Flint13
Looks great Ven! Those defilers have a ton of small bits and detail that are a real endurance trial to paint. Have to say I kinda like the MARK1 label. It's like a left over remnant of the machine the defiler used to be before it exploded into a giant robot daemon spider ^_^
DarkVen
Sorry guys, I felt asleep right after I've posted pics. noctus cornix You are right. I prefer to see it like a small group of marines bonded together decided to join my warband after their own has fallen apart. forte To be honest, I haven't saved anything from Defiler - it seems like all the spare bits are already used in other miniatures. The Def itself was built from random parts I could find for this weapon choice. Tanith Ghost Honestly, these allied happened by accident. I have never thought that my force will include any allies - but looking into my boxes, looks like there are at least 2 more legions waiting to be presented. As for a proper IW leader, my Call of Chaos vow may cast some light on it -Max- Many thanks for kinds words I myself like cold-minded efficient Iron Warriors too, as the opposite to classic cruel and somewhat savage Night Lords. Beside that, they have very different painting scheme what makes them nice thing to paint while I'm stuck with the VIIIth a bit. 1000heathens I've gutted him bloody with body parts flying all around my room. The first version serves as a base for the second one, while I saved some parts (like back part) that turned out nice almost unchanged. About Iron Warrior leader - right at the moment I see them as heavy mechanized somewhat fantasy-stylized marines. So the leader will be kinda mix of knight armor, iron man armor, recent daemon engines chassis and random pure fantasy details. But I'll keep in mind the concept of a 'blunt' helmet. Do you guys have cookies in your legion? Brother Heinrich Thanks, brother speaking of stencil - Mk1 is Defiler, Mk2 are Fiends. I didn't want to miss an opportunity to draw a connection between these two walkers, since I'm making my own version of Maulerfiends. Flint13 You will laugh, but the Defiler is painted almost entirely with drybrush and washes only. Exceptions are freehands and black parts. I've spent about a day and half painting it from black base to final colored version.

I've been gathering the ideas for a very long time... hopefully I'll make it.But before I do that I need to finish the old work. I will post something new soon. Stay tuned. DarkVen
Many thanks, batu, I'm glad you like them. These are actually chaos spawns (or rather my nightlordy approach on them). I will post chosen in a few days.
batu
Really cool spawns ! What kits did you use ? Apart from the Vargheist kit ? Can't wait to see your chosen :) Why did you decide to restart the army ? I probably know why......I did that sort of thing myself a couple of time ;)

DarkVen
batu Apart from Vargheist kit - I think mostly Daemon Prince and Spawns kit only, really. There are some parts taken from the other kits (like mutated human faces are from WoC Marauders and from Catachan infantry kit), but nothing worth mentioning, I guess. Because couple of reasons, actually. In short - I want to do better than I did previous. jimmy101 Many thanks! I'll try not fail your expectations. Darth Mustard Thanks, Mustard. I'm glad I've managed to make them look original. ElDuderino You flatter :) there are guys out there who manage to make it better than me. Tanith Ghost Many thanks for your kind words, Tanith. I think from these 5 buddies the one with tail is the rawest... but still I'm glad to hear you like him.

Fracture
Stunning, absolutely stunning stuff here. I'm in awe of the conversion work going in here, the auto cannon terminator stood out as particularly nice.

DarkVen
Jaspcat That shall happen! Fracture Thanks, Fracture. Btw, terminators are one of my concerns at the mo (although they technically belong in the old part of the army). Demon2027 Thank you, but that shall happen a bit later - as I've said, there is some stuff I need to take care of before I can move on. Dragonkin Arenis Thanks. Still, I'm not the master :) Flint13 You and Heinrich gave me a nice inspirational kick with your work. It's always good to have someone to friendly compete with, I guess. DarkVen
Let's stay with English, guys :) http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a627/Vengord/243A043E043F0438044F041A043E043F04380440043E043204300442044C0_zpsab81a648.png http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a627/Vengord/Chosen_1_zpsff13d48c.jpg http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a627/Vengord/Chosen_1_1_zps4cfe50a7.jpg http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a627/Vengord/Chosen_1_2_zps6cb7f3dd.jpg http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a627/Vengord/Chosen_1_3_zps9f9d8762.jpg http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a627/Vengord/Chosen_1_4_zpsd52c4aa2.jpg http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a627/Vengord/Chosen_1_5_zps78449c15.jpg This unit survived many incarnations. I've started it a long time ago - I believe right after first two squads of CSM were completed, right at the end of the 5th edition. Times have changed and so did they. They were a good warming-up, I should feel a brush in my hand and remember how I paint miniatures. I'm relatively happy with them (the only thing that holds me up to redo them one more time is that they're painted after a really long brake). Now my next entry may take couple of days (probably a week). Stay tuned.
Hyaenidae
That champion is a bloody boss, dude. How did you build the arm holding the plasma gun?
DarkVen
1000heathens Thanks! I cut the upper part of the arm (that is usually glued to the body), added mechanical elbow, then glued the plasma gun and then added the rest like the forearm and fingers. The quasi-shoulder pad is made with plasticard tubes.
Nomus Sardauk
I hate to be that guy but, the Plasma-Gunner's trigger arm doesn't seem properly connected to the torso to my eyes, is it not or am I finally succumbing to the madness?
