the sum total of my 40k terrain at the minute - this will largely be for Kill Team and Grimdark Future. We'll see if 11th edition tempts me back. BrotherCaptainArkhan
Thanks, gents. Was a fun little project. I still need some more terrain, but holding off for now until I'm certain my local group is going to play more! On which note, in an effort to get us a bit more into Kill Team I've drafted up a quick scenario for myself and the Brood Brothers player in our group to try out this week. I've tried to keep it very streamlined (as KT can be quite complex) with a clear theme to it. Thoughts? gaurdian31, Dr_Ruminahui, Firedrake Cordova and 4 others 1 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386704-the-sons-of-the-condor-bear-cadre-devastators/page/5/#findComment-6170389 Share on other sites

BrotherCaptainArkhan
Thanks, fellas :) Ok, getting to do something I've wanted to do for AGES. We finally played Kill Team again last week and I've just finished writing it up into a proper, old-school narrative battle report. What do you guys think? First time I've done one of these in ages and would like to do more of them. I've tried to create some narrative hooks - namely, veteran Sur'gesh will now be promoted to Devastator sergeant in commendation of his actions on Relay Station Chi-Omega 714, and the Condors will be following up to find out who their mortal assailants were in future games... The action shots are very atmospheric and the narration is spot on Thanks mate! It was a fun game to play - and write. Kill Team is in a funny spot for us. I love the nuance it gives the universe, and how realistic and faithful factions feel to their identity in the setting. But the rules get in the way of the action, if you're not playing the game week-in, week-out. Given the above a light edit as some of the slides were out of order. Dosjetka
Definitely nice to see your projects still going strong, Arkhan. Your narrative battle report from earlier in the month is great. I'm very tempted to play the same scenario, using the rules you came up with. The miniatures and the paint job you've applied to them are fantastic. The Genestealer Cult members, in particular, are stand outs: have I missed close-up pictures of them? If not, where might I find them, please? Firedrake Cordova
The feathers look great to me The only comment I've got is that some of them look like they merge into the others a little, although that might just be because it's not been painted. gaurdian31 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386704-the-sons-of-the-condor-bear-cadre-devastators/page/5/#findComment-6172634 Share on other sites
Kommisar_K
Wow that's lovely! Super detailed and excellent distribution. If it helps: some (3?) of the feathers look a little... broad? in the pics. The angle from the tip appears rather wide, resulting in something of an arrowhead shape. Not particularly noticeable, especially if the whole feather is visible, but if you want the nitpicky feedback, there ya go! Definitely better than anything I could pull off. I cannot wait to see this guy painted. Freaking awesome!
