-Brutus-
Your army is excellent. I just looked through every page and it's quite cool how your skills are improving, seemingly, with every model. The obliterators are just awesome and the warlock is probably my personal favorite. The legs and feet (claws) are so well sculpted. However, I demand you tell me your recipe for your blue armour highlights and the recipe for your bone colour. It's just awesome! =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229861-nls-8th-upd-2282014/page/14/#findComment-3393833 Share on other sites
DarkVen
Many thanks for your comments guys :) still I beg your pardon for that I have not so much to present to you this time. But I promise that soon you'll see much more. Â -Brutus- No problemo :) here it is: Â Armor and highlights: Base - Abaddon black Highlight edges with layer of Vallejo MC Dark Prussia Blue, leaving center black. Then again highlight edges with layer of Vallejo GC Imperial blue, leaving previous layer visible, so that there is smooth transit black->blue. Highlight with Citadel Enchanted Blue. Highlight the very corners with Citadel Ice Blue. Â Bones: Base - Kommando Khaki (or, probably, Rakarth Flesh - don't know, haven't tried this yet). Heavy wash with Gryphone Sepia. Light drybrush with Kommando Khaki. Light drybrush with Bleached Bone, then highlight edges with it. Highlight the very edges with Skull White. -Brutus-
Excellent! Thanks a lot for that. I guess I need to prepare for my exam this Friday rather than paint them oh well. Still, I hope you enjoy. death given form
Holy awesome, man. They look even scarier with some paint on them. Thumbs up all the way, they're amazing. I'm guessing we'll have to wait until after exams to see your sorcerer finished up? DarkVen
death given form I hope the look scary in a good sense Well, I'd say 'no': The last exam is on 5th or 6th, and I'm starting playing campaign 6th or 7th July, and I need at least one 'character' for the first battle. Nevertheless, he'll be painted not sooner than a week. Though I am able to paint warlock in a day, he has tricky base that will include some water effects. I have no experience with modeling water so it'll take me a while to finish him. I hope though that I'll paint him along with the first captain. Alpha PTP
Brilliant work as always, Ven. I can't wait to see more, mate. Be careful with that modeling water. It can be a disaster if you don't do it right. At my local shop they poured some on a few pieces of terrain that we had and they goofed the mixture so it never dried. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229861-nls-8th-upd-2282014/page/14/#findComment-3397437 Share on other sites

Brother Ambroz
Too bad GW doesn't have you or Guitarasimus on their sculpting team, they'd make tons of money that way. These oblits are awesome as usual. Hulking but not over-the-top with weapons like GW versions. mateus of ultramar
those oblits are insane, I absolutely love them man, anychance I could get a partslist? DarkVen
Tanith Ghost Many thanks, brother! :) Although I picked some really cool ideas when I discussed them in my Russian forum, of how I could keep them closer to the original and make even more badass. I guess when I'm going to make another oblit or possessed squad, I will add some kind of muscles to the armor, like Mephiston or Astorath have. What do you think? Â mateus of ultramar Thanks for the comment, man :) well, about the partlist... it's a bit tough, because I can't remember where is the half of the bits from. I can still say that I used GK terminators as a base, added Def's face masks to their backs, heads are from various chaos kits (the helmet is from new chaos raptor kit), random plasma cannons. Daemonic face on the first PC is from FB chaos knights kit; the flamer on the second one is from cadian IG kit. Sorry, that's all what I can remember so far :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229861-nls-8th-upd-2282014/page/14/#findComment-3398998 Share on other sites

DarkVen
Thanks guys :) Â Small update on progress: I just started campaign with the friend of mine. Since previous update I kinda painted warlock and another Rhino transport. Though they were painted in hurry (in the night before the game, lol), so I'd like to correct some of mistakes I made. And also I need to paint lots of stuff before the next game (which goes this Saturday), so it'll be a bit tight with updates. But I assure you guys, as soon as I'll be able to make a proper full update - I will show you all the progress I'll make by that moment. Hopefully that'll happen this weekend. Â Stay tuned! DarkVen
meanwhile, AVE DOMINUS NOX, ladies and gentlemen! I recently finished my Land Raider: http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/8538/rcmo.jpg http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/332/qnu1.jpg Nothing breathtaking though, I think. I actually wanted to turn this into a cathedral on tracks (lol), but then, LR is a combat vehicle in the first line. Some nice little decoration is always possible and adds originality to the vehicle, but I feel there is an amount of ornaments and such, exceeding of which means turning tank into a :cuss wagon. And a bit more models. A small ally-expansion of my force, if you will. Additional plague marines: http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/110/a5z8.jpg http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/3756/3ovo.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/1552/ej94.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/2603/fbz4.jpg http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/6995/k3y9.jpg nota bene: I already improved them (but just a little bit, nothing special to show). Well, why only 4? I actually already have about 10 plague marines that were painted back when I just was starting my first csm-army. Yet, the war calls, and I needed a magnetized champion with a fist, 2 meltas and 1 regular plague marine. So, here they are. What do you think guys?
