Heya! Just finished Fulgrim, and I'm quite honest it's a bit hard to make pictures of him especially right now at night times - so I may do another round of photos down the line, but for now I hope you enjoy this little tease of him! Couldn't wait to share haha. Fulgrim Transfigured The Phoenician Reborn, Illuminator of the Dark Prince, Daemon Primarch of the IIIrd Legion "That which causes us trials shall yield us triumph, and that which makes our hearts ache shall fill us with gladness. For the only true happiness is to learn, to advance and to improve. None of this could happen without rejecting error, ignorance and imperfection. We must pass out of the darkness to reach the light!"

Atia reacted to a post in a topic: Tortuga Bay Size & newer 30k kits question
-
Heya! Wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with Tortuga Bay bits / models compared to the new 30k plastics / CSM range. I already ordered some Terminators who seem to be in scale with the recent Leviathan chunkies, but my package hasn't arrived yet and I was wondering how their power armour stuff holds up against the recent stuff? My initial plan was to use some bits to spice up the upcoming Emperor's Childrens to bring them a bit closer to the Siege of Terra, and the size seems to be ok but it's hard to grasp without seeing them in 3D. Also, am I right that the newer 30k plastics are monopose, with legs and bodies in one part? If so, that would make mixing and matching a bit harder, although not impossible?
-
Yeah, I like it a lot! Honestly, the only problem I have is to actually take pictures of it, as the colour always comes out lighter / more pink than it is in reality haha. It's actually a match to the newer HH artwork in real life. I ended up mixing white into it and it worked out quite well hehe. Thanks for the idea, I noticed drybrushing being used alongside contrast these days, maybe I'm just too oldschool but I would rather use that method for stuff like fur instead of things like Marine armour haha. That said, it's defo cool to see it actually used now as compared to a few years ago. Thanks! Defo wanted to give him somewhat of a place in the army, so I went with the Vigilator stand-in for 30k. Also wanted to hint at their eventuel 40k studio scheme with the mint crests, and similiar to the black that is used because they begin to loose access to the purple pigments I thought it would be funny to have the crests being that colour because the original mostly white crests were used by the loyalists. Kinda similiar to the World Eaters getting closer and closer to their 40k scheme as the Siege dawns. Speaking about that, the army will thematically based around the Siege of Terra, but could also be used for any time period after (as we will 100% get their heresy scheme used by some parts of the legion similiar to the DG/TS/WE's). Like the Death Guard, the EC's were pretty much Chaos Space Marines at the Siege, especially in the original description of it. I'm currently not sure what rules I will follow though, or if I will ever really play again or just do them as a display thing. My original plan was just to double dip and make it usable in both 30k and 40k but ngl, the current 40k rules look kinda dumb and restrictive from what I could gather, army building wise. It seems like allied detachments are gone, and unlike normal Marines the Cult Legions won't have access to generic CSM units it seems (even though they literally have a good mold with the loyalists who FINALLY got access to all Marine toys even if you play SW/BA/DA/BT after years of idiotic "this Space Marine tank came out with Codex XY so only they can use it). Also, unlike Necromunda it seems like weapon options in 40k are only "whats in the box" and you don't have points for equipments anymore which makes writing an army list boring. That, alongside the removal of old Marine tanks and the FW pruning really feels off to me, so yeah, at the end of the day I will prolly just go ":cuss: the rules" and paint up whatever I like.

Soooo ..... I cooked something up as a colour tester - hope you guys like him. The Noise Stalker presumed to be Rokus Tradus, former Vigilator Prime of the First Millennial of the IIIrd Legion Not all members of the so-called Kakaphonie would operate within an Orchestra unit. It is not surprising that many of the higher-ranking individuals within this corrupted order chose to work alone, each wielding wargear specifically crafted for their unique purposes. While certain figures, such as the Lords Kakophonists or the Doom Priests, can be grouped together due to their similarities in both function and form, one individual stands apart from the rest. Known only as the Noise Stalker, this enigmatic figure was first witnessed in the wake of the Istvaan atrocities. It is widely believed that the Noise Stalker was once Rokus Tradus, the Vigilator Prime of the First Millennial, a master marksman of considerable renown. He was said to wield an unholy fusion of a Vigilator Boltgun and Warp-forged weaponry, similar yet distinct from the doom armaments employed by his fellow Legionnaires. Note: Heavily modified early production Mark VI 'Corvus' pattern armour, issued in limited numbers to certain Legions' Vigilators before the outbreak of the Heresy, primarily for field testing purposes. The helmet is of the Sarum pattern—likely a trophy taken from the sands of Istvaan III. Notably, it features a mint-colored transverse crest, a hue that would later become widespread in the closing days of the Heresy, mostly replacing the white crests of old (which had come to symbolize the Terrans and the Loyalists alike). Furthermore, the specialized communication backpack originally issued with the armour has been discarded in favor of an Anvillus pattern backpack, a design specifically suited for Void and Boarding actions.

Okay, so I ordered one bottle to try it out - any idea how to get highlites with these though, since they are no clear paints? My plan was to do some zenithal metal under the clear coats initially to get some easy shading haha.

Heya everyone - and thanks for the brainstorming! Will go with darker wings, but first I have to figure out the purple. Tried Eidolon Purple but that didn't feel right (far too pink), so I'm back to the drawing board. I really really wanted to go the metallic purple route, but now I'm thinking matt may be easier after all haha. In generell, that's the tone I'm going for:

Thank ya! Started to build the snake boy. In generell I prefer the FW look over the upcoming plastic one, the only thing I was a little bit dissapointed were the weapon options compared to the 40k version. But than, I guess it makes sense that early post ascension he would use the more daemonic weapons first instead of Firebrand. Also, I'm a bit unsure how I want his wings to be - what do you guys think? Light like FW does them, or dark like on the new 40k version? Tbh, I'm currently leaning more into the darker wings to better frame him, but I'm unsure if they would be too similiar to the purple armour than? That said, I'm currently leaning towards metallic purple for his armour anyways (similiar to my Devine Knights), which should make it different enough? Basically a scheme similiar to the new artwork which combines both the Heresy armour with the darker wings:

Thanks haha! Guess that's what you get by saying the new Emperor's Children look good haha. The parts are great from the first look over it, first they will get a nice soak. So, I'm currently still working on some Necromunda stuff (more about that later ...), and I defo want to use the new Chaos EC range as base for Siege of Terra Era EC that can double up as both HH and 40k army. Also have some more Black Legion models to do aswell. Hobby Butterfly syndrome kicks in haha.

Kratos Heavy Assault Tank Sons of Horus Legion, Amytastarak Support Reserve Formation, Vth squadron The Kratos Heavy Assault Tank is based on an ancient Terran pattern fielded during the Unification of Old Earth, redesigned after the Emperor signed the Treaty of Mars with the Tech-Priests of the ancient Martian Mechanicum to serve as the spearhead of the Great Crusade. It was intended to be a line-breaker and foe hammer extraordinaire. This grinding main battle tank is all but impervious to enemy fire, and its steady, inexorable advance provided an indomitable core to any assault by the Legiones Astartes, enforced by a barrage of overwhelming firepower. The Kratos originally served as a dedicated infantry support tank and the powerful shells of its heavy cannon could quickly open a path through massed enemies for any Astartes or mortal support infantry that followed in its wake. However, the Kratos was determined to be obsolete in the final years of the Great Crusade and was later retired from active service when the Legiones Astartes began to favour faster, more multi-purpose armoured vehicles such as the ubiquitous Predator tank, a fate similiar to that of the mighty Stormbirds or the dreaded Lucifer Pattern Dreadnoughts. That said, the demand of the Horus Heresy would see vehicles formerly utilised in reserve formations used again for frontline services, while new numbers of Kratos Heavy Assault Tanks would be produced by both sites in a fight of astartesean warfare. + Addendum + Sons of Horus Legion Icon (Primal Armorial)

Hey guys and girls :) Here's a little WIP shot of stuff to come: Also, I really have to say it's super awesome to be able to basically paint a whole 30k army in tiny scale at the same speed as a single 32mm scale unit haha.
