I have a question for you, good sir red. I've got a Chaos Giant I want to Nurgle up to look all bubonic plague-y, and I'm weak with sculpting. Any tricks or tips you can spare for making pustules, boils and the like?

I hope I can explain this... I'll see if I can't post some pics in the future. If you can find something like a thin tube (I use some old syringe points from a science kit) to make pefect round "dots". As for making bunches of globules/pustules, I make a thin coil, then twist it into bunches, then you pull parts of the blobs onto the model. Remember, water is your friend when working with green stuff. It helps smoot stuff out. You see folks all the time with neat ideas that could be better executed if they just smooth the putty out with a wet tool so it blends more seemlessly with the plastic.  Also, if you don't have sculpting tools, toothpicks, cut to shape with an exacto knofe work great. I use them alot.  Also... it never hurts to do some research ahead of time.  Google + Images + Bubonic plague or pustules. You cna find all sorts of gross stuff that way for inspiration, unless that sort of thing makes you queezy. :)

Yes...I'm still alive.  I've been distracted by comics, kittens and Necrons.... among other things.  I've done some more work on the Vindicator.  For the most part the hull, except for the organic, gribbly parts is done. Unless I decide to do some paint chipping or something... but that will be minimal, since I'm pretty pleased with the results.

The Gribblies are still "in process" but I have the basic colors in around the corrupted hatch and such. I still ahve to put in some details- eyeballs, zitty pustules, infected looking bits, glossy, slimey nasty parts- but you can get an idea of the tone and color.  Here's some detail shots.

In finishing up the hull, I used Typhus Corrosion as a glaze and wash in some places.  The stuff has lots of differnt uses, other than just slathering it on. :)

Thanks guys!  Between the Typhus Corrosion and the Althonian Camoshade there are spots that look like poo after you've eatten too much spinach.  Which in this case is a good thing. ;)  Hopefully, I'll finish her up this weekend and can move along to some of my other unfinished projects.

The Vindicator is DONE!

The eye gets covered by the Havoc launcher.... but she's purty.  And best of all she's DONE!

Ah! Well, after seeing that imagery I am now fully awake....don't know about breakfast though. I keep forgetting this is a nurgle thread and not crusading knights. :dry.: lol

Really sickening in a good way. The eye in the gibbly bits looks awesome.

He looks awesome mate. Hot damn, that's a magnificent model. I love that creepy green eye coming from the copula.

I'm not sure what you mean with this though:

Yeah, THIS Havoc launcher (when I use it).  Its what happens when you do the sculpting without the launcher on and totally forget about it while you paint. :)

Alright, lads (and possibly ladies)... I finished Ms. Charlotte. Or at least finished the building/conversion phase.

There are a few more all around/ detail shots at my blog, but there she is.  She's in the middle of being primed as I type, so more to come with her. Also working on the traitor Leman Russ and some other things for the traitor Guard and Khorney contingents of the Templars od DOOooom over yonder -> http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298648-traitors-

the-bloody-7th-and-the-dogs-of-khorne/  Seems the real world is going to give me a temporary break so I can work on my hobby stuff. NOW... if only I could get in a game to write a battle report and make Nighthunters damage another computer monitor.

Scary stuff brother, MC looks fantastic, and just give me a heads up if you do get to type up another report. Will take the required precautions, recon wrapping the monitor in cling film should suffice!
