Greetings all! With the release of the new codex and my other army finally starting to really take shape I'm pretty sure that my next army will be the thousand sons. Overall I think this codex is looking fairly strong, and I really like the models and fluff around it. My line of thinking for the army is that it'll be more infantry focused, because I really like the infantry models and because my other army is a lot more vehicle focused. I don't like to play with named characters so the HQ's would consist of exalteds, a daemon prince and a terminator sorcerer. Some people here seem to be somewhat down on the rubricae but in my opinion they seem fine, they might not be the absolute best unit in the game but they're a very solid all-rounder I think. And the models are amazing. The Tzaangors all seem really good and I'm one of those people who quite like the models too so I'll probably end up fielding quite a few of them. Thinking about 2x30 of them, with a shaman and 2 groups of enlightened (one with spears, one with bows) and a Mutalith since it's a good force multiplier. Where I personally struggle with my potential list building is how to handle flyers. I'm not of the opinion that we (I get to say that now, right?) have weak anti tank capabilities, but most of them are hard hitting close combat options. Daemon engines have poor ballistic skill so hitting stuff like alaitoc hemlocks is really difficult and charging them is suicide. So what tips do you guys have for that? I'd prefer to stay completely Thousand sons, non forge world, but I'm open to all suggestions. Also, I'm really digging the little backstory you get on Sect of the Red Echo from the codex but some quick googling didn't really get me any additional info on them, is there a place to read more or are they basically unknown? Thanks in advance guys

Dark Mechanicum with a Tzeentchian twist. That's the plan with this new Plog. Myself and a group of fellow hobbyists have been fully engrossed by 8th Edition and all it brings and this has led to us deciding to do a Tale of Hobbyists. I have decided to actually start working on the Adeptus Mechanicus models i picked up two years ago (on release) and create a Dark Mechanicus army led by Tzeenchian aligned Archmagos. So with the pre-order around the corner, this is a conversation about the upcoming Chapter Approved changes specifically. (Please no codex wishlisting here, we've got a topic for that.) Very little basic rules changes seem to be coming that we didn't know/suspect. Stuff like Boots on the Ground ; unfortunately this takes away from the usefulness of the Heldrake a little more... and I do use it. And Objective Secured, which I think is great for Tzaangor players like myself. Interestingly enough they do mention lots of point decreases, an where they seem to indicate most increases is with anything you've seen in an Imperium HQ tournament slot. (Celestine,Guilliman, Cawl). Of course Maelific Lords got smashed with an increase due to abuse. But they do mention Chaos reductions. Nothing concrete yet for Thousand Sons in particular. There's "build your own Landraider" with Reaper Autocannons, but it will be allowable only in open play. This is a rumour I can't confirm on points changes we -may- use: Chaos Space Marines Force Axe 10 Force Stave 8 Force Sword 8 Helbrute Fist single/pair 40/50 Predator Autocannon 40 Thousand Sons: Warlord Trait: Re-roll Deny Witch Tests Relic: rolling doubles for psychic tests means the opponent may not resist with deny the witch or negate it by any means. Psychic Power: Warp charge of 7. Select an enemy unit within 18″ and roll 9 dice. The unit suffers mortal wounds on each roll of a 6 Stratagems: 1CP If within 6″ of at least 2 other friendly TS psykers, you can add 2 to your psychic test. I'll add/ edit as more 'truth' comes out! Please feel free to add, or comment, but please keep it to Chapter Approved and not codex wish-listing.

So given that I have half a dozen different projects on the go and trying to compile all my disparate ideas into one thread was perhaps not the best plan, I thought I'd instead start some individual blogs for each project in the relevant boards. In case you hadn't guessed, this one is for my assorted Daemons. I'm planning on collecting forces of all four powers of Chaos over time, though predominantly I'll be focussing my efforts on Slaanesh and Nurgle for now (though I do have minis for the other Gods in the pipeline). So, let's get to the juicy stuff shall we? I've already posted my Changeling and Beast of Nurgle on the forum before, so I'll just leave those links in place and instead post fresh WIPs of my Infernal Enrapturess, purchased today! Also been working on a Fiend conversion from a metal Hive Guard (which I started loing before plastic Fiends were a twinkle in Slaanesh's eye) And finally, some Plague Drone WIPs (though the models have somewhat progressed since these photos). I have various other things I'm working on but this was all I had photographed at the moment. Hopefully I actually update this thread!
