I just see Iron Warriors useing the extra armour plates for seige & trench warfare.

 

Just return from Throne of Skulls Novemeber yesterday night. Battle report will be up later on this week, just spent today building new models & general recovering from the travling.

 

The Iron Warriors where up for Best army nominee again along with eight other great armies. Also one of my Obliterators units pick up the infamous unit award for making a lot of cover saves for two turns while still on one wound against a Tau & Necron ally force

 

I was going to includ some photos there, but some how thanks to photobucket changeing it lay out that some stage over the past few days. I can not acess it...... blood of the father I hate it when a update done to the computer/web site.

 

Pretty much it was going to be

 

Cultiest - While the Dark Vengance models are great. I preffer converting. With Throne of Skulls being down in Nottingham in Warhammer World, it great allow me to place mail order & Forge world order on the day & then pick them up later on, not having to worry on the post or anything.

During the ToS weekend, I pick up some of the Forge World Chaos Guard to convert with a box of Cadain I bought a few days ago before the event. So right now they are current getting built & converted. I want to try get across the Chaos Guards look from the Space Marine computer game.

 

Right now it just Cadain models with the FW Chaos guard backpack converted onto the models. But when time permit there a lot I want to add to the models before they are ready for painting. I will be looking that the art book that the collecter version of the game came with for idea.

 

Havocs - I also spent some time later today converting up the Havoc unit with Autocannons. Again when time permit just a few things to add before the models are ready for painting.

 

Right now I still got another Havoc unit arm with Missile Launchers which I will be aim to start building tomorrow night. Just need to pick up a box of Chaos Space Marines if money permit, basicly what ever left after Throne of Skulls weekend ^_^

 

Close Combat Obliterators - I have the parts, it just time to try get them ready for a game this Thursday that my wargaming club

 

Tomorrow will see my second Heldrake model painted as well.

I think Warhammer World is a place that all hobbiest should that least go to. It a great place & has pretty much become my home away from home. It great being able to mail order (bit gutted we can no longer order single bits like the old days) & Forge World, then being able to pick it up later that day. Or the display as they now have the Forge World heresy display in the front window which was that Games Day. I miss out on seen this, but it great I will be able to check out the display now each time I am down that Warhammer World.

Sorcerer Krull - When I started my Iron Warriors back in 2001/2002 for Conflict Scotland I had a Sorcerer & with the release of the new codex & new psychic power (not try them out yet) I though it be good to bring back this Sorcerer ^_^

Cultist (note the Tech Priest is not part of the Call of Chaos). I already have a Chaos Guard theme army I started back in June. Aim is that this unit can be added to ether my Iron Warriors or Chaos Guards. Theme wise it ment to be a Forge World planet my IW over took, this is the chaos part. So lot of Techpriest/tech look useing the FW Chaos models for the backpack & the Forge World storm trooper helmet from the Cadain conversion kit.

A extra Terminator I converted up recently. This model not part of the Call of Chaos, it more just for the 3000pts as both my Terminators units have a extra model in there bring them to two units of 5

The Sorcerer & Combat Obliterators will be painted in my local Games Workshop store tomorrow. While a few hour ago I mange to get some time to paint the Cutist unit, so hopeful get them fully painted tomorrow.

 

Money permitting I'm going to try pick up a Forge Fiend to add to the army.

 

I think after I painted this lot I will possible look into adding a unit of Chosen, have them a bit more heavy converted with the bionic with both the Forge World kit & the Iron Hands kit from mail order (please note I use pure GW parts when it come to building/painting). Also converting up more Cultist so they can be use in both my Iron Warriors & my Chaos Guard army.

As said when I was adding the Cultist to my Iron Warriors, I wanted to take some idea from the Chaos Guards from the Space Marine computer game. I just use the Cadain, Forge World Chaos Guards (backpack), Kroot parts & the skull trophies are from the Beastmen Cygor (sp?) model which I bought for some of the other skull to add to thing like my Autocannon backpack (in the normal Chaos Marine squads) for trophies or for my Object marker of the Iron Warriors holding the 5th Grand Company Banner.

 

So right now I need to make up one more Chaos Cultist to act as a Champion for the Call of Chaos. I will get the Champion converted up during this weekend :D

I am aim on getting the Launcher arm Havoc painted tomorrow with there squad marking & I got a spare Terminator I am current painting which I think I shown in the last update (not part of Call of Chaos).

 

Also I am thinking about converting a Chosen unit for my Iron Warriors after thinking about it after my last post. Still need to get around to adding a Forge Fiend model to my force :)

With the Saws, yes just when I made the Combat Obliterators. I was unsure what I was going to do for the right arm. For my Heavy Support Obliterators is easy as we got the Devastator box set & now with added weapon, any assault cannon from the Ravenwing/Land Speeder kit.

Just when I was cutting off the parts from the Ork kit to make the Obliterator, saw the arm. While it was for the left arm, it was easy enough to cut that the elbow & add it to a Terminator shoulder, use green stuff for the Obliterators style flesh.

 

I will need to try convert some more Obliterators in the near future.

 

On another note, part for the Chosen have arrive & a few friends have given me some spare bits from there Necron Ghost ark kit. Mainly part from the Necron warriors to use as trophies, also mean I got a few more I can keep to one side for my Dreadnought when that arrive next week B) Also another friend has got some of the spare Ork armour loin cloth from there recent Ork force which is going to help the Chosen unit out a lot.

So ether going to try convert up some tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

The current Chosen models should be complete by this weekend. Also I've mange to find more part to I can bring the unit of Chosen up to eight models.

 

After the Chosen & Dreadnought I think the next few things to do will be

 

- Predators: I recently found some Rhinos still on spure & I know I got a few predator weapons still on spure. Again this is just so I got the models & I use to have Predators in my Iron Warriors back in 2005 to 2007, use to run a army with four of these.

 

- Land raider: Like the Rhinos, I recently found a box with a unbuilt Land Raider, so though I add it in, instead of letting it gather dust. Also I use to have a Land Raider back when I started the army. As said before one of the aim with my Mk6 Iron Warriors, as well as aim for event/tournament, with the release of the now current codex I want to try bring back some stuff that use to be in my army like the Sorcerer, Land Raider & Predators. While some other units are in this force just to be there & cool idea like the Chosen for exsample.

 

- Forge Chaplain (Black Library story - Endeavour of Will, from Architect of Fate): I will be getting the Dark Vengance Chaplain later today thanks to a friend. I just like the idea of a Iron Warriors type Chaplain chanting the Unbreakable Litany during battle to boost the Iron Warriors, while trying to lower moral on who ever where battleing.

 

- More Cultist: Just to bring the unit up to 30 models, this way I can ether have the unit as 30 models, 3x 10 & also as said the cultist also help toward my Chaos Guard theme army.

 

So I'll be aim to get this lot done during the Christmas holidays, if assassin creed 3 dose not get in the way. Getting this lot done would mean my Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company would stand that 100 models & 12 tanks in total.

 

I should have a photo update hopeful during the weekend, with the Chosen, Dreadnought & Cultist champion I need for Call of Chaos.

Thanks for the comment EPK - For the staff, thanks for the idea, that would be really cool & work well with the model. I was thinking the staff needed somthing just to help it out a little bit more since it a HQ model/to draw focuse to the model as a HQ chose & could tie in great with the glow eye/plasma I go though out the army.

Just a few bits left to paint & then the model will be ready for varnish in the next few days. Then all I have left are two champion for my Havoc squads left before I finish painting everthing for the Call of Chaos. I should have those havoc champion made hopeful during the weekend (money permit). Then that will be everthing painted - Maulier Fiend, Sorcerer, Cultist, 2x Havoc units & the Close Combat Obliterators :)

 

None Call of Chaos models

 

I am going to make the Cultist unit 30 model strong. This way I can ether use it as a bigger unit or three smaller unit. Also I said they'd also be use in my Chaos Guard army which I started back in June.

 

With that in mind, I though be cool to have a Banner in the unit of Cultist (or Guard Standard Bearer in my Chaos Guards)

Like the Cultist champion above. The current models for the Chosen are near finish & will be varnish in the next few days. Just have another three Chosen to add to this unit.

 

Also while look for parts recently. I came across some spures with complete Rhino & some predator parts. So though I'd add them to my Iron Warriors :D I use to have Predators in my army back in the 2005/2007 era & it was really great useing four of them back when the Iron Warriors could hace four heavy support chose.

As said there, with the release of the current codex now, I want to try add a lot to my Iron Warriors from my Throne of Skulls/local tournament force, then other units so they are there to try out in games or because I just want to build & paint that model.

I just need to add plasticard armour to the tanks which will be getting done this Friday. Like my Rhinos, I want to add a Crusifed Space Marine to the hull of one of the Predators. But I am unsure which chapter to make the model. As said all trophies are base on armies I fought over the years.

One though has been to try added a dead Dark Angel which the release of the box game earily this year. But I will work out somthing near the time.

This was bought a while back when I was trying to collect a World Eater army which was part of the last Call of Chaos. But sadily a lot of stuff was on the go & it ment any time I had toward both building & painting for the World Eater, they where rush/very limited & I loss intrest in collecting the army.

But I will be adding the Land Raider to my Iron Warriors as well. As posted a while back when starting this topic, I have a Land Raider back when I start my army & though be cool to have a brand new Mk2 version of this.

The model will be converted into a Forge Chaplain. Check out Black Library - Architect of Fate: Endeavour of Will, short story. Which has a small warband of Iron Warriors battle against Lysander & the Imperial Fist. It comment how the Iron Warriors have a Forge Chaplain.

I will be painting the Dreadnought this Wednesday that my local Games Workshop store. For the arm, I think I will be getting the Imperial Dreadnought CCW arm from Forge World. Also need to try get some more Forge World Brass etch as well for my Predators & Land Raider tanks.

I just to green stuff the base & add some plastic tubes/H beams. Should hopeful get this done tomorrow after Christmas launch. Also give me a chance to see if any family memeber get me any Games Workshop models for any more parts to add to the Chaplain :lol:

Overall I like the idea of Chaos Marines getting Chaplain. I like the idea of a Iron Warriors - Forge Chaplain chanting the Unbreakable Litany during battle to boost the moral/fighting spirt of the Iron Warriors, while bring dread to those they fight, defence there walls or trenchies.

 

Just need to think of some names for these new units for my Iron Warriors.

 

I was hoping to get some photos of my Predators & Land Raider. But time was against me to get them finish building wise.

Yesterday I mange to get time to get some photos of my Iron Warriors army once more. Just wanted to see how the army look with all these new units painted & just to check what I wanted to add.

I got another Heldrake to build, 2x Land Raider to paint & 2x Predators & a few other Iron Warriors models to build. Aim to get these build & painted over the next few days. Then I will be looking that my Iron Warriors & what I will be taken down to the Throne of Skulls March event in Nottingham

 

Then my Dreadnought & Forge Chaplain. I taken the photos on my Armies on Parade display board due to not being able to get usely space to take my usely photos.
