Does anyone want to write up a tutorial for scratch-making decent-looking Storm Shields? I'm planning a model where his shield needs to be a strong focal point and I don't want it to look blah.

Wings: http://mandragoreminiatures.free.fr/tutoai...agonanglais.pdf, skulls: http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=7329, pale flesh: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=173272, veins: I've never painted veins myself but I imagine I'd start by painting thin rippled lines on the basecoat (flesh) with a colour mix consisting of the flesh basecoat + a dark colour (say blue), ratio 80-20. All that is left is to carefully glaze up using the base flesh colour and very subtly highlight the ridges of the veins.

Type: Modeling

Race: Space Marines

Details: How to make home-brew cloaks for space marines.

I want to make a cloak for my marines, kinda similar to the ones the storm wardens wear (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/File:Storm_Warden.png). The one that comes with the commander model isn't exactly what I am looking for.

Amazing as ever Brother Nihm, I thank you :tu:
You are welcome. :)

Okay, I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I need assembly advice. How would you assemble a marine-sized metal model?
That depends entirely on which metal model you mean, usually they have very few pieces, in which case you just pose them and glue them with metal glue; and if some of said pieces are rather large, you'll probably want to pin them.

Here's a guide on how to pin (large models in particular) http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...rue&start=2

Checking the Librarium first is always a good idea,

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...mp;aId=12300001, if you want to pump it up a little, you can add a thinned green wash or a blue at the last step. e.g. try it out on a test model first. Edited by Brother Nihm

Caboose

Basecoat Catachan Brown

Drybrush Bone white or some other brownish hued white

Wash of Badab Black, then Devlan mud.

Tutorial Request

Type : Painting

Race : Space Marines

Details : Glowing eye lenses in red [with the glow going onto the helmet if you know what I mean]

Cheers in advance :cuss

link, but substitute the greens for reds+oranges. (there is more to it than that of course but I am no expert)

Tutorial Request

Type : Modelling

Race : Any

Details : I am wanting to make a diorama, and was wondering if anyone knew of any tutorials on where to start, basing, etc.

There is a ton of basing articles out there, google around, as for the diorama itself. Start out with an idea and refine from there, look at existing dioramas for ideas and hints as to what works and what doesn't.

i.e. here is a nice diorama in the making: link
