I'm glad people like the idea of the drill and the dread as a whole, thanks.

 

I do have a little bad news though. This project, along with all my other mini related stuff will be going on an indefinite hold as I try to relax and let the feeling of converting burnout pass. I have just finished a project building a Brass Scorpion for a client and having been really ill and trying to finish it for a deadline has worn me out. The end result of the project has left me very displeased with the way the Brass Scorpion has turned out and left me not wanting to do anymore conversion work at all. I will post pics of it when my client has finished painting it as we have made an agreement that I can do so.

 

I do hope to return to this project sometime, but I really need a break from the converting for a while.

Well, I am ####### ###### OFF. I just got off the phone with a friend where I had left this because he was helping me with ideas for the second close combat weapon. Sometime last night his Bungalow was broken into and it was stolen, along with an unassembled Land Raider and, the rather odd to steal item, a Mr Bump coffe mug.

 

We have an idea of who may be involved and are having it followed up, but there is no gaurentee that we are correct, or that we will get the stuff back.

 

I am sorry to all those who have been looking forward to updates, but unless I get it back, there wont be any.

Was it someone with a personal grudge against you/ your friend? It bloody sounds like it to me.

 

Make sure to skin the guy alive. Preferably with one of those skaggy old hobby scalpels with all the jagged bits of glue on them, and the chips where you figured it would be ok to just kinda hack bits off pewter models with it. Make sure you dip it in something rancid first.

 

Mmmm. I feel good now. Time for nap.

 

But seriously, do whatever you can to put the guy through pain.

How low can a collector get? He didn't steal anything valuable such as a TV or a games console, but he steals a bunch of (very well made) miniatures instead. I've only just found this thread and to know that it was stolen is just wrong on all levels!!!

 

Still, since the model's so unique it would be easy to spot so I'll be keeping my eyes on ebay incase it turns up there.

 

When you find him, post up a picture of the evil poor excuse for a human before and after he's been "punished" by Khorne for stealing a valuable weapon to the ruinous powers

We all need to do this. Just as a caution though...if you see it up on Ebay, don't message the seller...report it to Ebay Security, and let them do their job. The perp may try to sell it under a hacked account, and the account owner may not even know.

If it is who we suspect, then it is someone with a personal grudge against my mate. We believe it to be someone he has had several run-ins with but have left it to be dealt with by the appropriate people. Also, if it is him, he is not a gamer or collector.

 

In regards to why it was only minis taken and not other items, it is because it was what we call a bungalow (a seperate, self contained one room building) that was broken into, not the main house. The only things other than miniatures that are in there are an old microwave, ancient fridge, table to work on and a single bed. We think the only reason my mates tools weren't stolen was because they are in an old Weetbix box and the other miniatures weren't as easy to grab quickly.

 

We have left the matter with the appropriate people to deal with and are keeping an eye out on ebay and local trading shops.

 

Thanks for all the replies. I will let you know if we find out anything or, very unlikely as it may be, we recover the dread and other items. I really don't hold out much hope of getting the dread back, but you never know.

Terrible news. BTW I hate you for using EVEN THE SPRUES to create a wonderful model :D I'm kidding but certainly makes me envious, I use the sprues to stir my paint pots, most conversion work I have ever done with the sprues.

 

Hopefully they will turn up and the person charged and tossed into the digger.

Oh dear God-Emperor, what sort of retarded, demented and utterly idiotic little prick would break in somewhere and steal a Dread and a Land raider??? I mean omg! Want me to go tell the Interrogator-Chaplains? They know the way of making people tell stuff alright
