So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.
I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w
The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.
Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance.
The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield
Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!
I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg
Hi Folks,
Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).
The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of
Although it came down to the wire...I managed to finish my February 12 Months of Hobby vow way close to the deadline. But done is done!
In hindsight, I wish I had taken more care on the highlights and left deeper shadows and done a brighter high tone as the final step. After a few nights thought this isn't a big enough deal that I expect to go back and touch them up. Rather, I'll carry forward the lessons learned for the small number of Khorne daemons I have left in the backlog. I
A.k.a - Progressing when you only get 60-90 minutes at a time to paint and are bad at estimating how quickly you can go in a session.
Halfway through the month and I'm at least on track to finish my February vow for the 12 Months of Hobby by the end of the month. That's a marked improvement over January! I have gotten distracted by planning out a different project but that has been something I've been able to do when I couldn't paint...so no foul for this month.
I've got
This is not THE beginning of my time with daemons...but it is A beginning.
The local group has recently started planning a loose narrative campaign around the Badab war and a revisit of 5th in general, which got me looking at what I had in the backlog. While I have no interest in painting a non-heresy marine or xenos army at this time, I've had an on again / off again relationship with chaos in 40k (and Fantasy Battles) over the years. The result of that is a lot of unpainted daemo
Some of my friends were involved with the hobby. This was when I was 14/15 years old. I managed to get the 2nd edition box from Argos and that began my time with the hobby. I had a huge 2000 point Ork army, based on Gorkamorka models and lots of metal freebooter models. Sadly I sold this army many years ago. I also had small Raven Guard Army. I played up to 4th edition before stopping been involved with the hobby.
I then returned to the hobby with 2nd edition of killteam and 10th edi
I had a cousin who introduced me to scifi/fantasy novels when I was about 8. A few years later he showed me one of the, now vintage, Citadel Minatures cataloges. I spent a lot of time flipping through those pages and wondering what it all was about. My dad had done a few model car/plane kits with me but I wasn't a big car guy, but I did have the tools. So for my birthday, 11 or 12 I think, I wound up getting a Tactical Squad and the 3rd edition SM codex, starting me on my journey. Roughly 30 yea
