    Wrapping Wreckas

    By zulu.tango

Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!    I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg

    Jagieŀŀo inspects their prizes

    By GSCUprising

The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.   Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance. The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield

    XIVth Legion build

    By W.A.Rorie

So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists  Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.   I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w

    Square Pants Bob

    By Bouargh

Hi Folks,   Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).     The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of

How to pretend not to start a GSC army - Part 5

Hi folks,   As a fith act in this series, here is today's addition: a Goliath truck to be used qs q Tqurox proxy. Becquse remember thqt I am not starting a GSC army... But is there someone that really believing this?   In CtA23, year ago so, I painted some kit bashed Scions from old plastic scouts. These lads deserves a vehicle to go at heart of the fight. and if it comes with some fire power, better. A Taurox fits the role but... I had this Goliath Truck from the Patrol box,

How to pretend not to start a GSC army - Part 4

Hi folks,   As a fourth act in this series that I left aside for a while, here are some progresses to be shared: the kit bashed HW teams have been painted.   As previously ibntroduced in the second part of this serie ( or was it the first one?), using a single kit of ooP Cadian HW plus GSC cultists and extra crew members from the GOliath kit allows reaching 18 footsloggers and puting in service 3 types of HW. In my case; ML; Autocannon and mortars. I like the vibe of the last

How to pretend not to start a GSC army - Part 3

Hi folks,   After last post presentation of the HW squads, we left the story to a point where I was left with the Truck and 11 bodies to be kitbashed.   The Truck, as a proxy Taurox, does not require much work: weapon system is dual autocannon, as the genuine model, and removing the cult emblems and adding some Imperium symbols was not a big deal. The same with swapping the machine gun for a sanctionned stormbolter (after all these kit bashed are supposed to be SW auxillaries

How to pretend not to start a GSC army - Part 2

Hi folks,   Last post of the series introduced the reasons behind buying a GSC Patrol box (the old one) in order to get the base for kit bashing IG infantery squads. The fact that I have a sweet remember of these guies is probably not completely disconected to the selection of Neophyte Hybrids models instead of Orlocks gangers as a starting base. Even if after a carful look,        As for using Sktarii heads on other bodies, I had already tried it, more or less succ

How to pretend not to start a GSC army - Part 1

Hi folks,   Before entering into the details, it may be worth setting up a kind of background. Let´s go back in time in a not so far past (relativity matters) when previous 40k Edtion allowed Allied Detachments in its Force Organization Charts   The scene is set.   I enjoyed this era that has been a perfect time to increase my SW force versatility adding small detachments of other stuff in order to get some tactical diversification. It is when I added Blood Ang

While waiting for the Delivery...

I feel like a little bit purposeless as my next bunch of fresh material for 40k will be delivered in afew days. I still have some stuff left in a box, some more ooP Rhino chassis tanks, but It would be repainting them. I could off course shift to WFB which is clearly my next big challenge as my Pile of shame is huge here. Or anticipate on Epic reboot and paint my old (very old) 6 mm scale armies.   But I do not want to embark on something too different like 6 mm and I am a little bit f
