Great work! :tu:

I like the colours you used especially the clothing(the ogryns uniform for example). Did you use a contrast paint?

Also damn you now i'm going to be buying those Ogryns for my Hostile Environment Guard at some point. :laugh.:

Hah, thought I'd commented already but seems the master of speed painters has done his work once more! They look excellent together, and the Subnautican is incredible. The fists make the model way better. Model really does stand witness to how a subtle touch can pull a model together. :happy.: :happy.: The blood in the tank is really nice!

The lamp on the Syphonite looks better. Good stuff.

Thanks for the comment about the avatar. Julie Hang who did it is really skilled.

The Water Guild as a whole looks tremendous - but the crowning piece (for me) is the Subnautican - such a subtle conversion has made such a difference to him and he is beautifully painted!

Can't wait to see how the Promethium Guild and the Pyrocaen Lord turn out!

Thanks for the positive comments, guys!

With the water guild done, it's time to move on to a new Guild. I've already created two Grovelers from the Mercator Gelt - the Coin Guild, but invested far more time on the Prometheum Guild's Pyrocaen Lord - so I guess it's the Mercator Pyros!

Here's the FW concept picture that was released in 2018:

Besides the Pyrocaen Lord, the represetative parties of the Mercator Pyros include two bodyguards called Cynders, armed with laspistol and axe. I guess originally the Cynder was going to be a single brute like in the water guild, and they've changed it in the rules - which have been released quite a while after this concept art was released. Besides the Cynders, the Entourage includes a Guild Factotum - or icon bearer- called a Pyromagir, which is armed with a Guild Icon, a Stub Gun and a Flamer.

As I pan on making the bodyguards using the bodies of Delaque gangers as a base, I'll have to arrive untill that set arrives from Mail Order. So I guess it'll be the Pyromagir!

I rumaged around my bits boxes for a while and found a Kharadron Overlord's Aetheric Navigator, which I bought originally to serve as the base of the Factotum of the Corpe Guild, until I settled in favour of a Nurgle sorcerer. So with that guy in mind, I started putting bits together.

What I do like of the  FW concept art is the very thin flamer nozzles, so I'm going to go for an Escher gas weapon's nozzle. In addition, I'm going for a flaming Corpse Cart coaldron as an icon. I'm thinking of a Skitarii hooded head as a basis.
Here's my first mock up:

I quite like it. But he still reads too much as a Squat to me. I hope to create something that reads more as a small, fat human.

In order to do this, the head needs to be higher in relation to the shoulder. So I'm adding a gorget. Check it out:

Pretty nifty, don;t you think.

Here's an alternate version with a different head:

Which one do you prefer?

Let me know and if you have any new ideas!

Also, I have a great example of Murphy's Law. I put down my pliers and it just clipped the edge of the flame bit, which was prompty launched into the side of my VERY BUSY hobby desk. I started removing stuff to look for it and OF COURSE my bottle of Zip Kicker toppled over, and I spilled about half the bottle - the stuff reeks, so that's going to be a doozy when the GF comes home. Luckily I did found the bit, which I then put next to the miniature - which was sat in the open window of my hobby attic after removing all kinds of stuff to look for the bit. AND OF COURSE the miini fell out of the window.

Oh joy.

I did manage to get it out, but I can tell you it was quite an adventure. HAHAHA
Cheers!

@ Pandoras Bits Box:  INQ28 is such a liberating concept when you're used to creating 40k for decades. I'm still threading lightly and sticking to guys that have rules but also a lot of grimdark fluff attached, though. :)

@ Freakshow668: Thanks, buddy!

@ Xin Ceithan: hahaha that's a funny and nice way to write down approval!

@ PowerHungryMonkey: Thank you! And I dunno, but that's a cool idea. But comments are ALWAYS preferred when it comes to epxressing approval! That's why it's a forum! Also, Tank Girl's concept of drying out dead bodies is exactly  the idea that was the basis of the syphons on the Master Nautican and the Syphonite.

@ NightHunters: Thank you, mate! That's kind of you to say. Also, your wish is appareantly my command!

@ batu: Cheers, buddy!

@ jaxom: haha thank you very much. It's cool that you spotted and appreciate those details!

@ Kriegsmacht: Yeah I used contrast paint. It's Skeleton Horde over Wraithbone followed by a Screaming Skull drybrush.

@ BadgersinHills: Yes, I agree! I was gatekept by this dude on a FB kitbashing group for 'not using enough bits'. I laughed him off. Less is sometimes more!

@ Viridia: Well thanks! That's cool of you to say, buddy! :)

@ Castigator: Hurray! Thanks, Gary!

@ Mechanist: Oh there's going to be a photo shoot for sure!

@ hushring: Coin Guild is going to have to wait, but I definitely have a lot of cool ideas for them, for sure!

@ lamby: Thanks a lot, Lamby - cool to see you comment here again!

So.... I opened this thread and scrolled up from the bottom and was seriously confused why there was images of a roof.

Then I read your Murphy's Law shenanigans that happened

The new AdMech dude looks good though! Definitely unique

Thanks guys, thanks to your suggestions and a couple of my regular hobby buddies here in the Hive Slums of Amsterdam, I've made several alterations and am very close to calling the Pyromagir done!

Behold!

What do you think of him eh? Looks pretty nifty, wouldn't you agree? I'm very happy with how the gorget made him look like a small, chubby human. The only thing I'm still not quite sure about yet is the head - to hood or not to hood, that's the question....

What I am certain about is that his gorget needs a couple studs around the edge. Will do maybe tomorrow, as today is a beautiful day and I'm going to have a stroll with my son and wife in the fields. Cheerio!

@ BadgersinHills: That's an idea, but it would be an augmented bare head - which muffles the distinction between Squat and human....

@ Kizzdogs: Thank you, buddy!

@ Gederas: Why on earth would you scroll bottom up? Are you crazy?  ;)

He looks sizzlingly good. I think the alternative head with single bionic eye you had on the previous page does look more human to me.

I think it's the goggles on the hood that look similar to some of the karadon faceplates.

So in the concept art is this instead of the dude with the braiser above his back or is that coming?

If it is I'd swap the arm and do the back mount as it's such a cool feature.

Cheers everyone! I'm excited to complete this Prometheum Guild in its entirity but for that I need to wait for my order of Delaque gang for the bodies. I'm planning on ggiving them Skitarii backbacks with a burning brazier, plus of course axes and laspistols as that's what the crunch dictates they should be armed with.

While I wait for the order, I have started expanding on the Coin Guild Toll Collectors delegation. I've posted these earlier, but I've already created the Groveller bodyguards for the delegation:

The delegation also needs a Factotum, or Icon Bearer. Here's what I have so far, but I need some help for ideas:

What I need help with is the following: his icon. I already got the staff for the icon down, but the icon itself I have no idea for. It is supposed to represent the Coin Guild / Mercator Gelt as a faction, as representatives of Necomunda Hive Primus'  Lord Helmawr himself - those who collect taxes for him in the name of the Imperium and the Emperor himself. But how to represent that? I've already thunk of coins hanging from chains hanging from an Aquila, but an unsure as to how to create this guy.

Anyway, suggestions and ideas are very welcome.

Also, how do you like him so far? I'm still to remove the handle of his holstered pistol, as he's already wielding a pistol that he therefore logically must have drawn from the holster....

Let me know!

Thank you and cheers,

@ jaxom: hahaha an underhive Santa! That certainly brought a smile to my face!

@ Mechanist: Thanks and yes, Iam starting to think a bare head is more appropriate as well. The concept art for him is the middle dude with the flamers as arms. I really don't like that guy, so I decided to not even try and mimick him. Except for the spindly flamer nozzle, there's nothing in my interpretation that comes from the FW concept.

@ Swarbie8D: Ha! I think all the cloth will be Mechanicum Red - the prometheum guild is closely tied to the mechanicum, so that's what they'll wear, methinks!

@ Viridia: Thanks, and I guess you're spot on, there!

@ hushrong: haha yeah, that was quite the adventure!

@ Sandalphon: Thank you! Glad you like them and the thread as a whole -welcome! What do you mean with loose tiles and what is the 'base of the pyro'?

@ BadgersinHills: Thanks! I'll keep that in mind when I make the final decision on the head. :)

Great work here I really like the Pyromagir.

I love how with a little work the Fantasy models can fit in easily in the 40k setting. What miniature is the Factotum from? Looks neat.

As for the icon I was going to suggest a big shiny coin but you already mentioned smaller coins. Maybe the Scale of Justice like the one shown in the Internation Revinue Service symbol?

Hey Augustus!

I really like your work on the Pyromagir. I would actually leave the hood on, 'cause - hoods ;)

As for the Factotum, What really striked me from the start is that his face is too lean for that lovely belly he sports. While I like the moustahe and a general seriousness of his face (definitely means business ;) ), I would plump-up his cheeks a bit.

Regarding the icon, the only thing hat came to my mind was a coin. Not very brilliant perhaps, but how about you check some collectors coins pictures on the net? There are some crazy ideas out there. Thieves, guilds, Assassins,...
