The dreads are looking good. Wasnt sure on the mark IV helm at first, looks a bit better with the guard. Could a tartaros helm maybe work a bit better. Its like a mark IV helm but a little bigger.

 

I agree on the LE model, will look craking in your army. Has me thinking about revisiting to the Iron Warriors myself...

I've use the last of the Night Lord Terror squad helmet.  Just for the skull mask & that way like the yellow & black strip help break up the model painting wise :D  Since use those part on my Biker unit, I do want to try use them along with the T face berserker, Red Scorpion Honour Guard & MkIII.

 

I'll be looking forward to & dreading the 7th/8th Feb with the Horus Heresy weekender for any future kits/preview to use for future conversion.

- Add blue wash to the Plasma cannon

- Add Forge World Weather Powder

- Just few highlight to finish painting.

 

I've also got the Khorne Berzerker (Forge World) trophie today.  So try get that sorted tomorrow so that ready for painting during the weekend.  Still waiting to see if my friend found some nids part to use toward trophies.

I'm looking forward to useing the Dreadnought in next week game.  Just think it will be pretty cool with them being part of a strike force led by Lord Narach & Terminators bodyguard, going for the heart of my oppent army. 
 

After this.  I will be focuse on getting the third knight converted up so it ready for painting soon.  After useing the Autocannon part to rep the Heavy Stubber weapon, I'm thinking of making those changies to my other knights as well as it look cooler in my view.  Also got the start of my Rapier Weapons Battery unit, want to try get the first model ready for painting next week.

Then it just to wait for next week with the Horus Heresy weekender to see what happing & any cool future models for conversion :biggrin.:

With the base - I've added a few of the Eldar ruin from the Farseer single spure model.  I though be cool to add some of this to show that the world, my Iron Warriors are battle one.  Try show that it was once Eldar, then nothing, then Imperial dueing the Great Crusade up to now.  It also to tie in a bit with my friend Eldar army, as he recently been getting base sorted taken idea from my own with his own take.  Useing foam board for a bit more of a city ruin look.

I've shown the Eldar army a while back when I was trying work out idea for my 5th Grand Company Banner for my object marker for Emperor Will.

 

Overall for this unit.  I want them to be siege like & useing the Ironclad armour plate to help this.  Also wanted them to have sort of Obliterator virus (It will not die) & Machine.

I'm looking forward to useing them in there first game.  Just think it pretty cool how a strike force with Lord Narach, Sorcerer (still sort name out) & Terminator bodyguard would be supported by a Mayhem pack during siege or trench warfare.

Next

 

Rapier Weapons Battery unit.  I saw on one of the facebook group, where a memeber use the FW Thudd Gun for there Heresy era Iron Warriors force & it look really cool.
I've been looking for a model to use for Rapier weapon since Armour 13 was release last year.  Seen the great Heresy era IW conversion on facebook, it look cool & I though I try it but try make it Chaos era.

 

The FW Rapier model does look cool, but did not click for me.  The other though was the Thunderfire Cannon from the Space Marine range........but after building two last year........ Not one of my favrout models to build.......

I've just got another two to buy. 

I'm going to cut out part of the oval base so the 25mm base can fit into slot.  Just help the look & so model are on level with the battery.

Those dreads look awesome! That is one unit I would loathe to fight against on the battlefield.

 

The thudd gun also looks very cool! I have to say it looks more fitting in the hands of an Iron Warrior and compliments their siege background. Why have a thunderfire cannon or rapier on mobility scooter treads when I can lug my artillery piece around?

As said there with the Thudd gun I saw on facebook a memeber was useing the weapon for there Heresy era Iron Warriors.  It look cool, they done really great work on the model & tie in really well with the IW theme.

I though it would be great way to use the model to rep Rapier Weapons Battery.  Part this is for the World War 1 look for the artillery & another is, it look like a great model.  Other though was the Marine Thunder Fire cannon......having built this.......never again........unless it release in plastic...... only other model I've not enjoy building is the FW Storm Eagle, cool looking model, just found it a nightmare to build.

 

But the Thudd gun been base today.  I've ended up chosen to add the two Iron Warriors to the oval base.  Just felt trying to cut part so the 25mm base could slot in would be a bit to much hassle & incase any mess up.  So I will paint them seprate & then glue them onto the main base once there all finish.  I'm looking forward adding this unit & be cool have mini diroma.

 

Also got a bit more work done to the Knight.  Hopeful have the model ready for undercaoting by next weekend.  Just trying to work out how I want to get the base to look?

 

 

I've been following your work since your Space Wolves thread, I think before you started this one. Your armies are crazy good. Hazard stripes for the win. Good stuff man.

 

Thanks - I'll be aim to add more units to my Space Wolves this year.  I've just give them there first game in years just to use the new codex.  Like my Iron Warriors, the Wolves will be a on going army.  I'd like to try Champion of Fenris & create a Wolf Guard Biker force.
Next few months I should be adding those new units.

Just spent today paint up the first of the three Rapier Weapons Battery for my Iron Warriors.  Aim this to be theme around a detachment of Stor-Bezashk.

I've still got a lot left to paint on the model before it finish.  I'll also try get the model varnish during tomorrow so I can start adding FW weather powder.  Also going to add Blood for the Blood god but not as much, just little bit on the ground.

 

Right now I've got it planned out how I want the other two to look.

 

Also, I ended up not cutting out slot in the oval base.  Just felt this might be a bit to much hassle & any mess up, it not going to be easy to fix.  Also it might look a bit off.  I've got spare models in my case I can use in the event somthing happen to the guns them selfs in game.

There still a LOT more to get added to this model.  I'm going to not use the dragon teeth, instead there going to be kept for my Rapier Weapons Battery models once I get them order.

I've got a spare Dreadnought, left over from conversion for my Space Wolves that I'll add to the base.  I'm also possible getting some of the Eldar ruin part from the new plastic Harlquien from a friend once there release on Saturday.  As said this is to tie in with another friend Eldar force.

 

There also a few trophies I will be adding to this.  One of them Nids, base on the Nids seen on other trophies though out my Iron Warriors force & that I had a great game against before Rapid Fire as we where test out our armies & getting use to the mission.

Just there Nids army is on going & recently order a lot of the bigger nids models from Forge World.  So though be cool to tie this Knight in & try get some battle damage, try tie it in as a old battle against this Hive Fleet.  It'll also tie in why his face mask is all smash in after taken on one of the Nid monster in combat.

But those trophies will be added on due to money for the hobby being use for other stuff right now.  Also right now I want to paint this Knight as soon as possible as they are cool models :D

I also want to add somthing to the Battle Cannon to make it a bit more fearful.  I should have a few spare from the Leman Russ kit or there the Maulerfiend, just left over part for the Forge Fiend.
Then it just one more model to add to this so I can run a 1500pts force of them in games :D

 

I also replace the stubber weapon with the RW assault cannon after building the third Knight.  Just though it look cooler, more fearful or dreaded?

Though be cool & like all my IW's, add some great theme & story to the model.  This will be added as soon as possible.

 

Right now I think my list is

- Rapier Weapons Battery:  Get this unit finish during this month

- Add another Knight in the future for a stand alone force & ally

- Berzerker (?).  Still unsure how I want these to look beside sort of IW version of the Death Company type thing.

- Chosen:  Was hoping to see some IW upgread pack from Forge World from the Horus Heresy weekender.....see what tomorrow bring.

- Still got a 5th Heldrake I've been mean to build & paint.  I'm take part in a hobby challenge Crusade of Iron, that will be my fast attack chose/part for this challenge, with the way it all working out.

The Rapier is looking awesome. The Stor-Bezashk would be proud! Looking forward to seeing two more.

 

Also, the new knight's damaged faceplate adds a nice, sinister touch.

Yeesh, is the finecast one any better? I also agree about the storm eagle. If I knew how aggravating it was to build I would not have bought one.

There still a lot to get painted on this knight.  I'll ether get this done during the weekend, just depend if a game goes forward or not.  If not then I will be spend some time next week getting the knight finish.
Also going to get the first Chaos Knight I converted last year with the warshrine, when the model was release & see if I can borrow a few Knight models from a friend so I can use this as a stand alone army for a game next week vs my friend Eldar w/3 Writhknight army or possible four if the Harlquine allow it in there ally chose?

 

I'll also be getting a Forge World order place soon for more Thudd guns toward the new unit, along with a few other things to convert the crew memeber.  Also pick up a box of Chaos Marines this weekend.

Biohazard - I'll try get a photo with my mobile phone.  I might talk to my friend with the 4x Writhknight & see if he up for a game & also talk to the other friend to see if he will be about next week for me to borrow two of his Knight models.  I think so far he only got three of the five of his own knight models built.

 

On the knight, where did the chain mail hanging from the right shoulder come from?

 

It from the Ogre Thundertusk kit which I also use a lot of the spike bit from.  There are other part you could use like the horns, but I stayed away from that due to transport the model when I'm getting it painted & for gaming.  I think it from one of the shield/armour plates?
Also why the Knight in bits as well until he fully painted.

 

But there lot good part on that kit.

Just put this here & general how I paint my Iron Warriors.

 

Metal - I usely start with this first

Leadbelcher Black Wash, Pruple wash, Black Wash, Leadbelcher (Dry Brush with tank brush), Rune Fangsteel (Dry brush w/Tank brush), black wash (not heavy/light wash) this just help & shade any part the dry brush has gotten into & highlight with Rune Fangsteel.

 

Gold

Hashut Copper, Black wash, Gehenna's Gold, leave the above in the recess of the armour, Brown wash, purple wash Auric Armour Gold: Highlight

 

Yellow

Averland Sunset, Zamesi Desert, Yriel Yellow, Sepia Wash, Abaddon Black to tidy up the lines, Flash Gitz yellow for the highlight.

 

Browns

Mournfang Brown, black wash, Mournfang brown, brown wash, Skrag Brown highlight

 

Reds

Khorne Red, Mephiston Red (depend how your wanting the red to look), brown wash, Evil Sunz Scarlet: Highlight, Wild Rider Red: Highlight.  Again depend, you can add Sepia wash

 

Blues

Incubi Darkness, Sotek Green, Temple Guard Blue

 

 

So much to catch up on.
The dreads look good, but I really like the Rapier. The Thud gun style fits the Iron Warriors perfectly.
And your 3rd (3rd, havent even got one) knight is coming on really nicely.

I'm really looking forward to getting this unit into a few games.

 

Knights are great model to build & paint.  It well worth getting one as a center model.  Just plan in advance how you want to paint the model & just have a lot of cool theme & history.

I've only had a little bit time today toward painting the third Knight model.  Just highlight the Eldar Farseer trophie & start work on the shoulder pad.
I ended up getting a game during the day instead of painting.  Really great & tactical game vs Nids 1850pts, Lord Narach Delau slay all before him with the help of the Sorcerer Terminator: Nârik Gharrok, Herald of the 5th Grand Company.

 

So I'll be getting the third Chaos Knight painted this week.  Then after that just get the Rapier sorted as soon as my Forge World order arrive.
