Tyrannicide
The Thousand Sons colors should be nominated for "best in class", you've certainly done them justice. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236305-the-sekhmethh-emperors-children-loken-vs-abaddon-12624/page/2/#findComment-2861157 Share on other sites
DarKHaZZ13
For the bases, how about paving stones and sand together in places? I reckon some shards of broken glass would be pretty epic aswell (Blank CD protectors). Great models man, looking forward to more of the same standerd soon (Y) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236305-the-sekhmethh-emperors-children-loken-vs-abaddon-12624/page/2/#findComment-2861262 Share on other sites
Kizzdougs
Thanks for the positive comments guys :D I actually made the base for terminator 1 last night. It is a mix of paving stones and desert like terrain, a nice combination of the ideas that were suggested. I think its looking quite good so far. So thank every body! Hopefully i can get it painted today and have some pictures up later tonight. the damned artificer
I love your termie, it looks exactly how I imagined them from "A thousand sons". This is surely in the grade A of pre-heresy projects, well done. I'll be following your progress with joy  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236305-the-sekhmethh-emperors-children-loken-vs-abaddon-12624/page/2/#findComment-2861388 Share on other sites
Gop
Really nice painting. You have a steady hand. I wasn't sold on the orangey colour on the test mini but later it seems to have darkened on the termi and looks much better. Might have also been the lighting in the photo. Keep it up! Kizzdougs
@Gop: Thanks mate. The new pics i've uploaded show the colour a little better. I hope you like it @the damned artificer: I'm glad you're liking the project so far. Hopefully you continue to As promised i've painted up the base for Terminator 1. I used green stuff or the paving (you can see fingerprints on some of the stones  ). http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN0319-1.jpg?t=1314686291 The finished product. As all ways thanks for the ideas, comments and suggestions. Brother Caedrius
That Termie on base is looking absolutely bad- :) ! Don't mind the fignerprints, i thought it looked like part of the natural formation of the stone slabs :) Paint job is superb. My only comment that could be even considered remotely critical is: Not too keen on some of the leftover Grey Knights wirting embelishing the armour and the only bit I've seen that made me do a minor 'hmmm' is TITAN on one of the legs, as I say only a minor point and more something to consider for other mini's So I'll be tracking this to keep up with the super work :P Edited August 31, 2011 by Brother Caedrius Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236305-the-sekhmethh-emperors-children-loken-vs-abaddon-12624/page/2/#findComment-2862986 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
I honestly didn't spot them as fingerprints, I thought it was striated rock. plasman
The force weapon. The blue detailing took a little patience. I can imagine that. darth_giles
I honestly didn't spot them as fingerprints, I thought it was striated rock. Don't beat yourself up over it. Agreed, I looked for fingerprints and saw natural rock. Looks great from here. Did I ever mention how nice it is to see an army where everybody has a textured base instead of just the usual flat base with turf flock, and then somehow an unexplained stone under the chaos lord or dreadnought? Kizzdougs
I'm glad you all like the base :) So i've just finished assembling my third Scarab Occult terminator. He took a little longer to build because of the extra detail. I think he will most likely act as the squads leader. Any comments or ideas for improvement are more than welcome. Hopefully i'll get some more painting done soon... http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN0337.jpg?t=1314962884 Thanks for looking ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236305-the-sekhmethh-emperors-children-loken-vs-abaddon-12624/page/2/#findComment-2864974 Share on other sites
Torvak Kyre
Honestly this is the best Thousand Sons army I have ever seen. Maybe even the best Pre Heresy army I have seen. And I'm a space wolf player! Great Work. Edit: how did you do the Chest plates on the terminators. Kizzdougs
Thanks Darth. yet another fantastic mini, really fits the champion look. is that saurons mace? Sure is :D I thought it looked suitably impressive and lethal... Fenris Kid Posted Yesterday, 10:23 PM Honestly this is the best Thousand Sons army I have ever seen. High praise indeed, especially from a son of Russ (don't worry i wont tell the other wolves ;) ). The chest plates are from the GK terminator kit. I've embellished them with green stuff, Tomb King bitz and gems from the high elf range. I hope this answers your question. Was there a particular chest plate you were wondering about?
