Startin' the raptor squad: As everyone know, that raptors have maws in their shoulderpads, so I'm continuing the idea. All of the raptors will have painted maws on their leg armour, and the aspiring champion will have sculpted maws. I'm thinking to name the squad "Devourers of the unfaithful", or something similar. Spent most of the night testing them out on couple of models. For him I used Babad Black and Baal Red, both undiluted: Really killed inks gloss, and gave sorta realistic tone. I'm really pleased. The new washes look quite handy. Been hoping to try mine out for a short while now, alas, finding time is never easy. I tried the washes at Gamesday twice, then I went and bought a set of them. I have OCD about paints, I have to buy a whole set. :( They are fantastic and I now use them in almost all of my painting. Doesn't matter what the color. It is also nice that you can mix washes together to fit your needs as well. Fantastic looking models, kikkala. I really love the Chaos Custodes models. I was careful not to carve too much out them, otherwise they had broken. @TAS Glad that you like it. You MUST try them out, they are too good to be true :( . @Alpha PTP I agree with you there mate :P . Washes = awesome. @Tigris Ah! Another follower of Slaanesh I see :( . No, the other raptor isn't... errr.. impaled by the other one, just the camera angle, yeah that's right. :P First raptor (almost) completed! Couple of details left unpainted. (Can ya spot 'em?) As the left shoulder pad is occupied with the maw detail, the next best place for legion symbols was left "turbine" of jumppack. I think it is reasonable place for the symbol. As some of you have already seen on Call of Chaos, my Daemon prince is nearing completion: But here comes the problem: how should I paint the beard and dreadlocks? I could paint it blondish to tie it up to my ph-mascot (scroll up for pic), but blonde daemon prince :o ! I'll try to take a some group pic for you captain maximus by tomorrow. What do you think? As you suggested black dreadlocks: Well, I decided to go more lighter grey, because the skin is very very dark grey, otherwise the dreads and the skin would have been the same color. Also, your Word Bearers are awesome, but the skull hanging down from the arrow on the sorcerer's tabard seems to give a sense of movement that the rest of the model doesn't have.
