  1. When you play as Templar in videogames whenever that's an option*, and swear by the Black Templar's ways. Kill all witches, use swords, one-or two-handed, and always charge headlong into battle, regardless of your odds. Also you paint your armor in a particularly striking black color. Preferably with white pauldrons. *Currently ESO:TU for those who are interested in such things.
  2. Las/ Melta Raven? I personally prefer the Assault Cannons, as they're a more versatile choice for the Raven, as the Missiles and the MM usually take care of flyers/ Vehicles, the Assault Cannon is a handy thing to have for dealing with both Vehicles and Infantry; possible Rendings don't hurt either. I can definitely advise such a setup. (I personally use Hurricanes as well, just to maximize my Infantry killing options as well, Sometimes the PotMS really helps!) Either way, good match, well played and an excellent writeup.
  3. I leave for a couple of weeks, and people start singing? It was awesome though.
  4. I don't agree that he doesn't look Templar enough. A lot of the Templar look comes from the color scheme. I painted the DV Bikers in the Templar color scheme (after removing the DA symbols, offcourse!), and they look like real Templars. Just wait, with some black & white slapped on him, he'll be a true Templar. (Also, DA and Templars are both Western Knight inspired, so many of their specific bits can be easily exchanged without looking odd.) Tl;DR: Looking forward to this Chaplain.
  5. I've done the same thing often. Except I go for an Artificier build (Enchanting), so I can get super awesome equipment (and name it! Say, for example, the Black Sword? ) Also: Empire. They don't openly use mages in the Legion.
  6. Should be doable, I converted the DV stuff when that came out, and lots of guys here have Templarified the DW Knights, so, yeah. Go for it!
  7. Congrats on the bronze medal. Well deserved, Brother! I like how that Raven is coming along. Lookin' good!
  8. Your skill is certainly undeniable, Brother! Looking forward to the finished result.
  9. No armor penetration? Nothing that can't be solved with a car battery and some electrical wire!* *Don't do this kids, NEVER attach a car battery to a sword, or anything that isn't a car for that matter!
  10. Epic. Too much to take in in one go, but by the Emperor, that's a lot of stuff.
  11. BREAKING NEWS: Utah man arrested for burning down Haunted house. Claimed he was "purging" his state of "Heresy, witchcraft and Traitors." He also reffered to himself as a "Templar" and asked his fellow "Sword Brethern to join him in his eternal crusade." Psychiatric evaluation pending.
  12. This. Only with a chainsaw and wood blocks. The blocks turn into "Orks, Heretics and Witches" waaaay too fast.
  13. A wise and brave choice, Brother. Congrats on finishing your vows. Very well done! Beautiful models there, I really like the ToT, it came out very well, not even a minor line to show it's been cut up. That's pretty impressive. Also, looking down the barrel of that Primarch's Wrath you made sent a shiver down my spine. The good kind of shiver, the one that says: "Glad you're on my side!"
  14. Ah, sad news indeed. But none of us will hold this against you. You stood by our side when it mattered. Also this is great motivation for next year! (Oh, and I do expect someone to barge in and start throwing fits yelling about Paddleums and paddling. Be warned! )
  15. Well done, Brother! Always nice to see a completed Grimaldus. And while you said it took you a long time, I can honestly say the the gold on that model was worth the time. It's stunning. Absolutely amazing. Well done. Congrats on the completion of your vow. We can use every point.
  16. Amazing Vindicators. Gritty and dirty, clearly well used tanks. You never disappoint, Brother Eberious!
  17. Great stuff Tekman! Awesome Thunderhawk, even though I absolutely hate purple. Well done, Brother! An amazing 3rd vow. Now, tell us. Will there be a 4th?
  18. Ah, the sunburnt skin reminds me of my holiday to Greece a couple years back. Came back looking like a boiled lobster. Sleeping meant agony--> a full 3-nights experience of pain. But! We went to Thermopylae, so it was worth it. Enough about my holiday exploits though; Cool looking Sword Brother. Somehow, red for the Plasma coils looks cooler than I'd have imagined. Occasionally, I feel the same about my own completed models not feeling finished. I blame the other guys on this forum for posting top-quality paint jobs.
  19. Hmmm...Thunderhawk. I'd wish you luck with this massive task, but a true Templar needs none.
  20. I love that Thunderhawk. You did an awesome job on it, as we all knew you would! Sorry to hear about your wrist though, Hope you make a speedy recovery!
  21. I can certainly advise Land Raiders. Even for Lascannons penetrating AV14 is really hard. 2 of them should see your heavy hitters arrive safely.
  22. Outshoot IG? Don't count on it. Guard can bring so many guns, both big and small to the table that it's quite normal to face lengthy shooting phases (which is also why I'm opposed to timing turns, Marine armies play a lot faster than a horde, shooty army. ) Believe me, the shooting turns get worse on high pts. I play 3K Guard at times and my Shooting phases take about as long as my opponent's entire turn. However my movement and assault phases are done in a single minute.
  23. @Scott_Francis: There's always got to be a first!
  24. Cool games, congrats on the wins, especially on the DE. They can be really tough to play. I have a lot of respect for how you handled the IG player. We all know this game is a lot more fun when nobody gets steam-rolled. Land Raider Crusaders are awesome. My group is always happy when they kill one. But when reminded of the second one on the table......
