Filling some holes in the HQ slots.... Here's the beginnings of my flying Sorceror(ess)...

And what Nurgley army would be complete without a Typhus?  Here's the beginning of mine.... just the beginning, mind you.

And some close-ups on the first stage of the sculpting... more gross stuff to come and a bigger shoulder plate that looks a bit like a nasty bug carapace.

More to come.  Cheers Ya'll!

Typhus' scythe looks a little weedy compared to the rest of his bulk.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw the Daemonette Champion head and got ideas.

Thanks for the great comments gang.:biggrin.:  Still VERY much in-progress. The scythe is just the basic components glued together and there is still much more sculpting to come on the rest of him.

More sculpting on my "Typhus"....

AND... Ms.Charlotte now has WIIIIIiiiiiiiings!!!

Things got a bit gruesome and nasty with the sculpting...which is a good thing. Plus, I kept the little screaming almost dead guy hooked up inside.

Cheers Ya'll!

Your work on this army is epic - excellently done, esp the sculpting - lots of original ideas.

As for Miss Blinky, uuuuurrrrrgh, in the best possible Nurgle-y way of course!

Thank you sir. One of these days I have to get moving on the rank and file guys, but I've basically learned how to sculpt while doing this lot. Practice,practice,practice.... and challenge yourself, constantly, is what I would suggest to anyone who wants to improve their modelling and./or painting skills.

The next big difficult decision will be figuring out which head to put on "Typhus". Originally, I had thought of naming his character "Rhett Bastid" and having his zombie plague being one that turned people into undead ratmen (since I've been using Skaven as plague zombie proxies)  I have also tested a couple Plaguebeareer heads, though I'm liking them less now that the sculpting and the whole "corrupt terminator" look is settling in. So I may take my own advice and kick it up a notch, by trying to sculpt at least part of a face. Any thoughts from the masses?

There are also Khorny Terminators that need painting, an OLD vindicator I converted a few years back that is going to get an upgrade and a ton of other stuff. Not to mention my Nurgle Imperial Guar..er...Astra Militarium Traitor army that needs finishing (Which I can't really post here as allies anymore, can I.)   Thanks everyone for checking out my stuff and for all the great comments. that's why I love the B&C.

Holy shizzle bud, back with a bang!

Rhett Bastid (so many LOLs) clearly needs a corrupted termy head, maybe one of those FW khorne types with the teeth which, with your sculpting, would no doubt be able to look a little more "ratty"!

Also Miss Charlotte looks, well, just splendid!

Waiting on rusted flesh hooks for the next update!

Well, I went kind of old school with the head. I used one from the OLD chaos mutant sprue (which was for the old fantasy warriors I believe)  I accidentally chopped it in half, but went with it. I got this creepy, flabby, short bus kind of look going on- buck teeth, slurry lisp. I picture him as the guy who was picked on in school, maybe not playing with a full deck (or maybe a genius- but everyone thought he was messed up)... maybe his folks kept him in the basement, his only friends were rats.  I've still got some more detail work to do on the face, but the basics of the mouth, a rat's ear, the beginnings of the buck teeth and the first of the flab is there.

And, of course, he's got to have a tail......

I'll be covering the base of the tail with that cloth or skin or whatever it is.   While I had the green stuff out, I decided to give my old Vindicator a gribbly upgrade....

More to come.  Cheers ya'll!

That's it. I have to ask. What selection of tools are you using to create such disgusting beauty?

I'll grab a photo of what I use in the next update. Though, I can tell you that toothpicks cut to shape as you need them are invaluable.

I just know I'm gonna :cry: when those maggot-tentacles on the Vin are painted.  Love the big eyeball poking out of the mass of...ick...on the top, too.  You da man, boss.

I may start the basic painting this week so I can use her in a game next Wednesday. Keep an eye open.

And I want Ms Charlotte to feel a bit more machine-like so I started her head...

Forte, the tools are pretty basic, but if you want the full layout I did a bit on my hobby blog about it.  http://rednekkzmekshop.blogspot.com/2014/09/sculptin-and-ascupltin.html

He is looking Naaesty!

Tell me, do you use a magnifying glass when you sculpt? For it seems that you are sculpting individual teeth into this guys mouth??

I have a pair of 2.5x "reading glasses" i wear for crazy detail work - sculpting or painting.  I have one of those lamps with the magnifying glass, but I always seem to bump it with my tools/brushes and even a tiny error can cause a tremendous amount of loud cursing.  It also never hurts to go back in and carve some details out with a sharp Exacto or needle tool. So for something like teeth you could sculpt in a flat little rectangle and go in after they are set and dry with the knife and hack a few away. :)
