Version 1.1
293 downloads
The Fra’al are an ancient race of void dwelling pirates, smugglers, black-market traders, and occasional conquerors, which have plagued the Galactic Northwest of the Milky Way for eons. Though their origin worlds are lost to all, including the Fra’al themselves who have forgotten much of their pre-void nomadic wandering, they may fact never had such terrestrial beginnings. What is known is that they are remembered by most other races of antiquity including records kept by the ancient ancestors of the Eldar from before the Fall and the birth of Slaanesh, as well as Human empires rising to prominence before their annihilation during the Age of Strife. Today the Fra’al Conclaves still reap a bitter harvest from the various void-ways and warp-translation lanes, taking what can be acquired by force or otherwise through guile and negotiation. When conflict is preferred or forced upon them, the Fra’al use their innate monstrous Psykana and Aetherically-saturated technology to destroy their enemies. The Version 1.1 Fandex contains the following homebrew lore and rules to play as the Fra'al in 9th Edition WH40K: - Lore on the Fra'al based on Black Library & Forgeworld resources, as well as originally created lore and content. - Detachment Rules and <Conclave> Customisation abilities. - Fra'al Weapons and Wargear rules. - Fra'al Stratagems, Warlord Traits, Aetheric Artefacts, and the new Malevolency Psychic Discipline. - 12 Unique Datasheets for Fra'al HQ, Troops, Elites, Fast Attack, Heavy Support, Flyers, and Lords of War. - Initial Concept Artwork for the Fra'al Troops and Aether-Golems. -

Submissions for Fandex Annual
Codexmaker posted a topic in + NEWS, RUMORS, AND BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS +
Posted with permission of Brother Tyler. Hi everyone. My name is Rob and I run a group on Facebook about fandexes and other homemade rules for GW games. In response to the war in Ukraine, we have decided to create a compilation of homemade rules and share them online to raise money for The Red Cross. We have checked with GW legal who have given us their permission to do this. We're hoping to get everything ready by mid-late April. If you have any homemade rules or codexes for 8th/9th edition 40k, and would like to contribute to the project, please either post them in the fandexes group on facebook or here, and I will add them. Please note that we cannot accept alternative versions of official codexes, but we can accept alternate versions of the main rules. If you have anything else that you would like to share such as rules for necromunda, it's okay to post this but to minimise any delays to publication we're just including rules for 40k for this annual. We are also keen to find volunteers for the graphic side of the project. If you are an artist or have experience in using photoshop, publisher or similar software and can help, please let us know what you can do. Thank you. Rob -
So I think we can mostly agree that the Legends rules for Renegades and Heretics are not exactly ideal. It's better than nothing but it could be a heck of a lot better. That being said? As the saying goes, if you want something done properly you might as well do it yourself, and given we at the very least have a base to work off of, I'm intending to create a fanmade replacement for these somewhat mediocre rules. Now, I should start this off by stating my mission intentions, what this project sets out to do and what it doesn't. After all, I'm no accomplished rulesmith or playtester, so I want to make the "mission statement" as transparent and honest as possible. What this project DOES intend to achieve: What this project DOES NOT intend to achieve: Anyway, now that that's out of the way... BASIC RESOURCES: IDEAS: As mentioned, this is going to be far more than just "AM with spikes", so here's some of my miscellaneous ideas for stuff to differentiate them from their Aquila-wearing counterparts... Anyway, if anyone has any ideas/wants to help out, that would be great! Schlitzaf has already offered to assist, but really anyone who has a contribution, no matter how great or small, is welcome!

Greetings all. The Aett guard or Kaerls of th space wolves are one of our iconic features in our fluff but are not really available for tabletop. Many of you have fantastic converted kaerls and play them as imperial guard. But this doesn't represent the uniqueness of our Kaerls and their role. Now I recall in threads past a debate over the combat experience of the Kaerls, however they crew starships and guard supply stations and operations bases and do much of the grunt work for our chapter. So they end up in it .Not to mention the 2 historic and one recent invasion of fenris where they no doubt saw plenty of action. I'm intending to compose a fandex for our beloved Kaerls. Mostly I will base it on imperial guard for things like stat lines and weapons, but I need your help. For you guys I have the following questions: What infantry weapons would you like to see (auto guns I know are the preferred main weapon but I mean upgrade ones like melta etcetera)? What vehicles should be included? Any stat rejiggs to reflect our unique fluff? Also any name adjustments feel free to suggest (hopefully with fluff justification) Here's my base outline so far- HQ Riven master (stats and options similar to company commander) Troops Kaerls (infantry squad based, no heavy option here though, instead 2 special melee weapons or perhaps access to combat shields) Elites Veteran kaerls (veteran base maybe swap VS and WS) Heavy support Heavy weapons team (no name as of yet, identical to guard unit) Let me know your thoughts and ideas. This is a very open project feel free to contribute.
