Your metallics are awesome Kizz. I love the "sky-earth true metal painting" vibe that you give them. The sides of the lascannons are perfect in that regard.

I'm just about to put a Forgeworld order in! I'll be getting a Spartan and probably a Venator and/or Scorpius. I was seriously tempted to get a Stormeagle (they seems so perfect for the III Legion) instead of the Spartan, but the Spartan just seems too good to pass up.

I also put in a new FW order last night (Spartan, Venator and Autocannons for my unbuilt Deredeo). I'm in the process of planing my next vow although it probably wont include Spartan or Venator.

I might agree with Fire Golem that the pose is a bit static but I know how the contemptor can be a bit of a bitch to pose and the esquire painting more then makes up for it. Edited June 10, 2015 by The Hydra

To be completely honest, I'm not a fan of the pose. The painting is exquisite though.

Yeah, the idea behind the pose was to keep it pretty stationary, as if the Mortis was preparing to fire all systems. I agree that It's less than inspiring though. If/ when I build another Contemptor, it with definitely be posed more dynamically :)

I kind of guessed that's what you were going for. I think in the middle of battle, even charging up to fire, it would still not be quite so square on. But its a minor point compared to the painting which is amazing.

I've just built these five legionaries. The idea is that the bolter armed warriors will replace the plasma gunners in my Veteran squads so that I can use them as regular Tacticals and the plasma armed warrior will be the sergeant of a five man Tactical Support Squad. I'm also working on blinging up a couple of Mars pattern Rhinos with the relevant III Legion iconography.

Thanks, bro! The combat blades are high elf spear tops. I think they work pretty well as gladius type weapons for the Emperor's Children :)

My part of the haul consists of a Spartan, Sicaran Venator, Anvilus Autocannon Battery and EC etched brass.
