Sorry for the long absence, gang. the real world has been biting into my hobby time something fierce these days. That and I've been distracted by the hive mind... its not easy rehabbing old metal carnifexes.  But I've been working on Ms. Charlotte while sculpting other projects ...i.e. waiting for green stuff to dry.... and here's the most recent shot with her new set of legs.

The front end is going to get finished up soon and I'm laying out patterns for the wings , so keep a weather eye. Yearrrgh!

I've put the basic rust colors down on Ms. Blinky. The same technique as on the Templar of DOOooom marines.

Thanks for the great comment guys.. more to come soon.

Brother, I would not like to face your army across the table.  A greater combination of squee/squick I have not beheld, Emperor have mercy.  My compliments!

The way I play I need all the help I can get, Lionheart. ;)  I do like to turn Blinky when people aren't looking so she's constantly staring at my opponent..... at least until she dies. It works pretty good as a distraction.... which, with my dice rolling, is always a good thing.  This is what happens when you pledge your soul to Chaos at a young age, children.  I may have to make more things with big eyes... been thinking about a Blinky Helldrake.

Ms. Blinky has gotten some more paint. I've been concentrating on the armor sections, which- aside from some piddly detailing- are now done.  The Skin still has to be touched up/repainted in places to be brought in line with other skin in the army and I have to work on all the mechanical parts , but she's coming along nicely....

More soon. Cheers, Ya'll!

More progress on Ms. Blinky. Mostly work on her skin. She's getting close to done. Much work to be done on the mouth still and some of the metal areas on the legs, then the base.

Go Ms. blinky! :biggrin.:

Thank you, sir.  It will be nice to get her done.... for many reasons. Mostly because I literally have dozens of kits to build and GW has decided to release all the books for the armies I play right in a row this year... because they want me to stay poor, so I need to get the older projects done. AND she'll be the center piece..i.e. bullseye... for the army. The plan will be to have a flier or two to help keep Blinky alive longer so her 'unsettling gaze' special ability can work its magic on my opponents. ;)

Thanks for all the high praise, everyone. Its always great incentive to keep painting and trying to out do myself on the next project. B&C always rocks for that!

I should have her finished next week, so keep an eye open. Then its on to Ms Charlottes wings and finishing the paint on the sentinals.

Blinky looks STUNNING !!!! ready for her date with Calgar.

Calgar? Isn't that him between her feet?  Actually, in games so far her shooting leaves a bit to be desired, must be a depth perception issue.  Usually, I'm either playing IG..er,uhm AM...I mean, with Chaos allies or the reverse to do the mixed army of traitors that are the Templars of DOOooom.  So Ms. Blinky is actually in charge of the complaint department for the Traitor army. The poor unfortunate bloody mess at her feet is/was Trooper Mevik Sledge. Sledge had a serious problem with the overuse of powdered eggs by the field kitchen staff. I mean.... they use them in everything. I think it was the frog legs and powdered egg quiche that put him over the edge.  As you can see in the inset above, his complaint was handled swiftly, efficiently and without the need for a union rep.:geek:

BTW...thanks for all the comments, guys.  In 3 games so far,  the eye staring at my opponent (the same guy) has been unnerving. Usually distracting him enough to make him expend undue energy to kill her.  Then I put her on the side of the table so she can continue to stare.  Hmmmmm... I may have to add a couple more things with nasty bug eyes to the army.

You evil, heartless monster.

Marry me.

:D

All kidding aside, that's a great model.  The sheen on the maggot tentacles actually made me shiver when I first looked at it.  This is everything I love about this hobby.

I'm fairly certain that is my first proposal here on B&C. But alas...... I'm already taken.

But thanks for the great comment. I was worried the pictures didn't go it justice. Discomfort and revulsion are what I was going for and it seems I've succeded. With my win/loss record and the number of games I tend to get in these days, I'm definitely a hobbyist/painter first and a player second and seeing others enjoy the work makes it worth it. One of the reasons I like posting at B&C, always great and useful feedback and great reactions.
