Great work as usual! Would love to know how you use your weathering powders. Do you apply them dry and then fix? Or as a wash?

As a wash I thin it right down with water and then paint it on to the areas where I want it to be.

GW are giving away a Deathwing Knight model as this month's free model at their stores. As soon as I saw the Deathwing Knights I knew they were supposed to be Imperial Fists or Black Templars, not Dark Angels

Same here, reminded me a lot of the Forge World Imperial Fist Terminator Praetor.

I've recently been working on Fulgrim Transfigured! He's nearly done now, I just need to work on the wings.

Fulgrim is finished! He is probably my favourite ever GW model. It's such a nice sculpt.

Loves those Imperial Fists and that Fulgrim....just wow! That is definitely an army centre piece! Shame it would be a dirty traitor but we can't have everything

I've loved your ec stuff for years but Fulgrim... I'm not just brown nosing but honestly, I don't have the words to describe how awesome this is. Many have been painted but this knocks them out the park.

 

How did you get the armour plates to be so vivid? Any advice would be appreciated. I stopped painting mine as I couldn't get the plates how I wanted them.

Really glad you like it bro! I used Warlord Purple for the armour, it's a naturally vivid colour, but adding highlights and shadows is what really makes it pop.

Mmmmmmmm, that early Heresy nostalgia!

 

This piece was a lot of sun to work on and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

 

Anyone that's a fan of the Heresy knows all about this scene. It was one of the many climactic scenes of the first three Heresy novels, and perfectly encapsulates the fratricidal tragedy of the setting. 

 

The physical models themselves were also one of the earlier Heresy releases along side the legendary first Black Book: Betrayal.

I'm keen to get some of the new Emperor's Children models, I've been waiting fifteen years for them. At this stage I don't have any plans for a large project or new army. Waiting for the new edition to come out is stopping me from committing to anything new at the moment. I'll definitely get some of the new models though, even if it's just to paint a couple up for fun.

Thanks bro! Yeah, it was strange not to add any weathering or scratches to the model. Definitely more of a standard GW approach.
