  1. I'm sure there will be a lot of outcry from the initial reaction of Primaris being Inducted into the Ravenwing, Deathwing, and Inner Circle. Because of the implications this would cause, I would tell you that there is certainly some things that we, as the Unforgiven, should be up-in-arms about! Come brothers, join me in this quest: 1. There are now two different types of Primaris Dark Angels a. Those of the initial Ultima Founding who were fully trained by the Adeptus Mechanicus before they were placed in cryo sleep. The Unforgiven understandably does not trust these new men as their loyalty lies with the Imperium (primarily Cawl, Bobby G, and the Emperor) b. Dark Angels who have crossed the Primaris Rubicon and have been fully restored as Primaris GW has given us a reason to field Green-Wing Primaris from a fluff standpoint. Better yet, these rising wave of Primaris can be trusted as they were originally the same Dark Angels that were hand-picked from the beginning and have undergone all of the trials, tribulations and Caliban rituals to reach their rank! 2. Implications of Primaris becoming a part of the Ravenwing & Deathwing a. If there was ever a time for GW to come out with a line of Primaris Bikers, it would have been when the Scars Supplement book came out. Because this did not happen, how do we field our height-challenged brothers? Answer: WE CAN'T There may be some of you that suggest using mkX Omnis armour or maybe the Phobos-pattern with Grav-chutes? I do not believe this is correct as our GreenWing field Jump-Pack Squads just fine. The Ravenwing has always been about speed on Bikes & Land Speeders!! b. Don't even get me started on inducted Deathwing members WHOSE SOLE ARMOUR OF CHOICE HAS ALWAYS BEEN TERMINATOR ARMOUR. But sure; if Primaris have to be ham-fisted into the 1st Chapter, what type of armour would qualify? Must be able to Teleport/Deep Strike in to hunt the Fallen, have an invulnerable save, and carry a signature melee weapon. In case you were scratching that head to come up with a unit from GW's current line of Space Marines, we currently do not have Primaris to foot this bill.
  2. With the return of Index Astartes to the White Dwarf, I thought it'd be interesting to hear which warbands you guys think are important or unique enough to deserve a treatment in the magazine. My pick would be the Crimson Slaughter - I think the most accurate way to represent them on the table at the moment is to field them with the World Eaters legion tactic, but they're more than just mad butchers... despite their name. Getting a couple of their relics back to represent Kranon the Relentless or maybe Draznicht would also be a huge deal for them, aswell as a unique warlord trait. Any other opinions?
  3. ++Commencing Simulus++ ... ... ... Brothers in Iron, with the recent attention lavished on certain Chapters in Vigilus and White Dwarf, my hopes for something new and interesting for the Iron Hands and their successors is kindled anew. Not being one normally prone to flights of fancy or distasteful mortal frailties such as optimism, I find my cognitive functions warming to the calculus of probability. Considering the order of battle, It stands to reason that we may expect a Specialist Detachment in Vigilus book 2 for either the Hands themselves, or one of their two Successors present. Failing that, White Dwarf is a reasonable alternate possibility. What then, brothers, do we expect or hope for? Addendum: do try to keep within the bounds of realistic expectation. >>Improbability is simply inevitability viewed over too short a time frame<<

  5. From the album: The Helion Legion

Within the hallowed pages of White Dwarf 297 (Published September 2004, also my very first copy of the magazine.) One shall find the first appearance of the Helion Legion in a article about one hobbyist's project to revive an old chapter concept using (then) up to date models. This article gave many hobbyists a fairly in depth look at the chapter's inspirations, livery, history and a How-To section so others can build, paint and play the Helion Legion chapter themselves. Since then there were a few extra images and a article found on GW's old website revolving around the Helion Legion (or in the web article's case it's terminators) But not long afterwards it seems like this chapter has been largely forgotten by many, Not even the official Warhammer 40k wiki even mentions this chapter and they have a few articles already based on semi-official/official fan made chapters. So please enjoy what history has to offer and I hope it inspires you to pursue your own ideas. PAGE 6 of 6
